      To apply for an American Express Velocity Business Card you need to:
      Be aged 18 years or over
      Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
      Be a Director or Controller of the business
      Have a good credit history and no payment defaults
      Have an annual business revenue of $75,000 or more
      Have a valid ABN registered for GST

      Information to have ready:
      Your personal income and your business revenue
      Your driver’s licence (if you have one)
      The details of your business’ ownership as it appears on ASIC (for the Director and/or Beneficial Owner)

      Great question actually… I filled in the form until a statement that the card only can be used for business expenses n investment (except real estate). I decided not to continue since I don't think we spend more than 5K in 2 months. Having said that, how would they know if the transactions are biz or not.

      I received mine today and called. They confirmed that I was eligible for the points bonus but I think it was because I’d been a customer for almost 20 years.

    My last Amex business card they didn't even ask for proof of turnover. I think if you have history with them they are extremely relaxed on approvals.

        They had issues with id verification so they called us a few times. The bonus points show up as soon as you spend over the minimum.

      Took me 5 weeks from after hitting point spend (with lots of emails and barely any replies). The gold benefit gives you up to 12 mths to allocate to a velocity member, which is handy as don't intend to use it immediately.

          Just been on chat with AMEX, 1st rep linked me the card benefit page and said here it is…
          2nd rep tells me to ask Velocity for gold since they have access to it….
          I remember a time AMEX used to have good CS

          Yeah, need to sign up to velocity business (I did this just after hitting my initial spend) and link your velocity personal. Then multiple emails sent to velocity business team for the business account to be jumped to tier 2. Once on tier 2, you get the ability to allocate velocity gold onto any linked personal velocity accounts (which I have 12mths to do, haven't allocated it yet).

            @oldmate78: Awesome thanks for the info, very handy. I applied for my business account ~1.5 weeks ago but haven't heard anything from them, so sent a follow up email yesterday. What was your time frame from applying to creation? Also applied for the wife's business account yesterday. Have already hit both spends though so time is of the essence!
