    Thanks ISP.
Only thing is eBay are only offering the 1 free FVF so I guess I will just need the one postage. Still, better than a kick in the pants
I really wish they would open up and be more generous with the free listings.

No worries. I totally agree with you. Tough times :)

Sendle is Shitle. Use Australia Post.

I have recently sent 3 packages via Sendle (all posted around the same time; which is why I had 3).

1 was lost or stolen. No compensation. The drop-off location doesn't have it and says it must have been picked up. There was no courier pickup scan. Sendle thinks the courier picked it up without scanning and it's en-route for delivery. It has been two weeks and the package is still MIA. Had to issue full refund to buyer.

2 took 13 days before landing in WA. The depot is only open during work hours and is far away; there's no local collection point. The receiver asked for a refund. It's supposed to be returned to sender, but there is no tracking or timeframe.

3 took 11 days to deliver, by that time my buyer was outraged. I had to offer him a 50% partial refund to avoid a negative rating.

I've lost hundreds of dollars via Sendle. Don't do it. Back in 2018 and 2019 it was good; not anymore.

What a nightmare. I've had nothing but good experiences with Sendle but maybe I just have been lucky touch wood. I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable posting anything of high value (>$200) using them though.

      • You definitely got lucky. Both my wife and I have had past experiences of Sendle not picking our packages. Even just this week, we purchased an item off eBay and Sendle never picked it up. The seller has to cancel with Sendle and send via Auspost.

      • Sendle comes with $300 of insurance. But Sendle can do Signature on Delivery so any product over $750 will need to be shipped with Auspost.

    • +1

What a horrible experience. I know when I send something to a buyer from remote / regional areas I avoid Sendle especially when they use Aramax.

Just out of curiosity were your buyers from remote or regional areas for all 3 cases?

      • Make sure you only do Drop Off. They never picked up unless you chased them for days!

    • +1

Sendle has up to $300 cover for free if you purchase postage from eBay so if it was lost why were you not compensated?

    • The first one…

Sounds like the drop off point didn't scan it on receipt. I always ask/observe them scan it - otherwise how is anyone to know you just simply never sent it?

    • I had the same experience as you a couple of years ago with Sendle and never used them again. Sellers beware - Sendle is just plain trash. Definitely not worth the hassle of lost or delayed parcels in return for saving a few dollars over Australia Post. Stick with Australia Post

    • sendle is good for me.
sendle can do pickup, that is priceless

  • Does it include Aus Post Express?

    • I haven't used it for Express Post but it appears to be available. Under "Package" select Custom Size or Australia Post Packaging (whichever is appropriate) and key in the weight and dimensions then click out of that area to update it. Move down to "Service" and select the Australia Post button. You should now see "Australia Post Parcel Post" and below it "Australia Post Express Post". Select as appropriate. Then move down to "Additional Options" to select Signature On Delivery and Additional Liability Coverage if required.

Note that the price shown is what you have to pay, not the total cost. To clarify, if postage is shown as $40, that is how much you pay, as total postage would be $80 (with eBay paying half).

    • Normally doesnt include express, just the standard postage which is normally pretty fast anyway

  • How do i get the 50% off for australia post?
Sendle isnt offered where im located yet unfortunely plus ive had issues with them in the past.

    • Sell something on eBay. When it sells select purchase postage label. It will be 50% off.

  • Can I use this to send Chrissy presents about? As in, does it need to be from an eBay sale?

    • It has to be an eBay purchase.

      • Alas no Christmas spirit there!

    • +3

      Yes.

List the Christmas present on eBay for 1c and free postage.

Ask the person who the gift is intended for to purchase and pay the 1c.

Post to them at 50% off.

      Simples.

I've just been f***ked about by Sendle again this week. Don't use if you care at all for the buyer.
2 weeks so far from Qld metro to NSW metro.
Wouldn't have chosen this seller but thought they used Australia Post.

    • +1

Was it through Courier Please or Aramex? I found CP to be reliable but Aramex is unreliable.

The good thing is, the label is NOT charged until you post it. So, if the label is Aramex, I will pay more for Auspost.

      • I don't know which - it's through ebay. Aramex is appaling.
Will find out when it eventually (hopefully) arrives.

