A lot of PC for the money, that 14th gen deal coming with a wifi mobo - if the likely mobo is the actual one.

    • +2

when you go to the website it says DDR4 motherboard with no WiFi, but DDR5 RAM is included - likely an error on the website.

  • is there any chance for a 7800xt build in the future?

  • Hey Luke, just sent you a message if you could have a look. Thanks :)

  • +1

    still waiting for 12400f+4060/4060ti :)

  • +2

+1 because both those RTX3060 cards are the 12Gb version

  • -8

they're still in operation I'm amazed, lot of cheaper tech shops either go bust or high price tag. just my experience techfast have poor quality components, maybe its the parts (usb c, wireless) but its not easy to take it back if something goes wrong. YMMV

    • +2

builders go cpu + video card + rubbish everything else route.

    • +1

I got a tech fast PC over 4 years ago. its still running fine and does everything my friend wanted it too :) great purchase for $499+$39 Delvery
it took just a little over 2 weeks to get to me though.

  • Whats better??? Intel Core i3 12100F or AMD Ryzen 5 5500

  • -6

Note, need to factor in OEM Windows and Wifi adds extra $250… $699 is bit misleading.. Windows and Wifi are staples unless u want a pleb free OS which no one wants… $900 is the real cost after discount on cheapest model.. still decent deal but..

    • +7

buy windows key yourself. < $40

      • +2

Where's a good place? Good chance it'd be already used and invalid perhaps?

      • +3

Yeh but isn’t that dodgy? Surely u can’t buy a “legit” copy of windows for under $40. If so please link….

      • +2

You might as well pirate it at that point, no key under $40 is "legit". Probably OEM / volume licensed keys.

      • +6

Better off just googling "Microsoft Activation Scripts" and spending your extra cash on eneloops

    • +15

$250 for wifi and Windows? You're paying wayyyyyyyyy too much. Certainly not doing it the OzBargain way.

      • -2

Windows is free if ur doing it the ozbargain. Torrent hacked

        • +10

You can use Windows perfectly fine unactivated, or activate with a generic key (can't link how).

        • +3

Yeah…. do not ever torrent windows.
Microsoft provide the installation files themself….

    • +10

My gaming pc is connected via ethernet, and you don't need a license key to run windows, or just use linux and install steam. So it's a bit misleading to state you need another $200 on top.

        • +7

well, the post did say "gaming" PCs, so I assumed that was primary the purpose.
I'm really not interested in engaging with the whole console vs pc crap, and even less inclined with an OS debate, but if I want a computer for productivity, I'd buy a Mac instead.
All I'm saying is there are viable no cost options for this build, as these days there is very little compelling reason to invest in the Windows ecosystem. I agree wifi should actually be standard, but for network performance cable is always going to be better.

          • -3

@Fybre: Fair point, im not saying that either but if my sole purpose was to play games then a PS5 is much better option for all points above. if i want the luxury of playing high end games and also use it as a fast PC for work, class or what not then that's best of both worlds so then Windows needed. I just wouldn't buy a Gaming PC to put free OS on it to get by and run steam to practically just use it as a "Console".. For that I'd just buy a bloody console instead.

            • +2

@Gavman: are you from 2013 dog

            • +8

@Gavman: that just isn't true anymore, that $120 a year membership to play online, a free feature for PC, will cost you an extra $700 over the life span of the console. So now your $700 console becomes $1400. Now take into account steam sales are more common and usually better than consoles well the value gap becomes much further. Consoles are great for a plug and play system if you don't want to or don't know how to use a PC. Now take into account i sale the seven seas and technically save $1000s a year, yeah.

            • @Gavman: you can buy oem keys for $10

    • +2

Windows 10/11 is free to use. Can also activate the CMD for free.

      https://www.minitool.com/news/how-to-activate-windows-10-cmd…

      then pick your key

      https://gist.github.com/jhermsmeier/5959110

        • Dont know what you are doing wrong, but you don't need a key to install Windows. Windows can be installed for free and will have an activation watermark on the bottom right until you activate it. You can still use this for everyday usage.

This step is after you have installed Windows.

  • 4060 8gb > 3060 12gb?

  • -2

Motherboard is an Intel B760M not B760.

    • isn't B760 just stating the chipset?
spec list specifies it is M-ATX

      Motherboard: Intel B760 [M-ATX] DDR4 Motherboard

The problem there is it is listed as a DDR4 motherboard with DDR5 ram listed below

      • The M denotes matx board, a B760 board would be an ATX board. Yes the description says ddr4 which is wrong too.

        • +1

Read it is Intel B760 chipset DDR5 ram motherboard

    • Its not an intel motherboard, thats just the platform/chipset, however you want to understand it.
      There are Z790's, B760's and H750's

They all have M and non M variants.

      • Your an idiot. I'm quoting the OP "Intel B760 DDR5 motherboard (likely MSI Bomber WiFi)"

An MSI B760 motherboard would be a full atx board and by not denoting the M afterwords to make the differentiation is misleading.

Just like any Z790, B760 would be an ATX board
        and a Z970M, B760M would be a MATx board.

Just like the OP has put B650M, and B450M for the AMD boards.

Luke should fix it because it's misleading, as my first thought was cool a full atx build but then noticed the case was microatx.

        • +1

Just saw this thread, updated in the post to B760M, thanks.

