  • For non-gaming, 2K or 4K for 27 inch?

4K is crisp but too small on 27 inch?

    • You can adjust to 125% or 150% on windows which ever fits you eyes. I had 27 2k and 4k before, would go 4k.

Same price at CentreCom, Scorptec etc.

  • Is the extra $130 worth it for a Dell S2722QC 27" 4K UHD 60Hz USB-C Monitor $350.12?

    • +1

Probably, the Dell includes shipping so probably only like $100 more which gets you USB-C with 65W charging, slightly higher contrast of 1300:1 (vs 1000:1 on the MSI) and higher max brightness of 400 nits (vs 300 nits on the MSI).

Edit: also Dell warranty is fantastic

      • I have this https://www.lg.com/au/monitors/full-hd-qhd/27bl650c-b/

Is it worth upgrading to that dell one you mention? I use the usb c port for MacBook charging/external monitor + 3 in 1 iPhone charger that requires high wattage so can’t go with the one OP suggested unfortunately.

It is working fine though to be fair and I did sorta say to myself if I was to get a new monitor to get a 32” or something to have a TV-like experience so to say for games like BOTW etc

        • Yeah, the 4K is definitely worth it. Plus, you can use the LG FHD as a second monitor

      • Cool…I'll go with the Dell. This will be my second one.

    • Yes

  • What do we think is currently the best value 27 inch 4K monitor for those that don’t need speakers?

Edit: Only used for work (excel, word, PDF and video editing for social media content creation)

What do we think is currently the best value 27 inch 4K monitor for those that don’t need speakers?

A 27" 4K monitor that does have speakers, but with them disabled. So that if you ever decide you do want to use the speakers in them, you can just enable them. If you buy one without speakers you can't change your mind about what you need/want.

I want one of these screens, and one of the MSI mini-PCs, as shown in the advertising pictures.

You know, the ones that don't require any cables to work. The ones that work without power.

No video cable between the mini-PC and the screen. Or to a keyboard or mouse. No power brick or cable to the screen from it. No power brick or cable to the mini-PC from it.

Or doesn't the customer actually get what is shown in the advertising pictures for the product?

    • Maybe in the year 2525?

      • Could do it right now, if you had the cash. Wireless power is already a thing and wireless data standards would cover the rest.

Why you'd spend so much money on that when you could run a cable is another question. But it'd be doable. Most of the money is going into car charging or military purposes for wireless power, due to cost.

Sigh..it’s a song by Zager and Evans (from 1969 so not knowing is forgivable for more and more peeps).

          In the year 2525
          If man is still alive….

          • @entropysbane: A fair while before my time!

I just listened to it, I reckon humanity could knock off most of the things on their list in the next century.

  • Looks like this one has an external power adaptor, are these better or worse than ones that have the power supply in the monitor?
