Upgrade nbn FTTN/FTTC to FTTP & Get $40/M off for 6 Months: 100/20 $44.90/M, 250/25 $64.90/M, 1000/50 $84.90/M @ Tangerine

140

Was looking to upgrade my NBN and came across this older post. Turns out price is $5 lower than before and its valid until 31 Dec 2023. Have slightly copy pasted the description from previous deal with updated terms and conditions.

Have put in the upgrade and asked for an End of Dec date but tangerine have sent an email stating they'll be switching our phone line next week instead… after the sales guy confirmed multiple times it'll be done on the date requested. So not sure what's happening here. Price is okay otherwise. Might be a nightmare dealing with their issues.

This discount is only for those upgrading from nbn FTTN to FTTP (100/20 or faster) or nbn FTTC to FTTP (250/25 or faster). Search for your address and if eligible for the nbn FTTP technology upgrade, the discounted plans will be displayed.

Plan Speed Price RRP (price after 6 months)
Speedy FTTP 100/20 $44.90/M $84.90/M
Superspeedy FTTP 250/25 $64.90/M $104.90/M
Ultraspeedy FTTP 1000/50 $84.90/M $124.90/M

This offer provides eligible new and existing Tangerine customers with a $0 upgrade from a fibre to the node (FTTN) or fibre to the curb (FTTC) nbn® connection to a faster fibre to the premises (FTTP) nbn® connection, in combination with a discount of $40 a month off the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of an eligible Tangerine nbn® plan for 6 months from the date of activation, where a customer meets the following eligibility criteria:
a. The customer must have an existing FTTN or FTTC service at an address that has been identified by NBN Co as being eligible for an upgrade to FTTP;
b. The customer must initiate an upgrade to their existing service from FTTN or FTTC to FTTP by ordering an eligible new Tangerine nbn® plan between 1 April 2023 and 31 December 2023; and
c. The customer must complete the nbn® installation process for their FTTP service by 31 March 2024

"Beware of the 'First 6 Months'; if you started at the end of a month, it still counts as a full month."

No it doesn't… Your anniversary is the date of activation.

Cheap prices, but I've found Tangerine to be the worst provider I've used with my FTTP connection (ABB, Superloop, Mate, Belong)

Tangerine customer support one day even advised me to join Belong (no doubt for his own sweet comish), they put instructions into an email of exact dates to port over to their sister company, which I followed at their advice. Then Tangerine have continued to bill me after the port to Belong.

Personally, I'm kind of looking forward to the escalation on their side if it happens and going to the TIO seeing as they put their instructions in writing to me.

    YMMV

GGGRREEEAATTT I can get $240 off the upgrade that's going to cost me $9000 at the moment…

    Thanks NBNco….

Oh wow, they're offering to install fiber cables along my street to my house? How kind of them!

    • +1

Might join up and let them do the same.

  • More (combank) nbn prices have increased. I was going to churn to them from tangerine.

  • +1

I won't use them anymore. They charged my account incorrectly in the last 3 times.

    • Did you get this resolved?

I'm currently having issues with them and will also never sign up to them again.

      • No, they still owe a few bucks but I don't bother anymore. They just simply lose me

I had to go to the TIO in regards to tangerine. Would never recommend them ever to anyone

  • I planned a disconnection two months prior, moved over
To another nbn provider, and tangerine still billed me for the next month. I rang them up and argued with them, and they refunded the money. That was ridiculous, they tried to blame me for the date chosen and it was their CSO who did it over the phone. A months notice in 2023 is beyond ridiculous, sort your game out Tangerine

  • I signed up for this back in August for the free FTTN to FTTH upgrade. Have had no issues, only looking to switch providers soon as my 6 month discount will be coming to an end.

  • How to get discount for first 6 months? Is there any code? I am trying to signup as a new customer for Speedy FTTP.

    • There is no code. As soon as you enter your address it will show the discounted pricing.

  • They've extended this offer to 11:59pm AEST 31 March 2024.

    • Website shows speedy as $64.90 a month not $44.90 per post.. am I missing something?

      • did you put your address in?

        • Yeah, tried doing it again same thing:

          • @Krayzii: If after putting your address in the price doesn't go down, then it means Tangerine has deemed that your address isn't eligible, or you aren't meeting the eligibility requirements for some other reason.
