  • thanks for posting this one, I might join here since boost doesn't work :)

  • How easy is it to cancel after six months

    • +1

They were fine when I was with them but it was a few years back - I don’t think they’re one of the predatory operators, felt pretty straightforward.

    • pretty easy and straight foward CS, overseas based obviously but work well, one of the best CS I have deal with

    • Very easy. Been with them twice over the last couple years and just port out.

    • Yes

  • Do they have VoLTE and wowifi

    • +1

All telcos have VoLTE, there are no 3G networks. They have VoWiFi.

I would ditch boost for this if I didn't still have a few months left. Hopefully the offer is around later

    • +1

They will have a deal when you’re ready. Moose have become the sim churner for people and most leave after the 6 months as there isn’t really any loyalty programs for people to stay.

  • No eSIM?

    • Thats a deal breaker for me

      • +1

Same here. I've been using them from 2017 till Jun last year. They have great customer service and works fine.

However, the fact that they don't have any solid plans to provide eSIM, and for my use case I'll need them to support eSIM (and also the fact that existing customers doesn't get these great prices), I've switched to Kogan mobile when they had a EOFY deal that both gives me an eSIM and also cheaper.

If they do have eSIM, I'll definitely consider using them again.

I've been using Moose for maybe 2 years. Been happy to break out of the typical big Telco model. Some annoyances around no call queuing (I think you have to ask them to activate it) and you have to prepay to activate international roaming, but nothing to write home about.

  • +2

    Is there a credit check?

  • International roaming is shit

    • Roaming is rarely a cost effective solution for most people. Unless you absolutely have to have your number available, an international sim is the better option.

      • Depends on the country, some are similar pricing or if you're going to multiple countries you'd end up buying 3-4 different sims which adds up even if they're only $15.
I'm going to China soon and it seems that $40 roaming for 5gb / 14 days is actually about the same price as local sims (but those have the added downside of everything western being blocked).

        • I was more thinking of something like Airalo. And those sorts of services can often do a regional travel SIM. But yes, there are times that roaming will make more sense, however, I personally think those situations are the exception.

    • I’m desperate for a cheaper provider than Vodafone which I can’t break up with due to the $5 roaming - I travel internationally very frequently and want to keep my regular number and data

  • Goodbye TPG, had enough of your price gouging.

Anyone know of a TPG replacement for their rip off internet prices? Price has gone up every year.

    Thank you.

    • Few discount plans on OzB over the past week or so, have a squizz

    • +1

NBN wholesale price is so high that nothing is really cheap, unless you can be bothered churning after every different 6 month new customer discount.

If you happen to have a CBA mortgage, you can get More internet for ~$46 for 50mbit though.

    • Have a look at Leaptel, they offer discounts for the first 12 months and pricing is pretty attractive IMO.

  • Anyone been with an Optus 4g reseller and tried these guys? Curious if it's any good. I'm with Coles Mobile currently and it's barely usable

    • In my experience in Melbourne inner suburbs with crappy optus reseller plans, it will be the same with any of them, so many black spots in prime central locations and if you try to log any support ticket about it they just gaslight you into thinking it's your phone that's the problem. Just go with Boost when they have a sale on an annual prepaid.

    • If Coles is crap, so will the others, time for Telstra or Vodafail it seems

      • I've just come from boost after a year. I've been with Coles for a few days and it's been hell

        • Try Aldi, Optus is obviously rubbish in your area

    • Moose has 5G and 4G

  • +1

Something to be aware of with Moose Mobile is that you are speed capped to 100mbps.

You’re also on a MVNO deprioritised tier, so when there is congestion (such as you’re in a rural area and only have access to a congested 700mhz band), you will not receive the same speeds as a Optus retail customer.

I experienced this recently when I went to Mudgee (outskirts) and in my case, I had absolutely no data throughput, while others with normal Optus plans in the same location were able to browse reasonably.

  • Hmm this or the 12 month catch connect deal. I could get 200gb for 12 months which would do me fine and only 1c more per month. Just not sure on network quality. I really only spend time in SEQ mostly in Brisbane.

  • Im with moose, to lazy to port out, overseas pack was you had to pre buy credit maybe 200 , then ifnyou dont use they credit it back, not very clear and seemed a bit dodgy , i wasnt keen on that . Everything else has been great.

  • it doesn’t support eSIM

  • Can I set a future activation date?
Want to make the most of my 50% off Felix month that's remaining

  • Should offer 12m ,