        • +1

Aramex will arrive in my experience….just "sometimes" taking 2 -3x longer than Auspost or Courier Please.

When you calculate shipping time, make sure it is from drop off date to deliver date. A lot of sellers will create the shipping label right away but not dropping off the item at the depot until a few days later.

          • @bobokingdom: Also add in the time it takes Sendle to actually pick up the item, if they are using a hubbed service. My experience is that can be a few days in my location in Metro Sydney.

  • +3

I'm just here to read the Sendle horror stories

  • +1

How do they deal with Sendle non pickups? About 40% of my usage they take 5+ days to pick up at all. Even then, they come with a further delay for a few days
Your parcel …….. has been slightly delayed, so we’ve adjusted the delivery estimate to …….

So your parcel within the same city that's expected within 3 days, now takes 2wks to deliver.

Just enough time for a chargeback from ebay?

    • As long as it is post and you buy the label from eBay, eBay will advise the buyer to wait. Ultimately, if they refund the user and the delivery was arranged by eBay, they will have to cover your losses.

  • well this is good until your buyer uses parcel locker :(
just last week i had to pay $14 instead of $5 for the shipping (i sell with free shipping yeah my mistake)

    • What’s wrong with Parcel locker? My buyer had a parcel locker and I was still able to get 50% off Auspost Parcel Post label.

  • Do these labels have to be used for eBay sales? Silly question i know :(

    • Yes, they are generated after you sell the items. You can't just pay for a postage label.

  • Does the discount work if you are shipping overseas? Or is it only in AU?

    • Only Aus these days, in the early days was international too.

  • Ultimately I think low numbers of FVF freebies and/or massive eBay fees %, pushes up prices on eBay which is bad for their business generally

  • Anyone know if it contributes to your AusPost business sales numbers? I'm thinking not…

  • Is there anywhere I can see how many I have left? Weirdly enough it seems I can get 4x 50% off

  • Any Aus Post labels for this month?

  • Wheres the Aus post labels for this month?!

  • They have shown up for me for January now.

    • Nothing for me :(

      • I'm pretty sure it isn't targeted. If you're using Australia Post I have found that only 'custom size' is 50% off.

        • Yeh it set as custom size and tried Sendle too, neither working

          • @nicholasv: Weird.

'3x 50% off postage labels for eBay Plus members until 31/01' is what I see.

            • @Hiphopopotamus: Only thing I can think of is that I recently renewed my ebay plus on this account, so possibly it's just for old ebay plus accounts?

              • @nicholasv: Seems unlikely, maybe try contacting CS?

                • +1

@Hiphopopotamus: They're as useless as anything. When did you sign up to ebay plus? Could just be an offer that they're honouring for anyone who had ebay plus at the time of the offer

                  • @nicholasv: Fair, their CS is generally useless.

This particular account's eBay Plus sub ends very soon, in February.

My latest sign up is November for a different account, but for that one I'm still seeing the 'your first label is free' promo.

                    • @Hiphopopotamus: Yeh very fair. This account was signed up in November too, so possibly your other account might face the same issue, but I hope not.

  • I am just on to them now because it is not showing up. They are acting like they have never ever heard of it, despite it being standard fpr all eBay plus members.
    @nicholasv also just renewed.

"May I know have you received any email regarding this deal?

CS representative just stopped responding after a while because they had not heard of the promo. Usual complete and total waste of time

    • Did you have any luck following up with CS on this?

My account also lost access to this offer since last month, couldn't get a rationale explanation from the rude and dismissive CS rep I spoke to (was told it was completely random as to whether system assigned you this benefit or not … wtf!!!)

For me this was probably the key reason for paying for eBay Plus so I'm now stuck with a membership I have little other use for, very P'd off.

Anyway would be good if we could somehow establish a clear explanation for the discrepancies re access.

      • +1

They just insisted it was to be 'withdrawn at any time'. I explained I was part of a large forum and everyone else still had it.
Basically got nowhere. No free listing. No 1/2 price postage

  • Is this working for anyone this month? Got a couple of things to post and it hasn’t ticked over like usual

  • I can confirm the 50% labels are back again for April (Sendle / Aus Post)

3x 50% off postage labels for eBay Plus members until 30/04
