Hi rep, looks like a nice system. How much of a premium are ITX builds compared to larger builds (for equivalent performance)? $500 perhaps? Just trying to make an informed decision.

I picked up the Techfast 9800/5080 deal which was a fair chunk less than this

The techfast 7800x3d/5080 deal is the same price as the 7800x3d/5070ti deal here, despite those GPUs running about $1,000 difference in price at retail right now. If I had $3k to blow on a gaming PC it would definitely go with techfast, it's as cheap as it'll get in the short term.

I can't speak for pre-builds but from components alone, you're looking at 3 major differences with ITX builds:
Mobo, which for an ITX board is usually around $150 or so more (they start around $300, so no cheapies there)
Case, generally more expensive - you're looking at $200+ for a decent ITX case
PSU, about $50-$100 more depending on what you get.

The other components are mostly the same, it's just picking the right parts - so for example you might not be able to score the cheapest GPU if the current cheapest one doesn't fit the case. Low profile CPU coolers are slightly more but you're talking like $30 more than a tower so no big deal.

This deal is a pretty sweet system for a decent price, although not the smallest ITX case (it's pretty tall at 155mm x 212mm x 481mm) - but at least it's vertical so the footprint is small. Personally I'd go for the 7800X3D / 5070ti

Any mid tower build deals coming up for 5070ti/5080?

  • 5070 for $3.2k. Big oof.

    • oof at the prices in general for 50-series sure (and X3D's for that matter), but a 5070ti is $2k for the card alone. The fact that this is an ITX build with an X3D in the current climate - this is a banger deal for what you're getting right now. Obvs wait for 6-12 months and prices will be better, but it's nice this deal exists for those who don't want to wait.

The price are not mini but.

  • at the Low to Mid end you should be buying AMD Cards not the rip off Nvidia.
