Bought a mono one (Brother HL-1110) around the same time for $45.
$180's buying power is a lot higher than $219 today. e.g. How many eggs can it buy.
USB Cable NOT included.
That's the deal breaker for me. You're no brother of mine.
I think Officeworks sells them for $4 :)
That's been the case for many years now
As it should be. It's a little depressing to think about how many redundant cables are already sitting in landfill
Agree - I just sent over 300 cables ranging in length from 50cm to 5m to the recycling centre. Salvaged from a data centre relocation - all good quality. I tried to give them away for free on market place and ebay. No takers. Same with some Netgear switches. At least I managed to prevent some of the server racks, portable air cons and UPS ending up at the tip.
Price has increased to $256.95
Think this is a bit better value if you want to have auto duplex - $229 and free shipping. Just bought one after my printer died.
Has wifi making so no cable required

Paid full price for the 2730 during WFH craziness - 100% happy. No regrets. And after market toners are reliable and cheap as chips. Never have to worry about ink drying out either.
Color duplex $224 (non MFC), but still going strong nearly 13 years later….with $10 toner cartridges found on clearance… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/35747
For no hassle brother printing, we use these in all our warehouses.
Around 400-500 print pages a day, never had an issue. Currently running 6 machines. Toner and Drums are cheap on eBay.

How can people know of EcoTanks and still buy these scammy lil printers, no idea.
A laser printer doesn't have to worry about ink drying out if you don't print for a while, or not having a particular colour, or ink bleed or a while lot of other problems.
yeah, I get that much
but still, cartridges and their prices never cease to bully wallets, big or small.
I plugged mine in, ran it whenever I wanted and ran it for a year without having to do anything like fill up a tank. Once a year I replace the toner. That's it.
So expensive these days. I bought my brother colour laser for $180 delivered back in 2016
