  Not ideal for Christmas but a good price for the lightning cable version of the AirPod Pro 2nd Gen.

  Am I right in thinking that the pods themselves are identical to the ones in the USB C MagSafe case, and it's only the charging cable that is different between the models?

  I believe so! There’s a good article that discusses the main differences, it says the case is a bit hardier & can sustain dust & moisture more. I hope this helps.
