      I highly doubt it.

      • It is against the terms and conditions of all gift cards issued by Woolworths Group to use them as a payment method for gift cards.

      • If you scan a gift card to purchase, go to the payment screen, select Gift Card as a payment method and swipe/scan/enter a gift card issued by Woolworths Group, you should get an Items Not Allowed error (or something along those lines).

      • If you attempt to use Everyday Pay as a payment method in a transaction where you trying to purchase a gift card and go to the payment screen, you should get an Items Not Allowed error (or something along those lines). You are not able to use Everyday Pay to purchase any gift cards, even if your Everyday Pay payment source is merely a bank card.

      Feel free to give it a go if you want, but considering many OzBargainers (including me) have encountered the errors in the past few years, I am extremely doubtful it would work if you try.

    How does the TCN Gift work at Uber eats? Do I use it as a payment method? Or can I somehow swap the Gift card for Uber eats gift cards and add the UE gift card to my account?

      To use your gift card online, simply swap it for an Uber Eats voucher. Fill out your details, choose an amount between $20 - $500, and the Uber Eats voucher will be sent to your nominated email address. Once the swap is completed, the selected amount will be deducted from your physical gift card.

      *Multiple gift card codes can be used per transaction on the Uber Eats website.

        FYI the pub & bar gift card also works at restaurants, but not at fast food. Basically identical to the Good Food gift card
        Note I've tested it with the digital version. Theoretically the physical version should be the same merchants except those that don't accept card swipe payments. There is an option on this page to swap physical cards (Eftpos) for the digital version (Mastercard).

            @cloudy: The MCC List is your friend. When used directly, it will work on Ubereats and Doordash as they are listed as restaurants (5812), Menulog will work depending on the store. Liven unfortunately categorise themselves as Fast Food, so it will not work. Others like EatClub and The Pass will also work.

                @wildstone: As mentioned above they should be the same. Do you remember if they were using Square terminals? Wookie covered this previously that Square terminals do not like Eftpos swipe payments

                Other than that, hard to say why they declined without seeing what merchant code they are using (The TCN app tells you). Some merchants can use completely unrelated codes if the payment terminal is not configured correctly. In my experience Square terminals are also notorious for having the wrong MCC configured. It's also not uncommon for restaurants to use the Fast Food code even if they aren't actually fast food.

                These reasons are the cause for most payment rejections from my experience.

                  @wangasm: No, they use the conventional EFTPOS machine that you swipe your EFTPOS card on the right side of the machine. I then used another EFTPOS card to pay and it worked.

                  I too noticed with the new Square terminals, they do not like EFTPOS cards even some has a swipe feature built into their terminal.

                  Yeah I kind of have bad experience with the Bar and Pub card. Two out of two that I tried, they both showed declined. Would it be any different in regards to MCC if I convert them to digital version?

                    @wildstone: There will unlikely be any difference with the digital version. But you will be able to confirm what MCC the restaurant is using.

      I would say you are right, because:

      • I have never seen any TCN GIFT or TCN Pub & Bar gift cards sold at Woolworths or Woolworths Metro in any denominations above $100.

      • The instore posters only show TCN GIFT gift cards in $30 and $50 denominations, plus TCN Pub & Bar gift cards in $50 denominations.

      • I have checked two Woolworths stores today and could only find TCN GIFT and Pub & Bar gift cards in the denominations I listed in the above dot point.

      Just like pretty much every single instore deal for gift cards at Woolworths (and Woolworths Metro), this deal was originally advertised in the weekly catalogue. Instore deals for gift cards at Woolworths and Woolworths Metro (and BIG W) are rarely advertised through the Everyday Rewards app.

      Are there likely to be cards in stock?

      It depends on which gift cards you are referring to.

      • TCN GIFT: it is hard to say, because it depends on how eager people are for gift cards that can be spent at JB Hi-Fi or eBay. For previous deals on TCN GIFT gift cards, some Woolworths stores have them in stock, whereas others do not. It also depends on whether a Woolworths store restocks their gift card shelves with TCN GIFT gift cards during this deal.
      • TCN Pub & Bar: yes.
      • TCN Pamper: yes.
      • Google Play: yes.

    I have just purchased some TCN Gift cards from Woolworths. Went to TCN, checked the balance on the gift cards and ensured that funds have been loaded onto them.
    However, when I try to swap the gift card to ebay voucher, it will NOT let me do that. It shows an error "Please check your Card Number and try again. Or contact us for assistance."

    Anyone also having problems?

              To check whether a GIFT card is actually a GIFT card or a TEEN card, you will need to look at the gift card number printed just above the long barcode on the back of the physical gift card:

              GIFT cards are supposed to have a card number starting with 5021 2510 286

              TEEN cards are supposed to have a card number starting with 5021 2510 273

              If you have a GIFT card with a card number starting with 5021 2510 273, you have actually purchased a TEEN card that has been incorrectly labelled. Please be mindful of this, particularly if you’re looking to use the GIFT card at retailers only on the GIFT card.

              I confirmed mine has the correct number for a GIFT card. Still not able to swap for eBay about 2 hours after purchase.

      I've figured out a solution to swap TCN Gift to retailer voucher.

      Go to https://www.eftpos.gift/homepage#register to register your TCN card first.
      Or go from TCN Gift page. Under the page title, there are three links: Purchase, How to use, and Register. Click Register.

      Scroll down to "Register Your Gift Card" section if it doesn't scroll for you.
      Once submitted, the page will scroll once again and show the message below the Check Balance section. This message is something like:
      Register online
      Thank you for registering your card
      Your current balance is $30.00

      Once registered, I was able to swap to JB voucher.

      I tried here https://thecardnetwork.com.au/pages/register-multi-choice-ca… from previous discussion thread but it didn't work. Fortunately this one works.

    I always check the docket says that each card was activated and I keep the docket.
    Interestingly the docket also says the number of EDR points earnt on your purchase. Which is a good way to check whether you earnt the 20x.

    My local woolies never puts on promo sign so always plenty of stock. Bought 10 tcn gift. However something has changed as it asks for staff approval each time after 5th card, while in the past (at least 3 months ago) it only asked for one bulk approval right before payment.
