Keep in mind, the B450 doesn't support PCIe Gen 4. The B550 does though.

The website stated that due to the 3070 RTX card, the other PCie slot cannot be use, is this correct? As I want to installed Pcie TP link WIFI card.
Can anyone confirm the only option is WIFI via USB connector?

    • That is correct, the card will cover the PCIe port. USB WiFi is the networking solution that we offer for the PC's.

    • +2

I used a short pcei x1 riser cable which allowed me to install a Pcie WIFI + Bluetooth card.

I thought this was a dig at someone else. Made me lol, then realised it was real :S

Hi Luke, is it possible to buy this computer without the video card and hard drive?

    • +1

Had same thoughts but just without video card (I have a 3070 in an eGPU enclosure and want to retire the laptop it connects to).

    • Unsure whether they would make ANY money with that combo. If I were the said business, I wouldn't bother making you this computer without a video card and harddrive. Or I would do it, but at a slightly higher cost to cover labour etc. IN business everyone must win, otherwise it's sad time for one party eventually.

      • Bronze, what can go wrong? :)

To be clear I'm not recommending that part list if building yourself - just picked the most comparable parts using parametric filters to match the specs as listed in the Techfast build. PCPartPicker should automatically choose the cheapest component available

Hope I don't have to tape the GPU to the mobo.

    • +2

Buy a box of golden gaytimes (on sale atm)
Make a popsicle stick stand with some bluetak.

    • +3

Forget taping. Just hold it still while gaming with other hand.

      • +2

        Sorry, other hand is busy

      Under rated comment!

That’s a damn good machine. Probably peak value before you hit diminishing returns.

    • +1

For an extra $400 wouldn't the R7 5700X, RTX 4070 be better value?

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/798361

      • 40% increase in price…
Would that system give a 40% boost in performance? My initial thoughts is probably not, but I haven't actually checked!

        edit:
the 4070 is about 30% faster from a quick google

        • 30% faster for 40% more, but it is more future proof.
You get the 5700X over the 5600.

      • What about this one, worth to save $300 and go for a 6650XT?

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/800109

        • +1

I think the 6650 XT is 30% slower?
Note the 550W PSU is not as future proof.

  • +1

If I upgrade to 32gb of ram, would this be ok for photoshop/Lightroom/AE?
I’ve got a good m1 Mac but kind of want a windows machine too

    • Photoshop and lightroom yes. NoT sure about AE though. Are you 4k HDR ing? etc?

  • @luketechfast typical dispatch time on these types of deals?

    • +3

We advertise between 5-10 business days for these deals.

  • Hmmm not a mini pc. close though.

    • +1

3070 alone would be a size of a mini pc.

    • You'd probably gonna need a low-profile RTX card for a mini PC build. These full-sized RTX cards are hugeeeee.
