50% off Food Bill- The Silk Road, Ardross (WA) Sun, Tue, Wed, Thu, Ends 19/11/12

20

I've been meaning to go to this place for ages, but it's pricey, so I've put it off. Entertainment Book gives 25% off, but this looks way better if you're not planning on spending lots on drinks (this deal is food only, and no BYO with this offer).

From the Dimmi Website (must book through Dimmi to get the deal)
50% off Modern Asian Dining

The reason for the restaurant's name is clear from a glance at the menu, which traverses Asia. Start off your culinary journey with the tasting platter (featuring spring rolls, samosas and wantons with sweet chilli), then move on to the Assam fish or the Hong Kong roast duck. The dessert menu veers away from the Asian theme a little, including such distinctly Western sweets as a big slab of chocolate mud cake.. Get 50% off your food bill - Book Now!

Days: Sun, Tue, Wed, Thu 11:30 AM - 9:15 PM
Valid: 23 Oct 2012 - 19 Nov 2012

  • $22 for 2 Sang CHoi Bao.
    $26 for Nasi Goreng.
    $27 for Char Kway Teow.
    $29 for Beef Rendang.
$26 for ONE PIECE of Roti Prata with Vege Curry.

I shall wait for a 75% off offer.

    • Yep, definitely not food court prices! My favourite char kuay teow in Perth is still the $9 one at Newton Circle ;)

      • I thought they'd disappeared! Brilliant!

        • The lines at midday still stretch around the corner, and the little old lady will still expectantly look up and ask "spicy????", and you will say "yes" ;) If they had an evening restaurant I would be there all the time!

        • Need an ozbargain deal for T-Shirts that say 'No Spicy', 'No And Then!'

      • Thanks for the heads up on this one. I will have to try.

Looks like normal Perth prices to me :-(

  • Start off your culinary journey with the tasting platter then move on to the Assam fish or the Hong Kong roast duck.

Is this just a suggestion, or is it effectively a set menu to get the discount?
It sounds like a suggestion, but appears as an imperative in the deal summary.

I have been to this restaurant before, probably with entertainment book, and it was very good, but more than my ususal budget.
    Definitely not a food court!.

    • Yeah, definitely mixed reviews, but most of them seem to criticise the high prices more than anything, which is why I'm keen to try them with a big discount first! The venue looks really beautiful at least from the outside :)

      I love this review…

My date and I went to the Silk Road expecting really good food and were even more enticed by the Food Award displayed outside. We ordered a Tom Yum Soup for entree. We were disappointed that the soup came with only ONE shrimp and requested the waitress to provide more given the price of the dish (around $18). The waitress even dared asking if we were expecting more than one to which we replied politely 'YES'. She came back to tell us that as it was an entree the soup would only come with ONE shrimp! How disappointed!! Overpriced meal! Bad service. Don't waste your money…you will get more value eating at a cheaper restaurant.

…Even on a DATE he will b!tch about the lack of prawns.

      • I was on a date once at a cafe, and they took my plate away while I was still eating (albeit slowly), and I was too embarrassed to say anything and look desperate for those last couple of mushrooms! So yeah, that takes guts ;)

  • I got this reply :

Thank you so much for your booking. This email is to inform that we are fully licensed and do not allow BYO drinks on the 50% off food offer.
    Kind regards, Terence Quah

Wine list starts at $40 for something you never heard of. + vote rescinded.

    • Ew, no BYO? Jerks. I'll update :(
