  • Was about to go off on inkjet but cartridge free sounds interesting… anyone have experience with these? Are they good?

Check past comments, been on the lookout for an ecotank printer too. Dont know if this is the one to pull the trigger for.

Our ET-2700 Ecotank is 3 years old bought from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/600959
As home printers go its been the most reliable printer we've had

Ink still 50% and nozzles haven't clogged from to little printing.

    • I have this from over a year. They are more than good, can't think of buying anything else in future if needed.

We've been very happy with our HP version of these. So glad that prices are finally coming down!

    • They are very good. Quality is decent and very cheap to run.

Would have been fantastic if it were multifunction!

      yeah no scanner :/

the next model which has scanning (ET-2810) is $255

  • Bought one. We have been looking for a printer for a while now. Thanks OP

I have one of these. They honestly suck b@ll$ IMO.

No airprint and are a pain to connect to wifi in your house.

Fine if you want a basic printer connected to your PC via USB - but in all honesty it aint the best.

    • you can connect it to your wifi router via powerline ethernet adapters and it will be on your network accessible to all devices.

    • Mine was easy to connect to wifi though. What was the issue?

My brother inkvestment has dried up even though I've always kept it powered. Is Epson any better?

    • My ET-3800 hasn't dried up but it's used regularly.

    • I've had EcoTanks for many years now and never had ink dry up…

I print something from my ecotank every couple of weeks, just on draft quality so I'm not using too much ink but still keeping the nozzles clean. No problems so far.

      • just on draft quality so I'm not using too much ink

So you are using 0.020 cents worth of ink instead of 0.025 cents

    • We hadnt used colour printing for ages (maybe a year lol) and when i tried printing a photo it came out all blue a couple of times. Did the nozzle head print check and turns out red and yellow were slightly clogged.

Easy fix after a quick google using the power clean mode and now it works fine. Cant remember where i saw it but i vaguely remember reading that it uses quite abit of ink to clear out any clogs so better not to let it clog.

Just have to remind myself to do a color print every now and then.
Cheap ink refills so pretty pleased with it!

      • reading that it uses quite abit of ink to clear out any clogs so better not to let it clog.

That is only if you do a power clean.

Normally a standard nozzle clean will fix the problem, and that doesn't use too much ink.

    • They dry up if you don't use them. Threw mine out.

  • Does anyone know if you can pay with flybuys $ if ordering online at Officeworks?

  • Not used one before but looks like dye ink? Probably good for immediate presentation but not for extended storage, and remember to keep your prints away from moisture/water.

  • Got one thanks for sharing mate!

  • I tank printer?
Glad to find prices do tank.
