  Starthere is not a discount - it is non guaranteed cash back. I have had good experiences with it, but it doesn't always come through so you certainly can't count on it.

    Last thing I bought from dell through start here was never paid for no known reason so do not count on that. Not sure where you're getting that price from as it says up to 5.25% and it is gst exclusive and that's if you get it at all.

      Which price? The $244, or the $227? (I get 7% StartHere discount on Dell because I've been in StartHere for ages). (I get what you mean now - fixed).

      I've found if you fart about on the site too much you can lose the discount, or try other discounts then remove them (like the RACT et al one then take it out). So call StartHere an irregularly reliable discount.

  I would pay a bit extra to get Dell 2412M (current price $279.30) for higher res (1920x1080 vs. 1920x1200) and larger screen http://configure.ap.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=au&l=en…

    Yes I reckon for general use you might be right. That extra 16:10 ratio height is good. The 16:9 ratio U2312HM better suited to gaming and video (though that's not a strength of this monitor).

    jeeeeez they really can't go a week without the 2412M being on special for $279.

    I recently asked them if they could do it for $250.. of course they wouldn't but they'd be happy to email me when it was on special again.. which turns out to be about 20 times a year.

  I bought a 2312HM back when they were pretty new for $190. Dell's never had them on sale that cheap since, the lowest I've seen is $230.

  It didn't let the coupon work with the already reduced U2412M.

  I may have received 3.5% from starthere.. will wait and see eh.
