Who’s buying these pos cars ?

    • I ask myself the same question when I see a post about Teslas or any other electric vehicle for that matter.

    • +3

      People on a budget.
People who don't want to buy used.
People who don't care about reputation, heritage, performance.

      • +4

People who think "it's good because it's cheap," ie people who then need to buy another car 4 years later and spend twice what they planned.

        • +2

You're just assuming it's going to be undriveable in 4 years.

          It's also got a 7 year warranty.

          • @The Value: good (profanity) luck trying to get ahold of them for that warranty call.

They're POS now to try organise early.

      • +1

I would rather buy a 2000 toyota camry… guaranteed to outlast any Chery

    • +2

      People mistyping "Chevy" into Google

      (…and Saints supporters)

    • the same people buying kia 15 years ago

    • NPCs love em

  • +6

Pros: You get a fuel card and $500 worth of accessories
Cons: Haha now you have to drive around in a Chery

    • This ∆

  • I won't buy a Chinese made car…there I said it.

    • +1

People said the said about Japanese cars back in the day. Now Toyota has four of the top-10 selling models globally and are the gold standard for hybrids.
Then people said the same about the Koreans. They've come a long way from the 13k Driveaway Excel. Now they're making solid hot hatches that can compete against the VW Golf.
China already make 77% of EV batteries. Established brands like VW can't compete and are moving production to China.
Fast forward a decade or 2 and refusing to buy a Chinese made car your options are going to be limited. Even if it's not a Chinese brand it's more than likely going to have Chinese parts.

      • China is known for producing crap.
        They are our geopoltical opponents.
Its pretty clear these cars are junk.

        • -1

Careful, your social credit score is looking low

        • -1

Are you for real? Look around your room and think what of it is made in China.

          • -1

@EconomicDecline: Alright man, you made a really good arguement.

Buy the most expensive and depreciative asset a person can own, from china

            • -1

              @TsunamiInTheHouse: Ok. I'll bite.

I'll pick Apple products. They're considered the premium end for phones, computers, etc.

Tell me. Where are they assembled? Where are there components manufactured? Where are the materials for those components made? Where are the raw materials for those materials refined?

              • -1

@EconomicDecline: You're either not smart enough to be worth talking to or aruging in bad faith.

                Whats your end game?

                • -1

@TsunamiInTheHouse: That you're racist. End story. Bye

                  • -1

@EconomicDecline: Im racist because i wont buy a chinese car?
You must be an mental gymnastics olympian.

                    • -1

@TsunamiInTheHouse: "China is known for producing crap."

Just categorically wrong and racist. Even in your pet argument about cars. Take Tesla for instance. It's a known fact the build quality of the cars made in China are far better than those made in the USA.

                      Just take the L, man.

                      • -1

@EconomicDecline: Why are zoomers so obsessed with zero sum games and taking L's
Is that because they've become accumsomed to being submissive?
You're 100% right btw, im super racist for not buying a peice of shit suv from china.
I just wish i could get that fuel voucher
So i can burn rubber outside your house with my aftermarket exhaust.

                        • -1

@TsunamiInTheHouse: Lol at calling me a zoomer because I don't have a rabid hatred for China, and hence can point out where you're categorically wrong.

Real boomer mindset there. Go and call people "woke" like you've been told.

      • Thats ok. I will buy chinese car 10 years or 20 years later but not now.

      • Sorry but the Japanese were known for their quality products back in the day and that followed suit with their vehicles. The same can't be said for the Chinese stuff.

FYI I drive LDVs at work and my god they are total junk. Impressive on paper and that's about it

      • Japan has never been the land of shortcuts and facades.

Japan were not making good cars back then because they were new at it, genuinely learning and upskilling.

I don’t quite have confidence china wants to make better cars.

    • That’s so ra…tionalist

  • I'm seeing heaps of these and Haval on the road lately!

    • My brother got one - interesting to see how it goes long term

  • +2

I ain't gonna pop my cheery to a Chinese company

  • Read that as Chevy initially

  • Chery Tiggo 7 Pro sounds like something a crappy generative AI made up

    • but but but….it has Pro in the name!

      • Not the Pro Max 15 smdh

    • Cherry (Tiggo, Omoda), BUILD YOUR DREAMS (DOLPHIN, SEAL, ATTO) like wtf are these names?

      • You know what's a great name? Kia Tasman. That's a great name for a ute.

  • +10

Drove my Chery to the leree but the leree was dry.

    • LOL, made me think of this, albeit less famous, one…

      'Hello Daddy, hello Mom
      I'm your ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-Chery bomb'

  • Popped my SUV chery. Feels good

  • I kept reading that title as get free KFC when buying a Chery

  • Pretty much same deals available without a sporting club membership from Chery Dealership in Parramatta, NSW, on south end of Church Street. Previously known as Auto Alley.

  • Funny offer given how bad people are saying the omada's fuel economy is. I am however intetested in their Icar03 electric if it were to come here.
