  • Are you able to share how much each package costs when you remove the GPU? (For my interest the 7800X3D)

    • Why would you remove the GPU?

      • +1

I already have one ready to slot in, and maybe others do too.

        • +17

Unfortunately this is not the deal for you if you don't want the complete package.

          • @edfoo: Any reason for that? Or is it just arbitrary?

            • +3

@monky: TechFast probably wants to sell the whole system, rather then going through the hassle of customising each system excluding individual components. Maybe if you request your custom build to Luke and he may be able to tailor make it, but you won't receive the same discount.

        • Great thinking

    • +1

TechFast only sell complete packages, they have sold GPU's etc previously but not for years.

    • +1

You can't subtract any parts, only upgrade.

    • +1

I don't know about TechFast specifically but the other regular system builders featured on OzBargain such as BPC and Nebula have mentioned in previous deals that they're happy to ship pre-built systems without a GPU.

    • sell the gpu

    • +5

Thanks for the reply all. It's also great getting negged for a simple question. The OzB way.

    • +3

That a no brainer, Dell every day of the week. 🥴

      • -2

        thanks.

        • You're trolling right?

          • -2

@aaronmr: No, I'm looking at replacing my Optiplex 9020

    • +4

Dell one for sure. For the same price u can buy 5 Dell and hire 5 office guys and give u better return than this 4080 super deal

    • If you need a GPU, this is better.

      • -3

        I already have a GPU.

        • +1

Will it fit in the Dell ?

          • @congo: The GPU is in my current Dell.

            • -1

@jv: Then you don't need this.

              • @congo: I need to upgrade soon.

                • @jv: What GPU is it?

                  • @congo: GTX 1650 low profile

                    • +1

                      @jv: Then get this.

                      • @congo: Then I'll have two GPUs.

                        • +1

@jv: Yes, if you want to upgrade, you will end up with 2 GPUs

                    • @jv: If its a low profile then its using a low profile bracket. You may need to source a replacement bracket.

The next thing you need to check is if the Dell supplied GPU isnt using custom Dell connections. For example, in the past ive seen them do things during manufacturing to prevent people from being able to use their stuff in non dell machine. You may want to check on this.

The 1650 is really not going to do anything for you. If your serious about upgrading, the new card would be all you need. The 1650 would be a joke unless you need it for adding additional screens.

                      • -1

                        @siggy213:

The 1650 would be a joke

I've had no issues with it…

                          • @[Deactivated]:

Then don’t worry about upgrading soon?

I need to move onto Win 11

          • +3

@congo: It can go in the case, but everything else will need to be taken out.

  • +2

    Why only 16gb ram?

    • +1

Helps to get this under $3k which is what will lure a lot of ppl

    • +1

Pay him +200$ and he'l add 16gb extra

      • +1

Or go the 14900kf get a much better system and only pay $89.

    • -1

Why not? how many things need more these days?

      • Can get 32GB for less than $200 already lol, wouldn't be much of a saving tbh

        • The point is almost nothing needs that extra ram currently for the average user and is unlikely to in the foreseeable future as apps and games target the majority not the tiny minority with more than 16GB, so it is wasted expense to default to more. Reminds me of people that use the term "future proof" which is just a justification for paying more than you need to in the hope that one day it might be useful before you stop using it.

          • @gromit: If you are playing a modern resource intensive game and also using a browser to look up guides etc, you get pretty damn close to 16gb these days.

Even things like Steel Series Sonar can eat over 1gb of RAM, which is something even new PC users will likely run if they have that brand of headphones.
            It unfortunately all adds up.

In all honesty, RAM is cheap these days. Unless you are just running games and nothing else, it's probably safer to get the extra buffer: software developers are getting less efficient with code.

    • Probably because 16gb are much cheaper when bundled from the distributors, considering almost nobody building themselves are using 16gb, and these 8gb modules pretty much are only for the worst builds out there (low capacity, garbage oc potential, high latency)

  • +1

If the two Intel mobo's are wifi mobo's this deal is phenomenal. Just upgrade ram and cooler and you have yourself a fairly perfect build.
The and ones are less appealing here

    • +1

Confirmed they are both WiFi models.

      • -4

Description from AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D link - under motherboard specifies otherwise… "Does not feature on-board WiFi."

        MOTHERBOARD
AMD B650 motherboard compatible with AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. 4-DIMM DDR5 (RAM) slots. Features two M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 inputs, GbE LAN. Does not feature on-board WiFi. A second PCIE device (e.g. network card, installed post-purchase) will not fit with RTX 3070 graphics cards and above.

        • +2

Luke only confirmed that the Intel mobo's were WiFi models…

          • @Raedz: Ah i see. My mistake. Well then the intel variant is more appealing then

      • Just want to check; the boards say that are compatable with 13th Gen CPUs but the i9-14900KF is a 14th Gen CPU?

        • Pretty much the same chipset

  • These are insane value, im tempted to even splash out however waiting till next year for a full build
Have sent these links to a few friends who are looking

  • Any chance I can get the intel i9 build without a GPU? I'm trying to build a somewhat 'futureproof' workstation PC, but don't have quite that budget and would rather keep using my dinky GTX 1080 until I can afford a new card. :)

    • +1

Sorry we’re only doing complete systems at this stage

      • All good! Thanks!