    • Get downvoted for providing the correct information as confirmed from luketechfast. lol

  • Caleb/Luke,

Do you have any more information on the Leaper Cruise [MATX] Case. Specifically the front panel connections (USB specs, etc)

There is nothing on your website and the photos do not show the top panel.

    • Like other generics expect it to be 1x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0 and potentially the mic/headphone jacks.

    • +4

I've updated the gallery with a front IO shot - 2 x USB 2, 1 x USB3, reset button, LED button, headphone, mic

  • Any deals that comes with a wifi mobo team?

  • Hey @luketechfast, will this get restocked? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/827093
    Thanks in advance.

    • +1

      i hope so

    • +1

It was a clearance on 7600 cards, so probably unlikely TBH

  • Where are Techfast located? If the warranty is RTB, this would be good to know where i might need to ship it to.

    • +3

      Adelaide

      • cheers buddy

  • Do you have an option to pre-install Win10 Pro instead of Win11? If so, how do you add that to cart (and how much)?

  • How to add wifi to the 699 builds?

  • I've been out of the game a whike now but am I right in saying its almost cheaper to purchase pre built systems now?

    • +1

      Correct.
Cheapest possible components on pcpartpicker for the 12100f RTX 3060 build is $934.
And that's before you pay several lots of postage for different retailers.

  • Can someone explain the difference between the i7-14700F and the i7-14700K? I can't seem to find any benchmarks for the F variant

    • +2

F means it doesn't have integrated graphics (so you can't use the PC without a graphics card at all), so it's slightly cheaper.
K means it's unlocked, so it can be overclocked.
FK means both. But basically it's the same processor i7-14700. AFAIK not having integrated graphics has negligible effect on productivity. Overclocking gives you options to control the power of your processor.

      • thanks very much :)

  • Looking to buy this for my nephews, the $699 option will this support games like Valorant, League of Legends, Minecraft, and Roblox? Also, what FPS and resolution will this support?

    • +3

The $699 options won't break a sweat playing those games.

    • I would google the graphics card name and game benchmarks ie "3060 Game Benchmarks 1080P" or 1440P to see what it gets in real life games.

But off the top of my head I think that build qould get high Frames (like 150-200FPS) at 1080P in thos egames and low but playable 60FPS in other games at 1440.

Could be wrong but thats what id expect. Older games obviously going to get better frames at 1440 than newer.

Its actually a really good price for a decent computer.

  • Hi Techfast,

Any options for ATX motherboard on the 14400F deal? Just after more USB3 ports.
    Cheers

    • I'll get it added as an upgrade - it will be an ATX Z790 WiFi, likely Asrock.

      • Hi Luke, thanks for sorting that. One final question before I pull the trigger… can I request a black case instead of the white case, or is that upgrade only?
        Cheers

        • You would need to upgrade to one of the ATX cases for that board to fit, which are all black.

  • Does the i5-14400f deal have WIFI with the motherboard or not, because if not I don't see why its 100 dollars more than the Ryzen one for just the cpu which are quite similar. Or am I being stupid.

    • +1

It does have wifi yep, but intel is generally more expensive for us to buy from suppliers, chip and motherboard

      • Alright cheers. Imma go ahead and buy it then.

  • Can the $699 build run Sony Vegas Pro video editing on Windows smoothly?

  • Looking to upgrade to a new build as Im still stuck on 6th gen intel CPU.

Is the AMD Ryzen 5 7500F or Intel Core i5 14400F better? Won't be doing any hardcore gaming (just typical esports…LoL, cs2). Will mainly be doing producitivty work (running VM's etc.) Both look very similar. Should I go be going AMD or Intel in 2024?

    • +2

No idea, I only chose Intel because it has a wifi mobo which over the 7500f but idk they might both have it.

edit: I just researched this and saw that I think 14th gen cpu is the last gen that the motherboard will support while the amd will last another generation I think. So for future proof it’s probably amd because if you ever need to upgrade you don’t need to buy a whole new motherboard for next gen. So fml lol

  • Is there any info on the mobos used in core i3 12100f $699 builds ? Are these no name brand ones or one of a known brand?

  • Does the $1588 build have on board wifi? On the website description page it says no wifi but on this page description it says wifi is included with the mobo?

    • nah it doesnt

  • +1

@luketechfast I placed an order yesterday 25th Feb for AMD Ryzen 5 5500 | RTX 3060 12GB Gaming PC. When I can expect this to be sent as I think all parts are available?

    • I haven’t got an email from then like the last three days regarding my pc as I wanted to change it, are they not in service on these days?

      • +1

A bit of sickness ripping through the CS department resulting in some backlog, apologies. Please bear with us.

    • +1

5-10 business days from order for these ones

  • hmm , the 3060 machine seems to be out of stock (with the 3060 card)

  • What are the usual reasons to upgrade 16GB to 32GB RAM?

e.g. For general productivity, web browsing - I'm guessing it wouldn't make much difference?

What about Photoshop or Video editing?

Or what about gaming? (e.g. Call of Duty)

  • The Ryzen 5 5500 with RTX 3060 is out of stock.

  • Its strange that in this posts R5 + 3060 can't be ordered anymore as it says 3060 ran out. However you can still order from this posts https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/832412 i5 + 3060. So I guess 3060 is not actually ran out but they have separated no of 3060 for R5 and i5.
