  • forgot GST?

    • Doesn’t seem to charge any at checkout

If you click "Shipping method" and you see there is an option for local shipping within Australia, then the price on the item listing is final and you don't have to pay GST on top.

If you ship from overseas then there will be GST tacked on top as usual.

  • for me $28.96 USD

    • that's for the 510A - i accidentally ordered it and cancelled and now can't get the 520A :(

  • I would have jumped on this, but no H265, which is a deal breaker for me

    • Onvif 2.1 = doesn't this standard require H265? (experts please jump in)

      • Im not sure, but I'm sure they would have advertised it if it did

      • camera manufacturers implementing to standards? thats a first

I use these. Pretty good camera for the price

  • Great bang for buck PoE camera;
    Works well with Home Assistant;
Person and Vehicle detection works well, but there is no Pet detection on this.

    • Does the person and vehicle detection use its own software or is that an integration into home assistant?

      • Onboard. It's okay, but Frigate + HA is much better.

        • May i ask how you run ha? Do you use usb coral for frigate? I run mine on nas and frigate struggles with just one duo2 poe. Thanks in advance.

          • @F1Maniac: if your in the ios ecosystem, run scrypted and offload the ai onto your apple tv (one acting as homekit hub), then u can use homekit secure video. that's what I do, 6 cams all ai and frigate uses under 10% CPU on my server.

          • @F1Maniac: I run it as a HA add-on on proxmox in a micro Dell 7050 6500t.

Using openvino CPU hardware detection I get a 15ms inference with 2 cameras streaming 896x512 detection resolution.

It is built into camera but also is relayed into Home Assistant as individual sensors of the camera. So you can run automations if for example a person or vehicle is detected.

    • Very noob question, do you recommend DIY installation of these camera if you have no setup. I am not sure how wiring is done for these. Any video I should watch before I should even think of buying these.

      • Yeah DIY is a possibility depending on your skill level.
You just need to run a Cat 6 Ethernet cable from a POE switch in your network (such as TL-SG105PE or 108PE) to the camera and that’s pretty much it.
You can buy a premade cat 6 cable for easy installation or you can run a raw cable cut to length and terminate the connectors afterwards.
Have a look at YouTube for poe camera installation guides.

  • I bought some of these and are definitely bang for the buck!

  • Could i use this with the annke network system n48paw?

    520A won’t ship to WA - only the 510s - how annoying

  • 520A won’t ship to TAS either.…

seems like 520a oos, 510a still good

  • out of interest, what are people's reasons and use cases for choosing bullet or dome?

    • Im under the impression that if someone could reach up and interfere with camera then chose dome, but the video quality is better with turret.

      • i did not know that - will do some research

    • +2

No idea, but I find bullets ugly and notably more attractive to spiderwebs in my experience.

      • That is a good point. With some of my older cameras the dome ones did not perform well at night. I think the IR reflected off the glass dome

        • These ones are fine as there’s no additional glass in front of the lens/IR

For anyone after the 520A, MyDeal has them on sale for $67.49 Delivered. Best I could find.

  • Can anyone who bought from this deal confirm what firmware they have on the camera they received? Thanks.
I feel like I have an older looking web user interface on mine but the app says no updates available.
When I try to update to a firmware from the reolink website, it fails.
