7% off in-Stock Tesla 2023 Model 3 (with Less than 50km on Odometer) from $55,360 + On-Road Cost @ Tesla

2970

Tesla, just dropped the price of an inventory Model 3 even lower, might be a good bargain to get before the:
stamp duty rebate https://www.revenue.nsw.gov.au/grants-schemes/electric-vehic…
and 3k ev grant ends: https://www.revenue.nsw.gov.au/grants-schemes/electric-vehic…
at the end of this year.
With the refresh model 3 2024 loosing the gear stalk and blinker stalk, this could become a high yield investment ;D

tempting now i am thinking about it. But better to put 3 k in the mortgage ohhhhhh

      • This is true. Tesla depreciation is at 50% at 5 years. It will be likely be higher in the future as new battery tech evolves etc.

    • is long range the performance model or is that different?

      • Different although the LR stock does 0-60 in 4.4s vs 6.1 for 2wd version.

    • Forgot an important point. LR insurance is around $1000 cheaper per year than the Model 3 Performance. With the boost they do very similar quarter miles. I tried the boost and didn't care much for it. 0-100 in 4.4 secs is plenty for me, thank you very much.

Thoughts on the 2024 Highland vs 2023 ? The list price isnt that much different but the LR model is bumped past the base $68k price therefore no rebates from Qld govt effectively making it $10k more. The improved suspension on the new model is quite appealing as I do a fair bit of travel on dodgy roads.

    • Am curious about the exact same question for QLD specifically. The revamped 2024 LR model is appealing but you would lose the entire EV rebate/incentive…

    • Here's a good comparison between the two

2024 model haven't arrived yet so whether the extra $10k is worth it based on current international reviews is subjective.

  • Do these have full matrix headlights? If so how many zones??

I ordered a model Y when i saw this post. I'm picking it up Saturday.

It will be used as a commuter for my family instead of our 120 petrol prado which uses 15l/100km. That thing currently costs us about $4k a year in fuel and only going to go up as my family gets older and we start having to drive the kids to more things. The maintenance on the prado is also insane…If i had to pay $20k every 5 years for a whole new battery pack, the Tesla would still probably come out cheaper.

Thanks to govt rebates we get this for a bit over 60k.

If the tesla lasts 10 years, its literally saved us $40k in fuel costs and been a much nicer vehicle to drive during that duration of time (if you've never driven one, go take one for a test drive, and then tell me what commuter car offers a better experience).

Sick of hearing people whinge about this and that. It's not here to cure world hunger, it's just a good car that drives well and is incredibly cheap to run.

Keep a spread sheet with maintenance. The Tesla will be the same in 10 years. Besides it will be totally unusable on road trips. Your prado will keep on going beyond 15 years I suspect.

I bet you insurance (20% more expensive) and tyres (twice as much replacement) etc etc will make up for it. Besides if you doing heavy running, the Tesla will be finished at 200k but the Prado will just be a baby at this stage.

You can't really compare the two though. Prado is extremely long range, heavy towing, true 4WD off roader, excellent suspension vs Model Y which is none of that.

You forgot about expensive ICE car maintenance cost specially heavy utility vehicle.(Brake pad/oil, engine oil, extra cost on Diesel engine etc ). For tyre you can go for normal one as well.

Didn't forget. Just keep a log and compare for your selves.

Over 10 years the cost will be similar. The cost will start to rack up after 4 years (warranty finished) and 7 years (battery warranty finished). Tesla will give you refurb batteries even if your battery fails during warranty. :)

There is no need for anyone to guess these things.
