  wow.. this must be a error? its supposed to be 1.5mm… 1.0mm is adequate for lighting in houses but NOT for power points.

    Agree. General power needs to be 1.5mm2. If it is 1.0mm2, then it can't be SAA approved.

    In anycase, I don't see this as a deal. 10m heavy duty extension cables are normally $10 at Bunnings, etc. Better off buying from a reputible retail store (not that I'm saying this online store is no good, but I'd buy from a major retail store over a small online store if the price is similar.   1.0mm2 is standard duty and typical for domestic power cords. 1.5mm2 is considered heavy duty.

    Your right. Hard wiring needs to be 1.5mm2, but general extension leads need to be min 1.0mm2. However, they state this is a heavy duty power lead which needs to be 1.5mm2. Definately not heavy duty - better to buy a heavy duty one for the same price elsewhere.

  Not heavy duty, just a standard extension lead. Average price for an extension lead, and that's before shipping.
