  • Not much details in the spec, I expect this is very similar to popular chinese tablets, I think there is a an australia warranty for items purchased here locally.

  • Only worth $99 if it is a dual core CPU.

    • Not really, at least if you take this back because it's a lemon you'll get a refund, or at worst a credit (unlike dodgy interwebs stores). That's worth quite a bit.

From the various forums they sound like a cheap and cheerful tablet.

  • Hopefully it's similar specwise to the Ainol Novo 7 Crystal or Aurora series.

That surely would make it worth it.

    • Let see tomorrow but I would still think it is a single core CPU.

  • •Powered by Google 4.0

Wonder if there is an upgrade for my Google v 1.0 ?

  • Can anybody post the screen resolution? if it is 800x480, no deal.

  • -1

Its a bad tablet btw. Old OS and it cannot run many of the android store applications.
Do not buy if you want it for anything more then a video player and web browser (a slow one at that).

    • thank you for clear advice

    • Just went to look at them. This is a new model, not the same 7" Audiosonic that they used to have running Android 2.2. This one runs 4.0 and does have Market access. I'd have grabbed one but there's no video output and for our use that's a requirement.

As a point of interest, the salesperson checked and $99 is the regular price, not sale price. It's only listed in the catalogue as it's a new line, not because it's on special.

  • I just bought one of these this morning (Greensborough, for the stalkers)

The screen isn't very bright, but it is going to work perfectly well for what I want it.

One interesting note, is on the box it says it has 4GB storage, but at least 2GB of this has vanished once I have checked the settings of the machine.

And no, I haven't played Angry Birds on it yet.

    • Any other details off the box that aren't already mentioned above? (Just added the 4GB).

Also 2GB missing sounds about right, OS, apps, probably a reserved area as well etc.

    • What type of CPU, OS version, resolution etc please.

    • That seems typical. Half the memory is used by the operating system and the rest is available as storage.

  • +2

resolution is 800 x 480. it is a 15 x 9 aspect ratio, so more widescreen aspect ratio than an ipad.
processor is the prestigious Rockchip Rk2906
runs Google Android 4.0 out of the box.
    512MB RAM
5 point capacitive touch screen (quite responsive in my experience)
0.3 megapixel camera, and it's front facing
    802.11 b/g/n wifi
    definite Google Market access

(and angry birds works well on it - no lag)

    • You sure it is not the old model running Android 2.2? The lady showed me that one instead this morning.

      • definitely 4.0.4
        model T07B

and the screen is pretty shocking to look at from a wide angle.

I bought the Kaiser Baas media player from JB Hi-FI a few months ago, and its screen is VASTLY superior to this Audiosonic unit. The KB one is bigger, brighter, more saturated colours, better in every way (but is a completely different unit of course - I'm just commenting on the screen)

        • OK thanks for the details, I will skip this one for the time being.

  • Between the Audiosonic 7" and the Pendo Pad 7" which you buy, wanting to purchase for my 2 grandchildren aged 6yrs and 7 yrs

  • Hi. I'd like to use a 1 terabyte harddrive with it, will it work on this tablet?
