Was looking for a cheap guitar strap this morning and I stumbled upon this deal. Haven’t used this strap before but it’s made by Ernie Ball so should be pretty decent.

  • Didn't know I needed a patterned guitar strap. Thanks OP.

Neither did I. I don't even own a guitar (yet)

  • Thanks OP bought one as a gift

Cheers got one for my kid for when he starts learning 😁

    Dang. Missed out.

    Not deliverable to this address

    FFS.

Might be a rural problem. I used MIL's city address and it worked

    • Experiencing this more and more on Amazon lately. I don't live rural/remote either. When (regional coastal) I see this it's usually indicative of capital city metro only, sometime just SY or MB. SUX 100%

Two hours too late. Ozbargained. I really don't need another strap, and hardly ever use fabric ones these days. But it's pretty for just the price of a cheeseburger. = ]

      • I'm regional so get it on occasion. Always on items I actually want. BTW I still get out the Aldicaster regularly for shits and giggles.

Still hanging on one of my walls. It would get played more frequently except I have too many guitars and so better to choose from resulting in it being triaged 'some other time' at 'pick one' time. Not worth selling given the pleasure it affords though. Can't get them any more of course. A collectable. = ]

Still makes for an inexpensive but playable instrument. Affordable alternative to the Squier Affinity Tele for a self-starter struggling to afford better. A new set of strings plus setup and it'll do.

As good as Squier's Affinity Tele IMO, its own idiosyncrasies notwithstanding (3 barrel vs 6 saddle bridge). On about a par with SX's excellent bang for the buck VTG Series STL50+ Tele. Wouldn't mind betting they came from the same factory except it has an Alder body.

FWIW ever curious and unable to resist a 'beer money' uber-bargain, I opportunity bought a Squier Bullet Tele on sale just after last Xmas ('22). 2022s production for our market were of Chinese "crafted" origin & top load, but with higher output pickups than the previous years Indonesian ones. Wasn't really expecting much. Boy was I surprised. The build quality is astonishing for the $$$. Squier had really caught up in their entry level game with the Squier Bullet Tele in my experience of this one, and then decided to self sabotage (?) that in 2023 by renaming them Sonics relaunching them in a range of more vibrant 'youthful' colours with a choice of Maple or Laurel fingerboard & an LE humbucker only config.

Anyway the Chinese Bullet (Black with Laurel) was really quite an amazing guitar for the money and one which would carry one through beginner to intermediate on a tight budget. Go figure Fender's marketing?!! Really reminded me of the production quality of the Yamaha Pacifica 112J, albeit the different PUP config. Both with ceramics. Could easily fit a set of Korean alnicos if wanted for around AUD$50. Hopefully Fender can keep up their game with the superseding Sonic series.

I have a bunch of Ernie Ball strap. They are really well made and for this price its a no brainer.

  • Cheers OP, nabbed one. Ernie Ball do decent strings, so fingers crossed their other gear is OK.

  • OOS?

    • I think so

    • One left according to the amazon app *edit at full price

  • Thanks OP..

  • Anyone recommend a good cheap starter acoustic guitar for adults that has zero playing experience?

    • +1

A secondhand Yamaha from marketplace that's been hardly played.

Someone else takes the depreciation hit and you get a near new, great quality guitar for half price. Yamaha don't make any bad guitars.

Just make sure it's 6 string, dreadnought body and left/right playing as required. Should get one for $150-200 and a case is a bonus.

      • +3

I'd go for nylon strings. Easier on fingers

        • +2

Played it til my fingers bled. Was the winter of 2009.

      • Thanks @Muzeeb will checkout my local marketplace for a deal. Or go with the one harryhobbes recommended

    • a maton if it's secondhand for $300

    • +2

I’d recommend a Yamaha FS800 or FG800. Not the cheapest guitars but Yamaha makes good acoustic instruments and will give you the best bang for your buck

      • +1

My Yamaha FG700s has served me well for over 15 years, think it was about $350 new back then.

    • +1

Google "Artist Guitar". They are probably the most value for money beginner guitars which does not compromise on quality. The next level up will be the lower end Yamaha or Fender which is about $400.

      https://www.scarlettmusic.com.au/tanglewood-twusfce-union-so…

tanglewood or takamine solid top back & sides. well made, go for sub $500. don't need a pickup or built in tuner, cutaway is the go.

this way when you give up you can get your money back basically.

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/772227 I bought this a year ago and find it a fantastic learner guitar. I've since had strings and the action worked on, but otherwise still going strong. Best part is I don't really mind throwing it in the back of the car to take camping or let kids play it. If I'd spent more I wouldn't be so nonchalant about it.

      • Thanks @harryhobbes

@elichu296 hi rep and chance to price match the previous deal in the link above, keen on the nylon stringed one too if possible that you mentioned in the comments

  • These are the worst nunchucks I have ever purchased.