    • Wouldn’t bother future proofing cpus right now considering arrow lake (a huge process node improvement from 14th gen (Intel 7 to 20a) and zen 5 coming out.

  • Finally .. Thanks. Bought i9

    • Nice!!

      • Haven't bought a pre built PC in like 30 years so hope it doesn't disappoint.

I noticed the option to ship with the GPU not installed. Is this recommended? Do you guys put padding inside to support the card?
If it is recommended, can you amend my order?

        • I'd ship it separate and install yourself, minimises any chance of damage dramatically.

        • Can do, just need order details. We put solid protective packaging in and it has transit insurance included, but some people prefer to remove the risk altogether.

          • @luketechfast: Is it possible to have the gpu not installed and placed with padding inside the case to be shipped? Rather than being shipped separately (higher chance of it being thrown around)

    • +1

Well… this GPU is super and the other isn't.

      • +1

Not much difference GPU wise, possibly a mere 3%.

        • Yes and a mere $300.

  • +4

Bought the i5 and RX 7600 ITX build on 19th Jan - still have not got any updates from TechFast. Any updates on my order?

    • +1

      This sounds familiar…

    • The remainder should be shipped this week which would be inside 10 business days - if you give me an order number I can double check for you.

    • Did you contact them and they didnt reply? Why use comment section as a support?

  • Any chance of 6000mhz ram or to know what timings they are?

  • +29

    Hi Luke

Can I get a response to my email?

I sent one 3 days ago and one this morning and still no response.

Ive been without a computer for 5 weeks because of the faulty motherboard.

The least you can do is give me updates

    • +19

Don't know why this was negged. Good to know when there's poor support from a vendor.

    • Can I please have an order number or some way to identify you so I can take it up with the Support team? I can't match an ozb username to anything. Thanks!

      • Hi Luke

        My order number is TF4765882631

        • Thanks, on it

        • +2

My understanding is that this was related to an older / end of life generation motherboard, which the manufacturer had been super tardy on handling, so we've figured out another solution for you on this one.

    • +1

Congrats on what was a 3-4x negged post to start with, being the most upvoted post on the thread so far!

  • Any possibility to replace the 360mm Liquid cooling in the i9 deal with an Air cooler equivalent? Also estimated time for completion/dispatch for unit? TYIA

    • +1

The chunkier air coolers with higher TDP capacity don't ship well putting so much weight perpendicular to the motherboard, so we only use AIOs for i9s. Nothing stopping you swapping once you receive though, as long as it's done correctly.

  • @TechFast
Ordered the 7800X3D one.Is there any chance to pick it up Adelaide locally?

    • +1

Thanks! Yes, you can pick it up and we'll refund the shipping fee. Please email [email protected] to arrange.

      • Thanks very much.email sent.

        • What a good time to be a gamer in Adelaide! No shipping from Tech fast!

  • where are they located, do they have pickup option?

    • We're in Adelaide. You can pick it up and we'll refund the shipping fee - just checkout with shipping applied as normal. Please email [email protected] to arrange if you're local.

      • Hi Luke, I can't seem to find where you are located exactly. Would you be able to tell me which suburb you are? I would also be looking to pick up.

Also, is there a white case option by any chance if I were to purchase the 14900KF build? It's for my wife and she really wants white. Thank you.

  • +2

looking on PC part picker a

Intel Core i9-14900KF processor + RTX 4080 Super 16GB (PNY Verto) is like $2.6k+

if the package deal is ~$2.9k what margins am i missing here? is bulk buy just that great?

    • You aren't missing anything. They buy heaps of the same product and ship prebuilts which means they can get much better pricing than we can.

  • Deepcool AG400 not currently showing on 14700F, FYI

    • +1

      Thanks, added.

  • +3

    Hi Luke,

Any chance for an upgraded mobo that has wifi onboard for the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D build?

    Cheers

    • +2

I've added the X670 which has WiFi (MSI X670-P WiFi on hand) - it is an expensive solution but is both an upgrade and has WiFi. As far as B650s with on board WiFi go there aren't all that many available at the moment which is why most sellers are using the MSI board as we are. We offer a USB WiFi if that helps too.

      • +2

Not sure if anyone is getting same issue. But the mobo option is not showing anything (including the B650 motherboard).

        • +3

Neither, can you please let us know when it's up in the systems Luke. Thanks!

      • Still waiting for you to add X670 to the motherboard options. It's blank right now.

      • Hi @luketechfast X670 upgrade option is still only showing as an option on the 7500 build, and not the 7800 build.

  • Is there possibility of an upgrade to 7950X (non 3D)?
How much extra would that be?

    • We do have a couple on hand, would have to work out a price separately if you can email [email protected]

      • sent an email yesterday too luke.

  • +3

Hey Luke, the description for the i9 deal says 4070 ti rather than 4080 super, im guessing this is a typo? Also any option to pay more for a 6000+ ram?
