this deal is back $17.50 ea

Usually the white ones are cheaper. Good amount of updoots last time posted so thought I’d share it again. I’m planning to buy these and gorilla tape them to my tv remotes since they always tend to go walk about…

Must tick $20 coupon.

Yes you can get cheaper on ALI.

  • Kogan actually sells them for $54.99 if you are a member

    • Looks to be just the white ones though? Not sure why colour actually matters. I was just going off upvote popularity. I posted the white ones a few months ago at 49.99

  • how good do these work for baggage for overseas travel?

    • In my limited testing, this is what they are perfect for.

In testing a tile and an Airtag in suburban Sydney, the tracking was highly variable. In an airport where there are lots of people with iPhones, the tag is more likely to get pinged.

      • so does this work with iphone and android? and if it pings less than iphone does it become useless in an airport?

        • iOS only

        • To track luggage, pinging less often is not an issue unless your bag got stolen and it's now on the move.

Higher frequency pinging is useful to track stolen vehicles. Lost luggage isn't constantly on the move.

    • I’d prob buy the ridgey didge ones if for travel. These are just the general area ones. The apple ones are more precise.

      • wait if this is IOS only does that mean it has the same accuracy?

        • +1

The genuine AirTag is the only one with precision finding these ones that Jimothy posted are like he said before ‘general area ones’

          • @J B S: is general area good enough for airport tracking?

            • @Roe Jogan: Some ppl say it is but I would buy AirTag or Samsung ones to protect your luggage if it was me. A single AirTag is $50 and I think the battery lasts over a year.

  • Does this have the exact functionality of Apple's Airtag?

    • What do you mean?

    • +1

I think these knock-offs only have bluetooth pinging, not ultra wideband.

    • Op said earlier there not the same as an AirTag, these ones don’t have precision finding like Apple does

  • $56.99 for kogan non members (white one)

OP, for remote controls and things around the house, I'm leaning towards the $2.50 cheapos on AliExpress. They would let you run the app on your phone and walk around the house looking for them, as long as they haven't left your house.

I also looked into using UHF RFID tags, but I couldn't find a reasonable reader/antenna setup that wouldn't have required me to write/tweak the software myself.

Have you tried the Ali Express ones? If so can you recommend a model please? Keen for a similar use case.

      • +1

No, I haven't yet. I was recently looking for a solution for finding various things around my house.

I bought some from Lazada since my dad was there. Comparing Lazada to Aliexpress prices, man we're still getting ripped off here. Got 3 for $5, will hopefully get it tomorrow

You can get them for $6.50 on Ali express each for visibly the same product. Came in less than 10 days.

    • Can’t just say that without links?
And what about warranty? AliExpress is great for things that you normally wouldn’t need warranty for

      • +1

Haven’t failed for me and havent seen comments on the product to that point. If it arrives broken Ali express are good and I doubt it’s going to fail over time, pretty basic item. Works identically to the chipotle spot I have too. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006119050402.html

D these start ringing if they have left a home area or will they alert an apple device that they are being tracked? Had AirTags recently and the not so smart thieves eventually realised they had stolen a tracker. If they didn’t ping or alert apple devices I may have got my gear back..

    • -1

I have airtags and it alerts Android phones too.

  • Just trying to understand, Airtags, Samsung Smart tags, tile have good user base, why would someone use these if it can't help other than bluetooth? you can't use these for luggage, vehicle etc any thought? ot does these provide same functionaly like air tags?

    • These work within the Apple AirTag ecosystem, so you're able to take advantage of all the Apple devices around you to find lost devices.

The disadvantage compared to genuine Apple AirTags are the lack of precision location data. It appears Apple doesn't allow any 3rd parties to use this feature.

      • Apple developed a special chip called U1, which adds spatial awareness to its devices. The Apple Airtags have U1, which allow precise location tracking. 3rd parties do not have U1 chipset.

        • are these good enough for travel and tracking luggage?

  • Do these have a louder alarm/ringer than Apple AirTags? I wish Airtags had a loud ringer like Tiles, I prefer the FindMy ecosystem, but the speaker is just useless in Airtags.

These are the same as the $6.50 ones from AliExpress. Someone had I cry last time I suggested they buy from AliExpress over Amazon. The Amazon sellers buy this same stuff from Alibaba and put it up on Amazon and pump up the marketing and price accordingly. AliExpress delivery is fast if you choose choice sellers. Normally delivered within 10 days.

Too bad theres no Samsung tag clones otherwise I'd buy. Perhaps I'll try out the $6.50 cheapies but got my sub $5 proper 4G Sim enabled GPS from the other Amazon deal so I'll go with that.

    • There seems to be some u der z dollar too. Do they work?

  • +2

Is there any equivalent working for Android ecosystem?
