Should be fine, 7Bank don't charge fees for any international Mastercard. They charge 110 or 220 yen for visa.
HSBC rates are not very good compared to Revolt or Wise, they don't charge fees but it is built into the exchange rate.

They are not giving you the right info. Paying the balance early should allow you to keep spending. Overpaying should be fine too for big…
prisonerzero replied to Jaspa7 on Anyone Else Scurrying to Pay off Their HECS Debts by The End of This Month to avoid 7.1% indexation?
It won't stop automatically, your employer has no way to know whether or not you have a HELP debt.
HSBC accepts foreigns cheques ($10 fee I think).
As Jase said, you can send payments using BPAY from Beem with a credit card. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/639861

I've been using Beem for this. No fees at the moment, works with most MC/Visa. Full points.
