Got something similar a few months ago. Was super excited to clean a few things. Buying it was the easy part. Finding the time to take it out of the box and using it is another story.

Have one does a good job has been going for at least 8 years now.
But a $20 upholstery attachment from amazon hooked up to a wet and dry vac and a 5lt pressure sprayer from Bunnings does a significantly better job. I haven't used my Bissell the last 5 times I've needed to spot clean or a full carpet/seat clean.

    • When you say pressure sprayer, do you mean one of these?
      https://www.bunnings.com.au/aqua-systems-5l-garden-pressure-…

And an upholstery head like this one? (I’m sure I can find a cheaper one)
      https://amzn.asia/d/6x038wI

Then just attach to my existing wet/dry vacuum? What mixture do you put in the sprayer?

      • Couldn’t you just spray the solution onto the spot, rather than use a pressure sprayer and risk getting it everywhere?

      • Am also keen to know the answers to these questions, TIA

        • Me too! About to go out to Bunnings in the morning just for the pressure sprayer recommendation. I have heard there's a spray/hose attachment that pairs with your typical dry/wet vac that lets you spray too before sucking with the same hose. I didn't really understand the post though..

I own both. Vax is much better in my opinion.

      • Do these drench under the surface of what you’re cleaning? Like for a couch would it be soaked/damp underneath the surface?

        • +2

          Soaked, no.
          Damp, yes.

          Its water sprayed onto fabric.
          Fabric is absorbant.

    • Also second for the Vax. Has pretty good reviews too!

I own the Bissell but it doesn't come with a hard-floor/tiles tool and doesn't have a self-clean function which the Bissell actually needs because the hose does get gunky and doesn't clear itself after using. I haven't tried it but I suppose I could just suck up a small bucket of water to force alot of liquid in the hose to try and "self-clean" the hose per-se.

    • Would it be a pain to use this to clean car seats? (referring to the VAX cleaner)

  • Note that these are definitely just for spot cleans - they're tiny. Borrowed one when we first moved in and doing the carpet in one bedroom took forever and not very well.

    • Hahaha, RIP.

The tank size on this will barely get a small room damp enough to actually be cleaning anything.. 😅

    • It's the 'automotive' version, so essentially it's the same but different. This one has a hose that's roughly double the length of the one you have linked.

  • Purchased through the Good Guys Commercial this week for $190

  • You can rent them out, going for $25 a day on marketplace
