  • this is the gpu

    https://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-Quadro-M1000M.151582.0.…

at best it seems like an esport gpu?

on paper it sounds nice w/ 4gb gddr5 and 128 bit bus but i suspect its like a gtx960 or something that old ie. close to 10yrs

    • +1

Remember that for the price your lucky to get any gpu, esp with the high amount of ram this has

      • +1

also zbook is HPs highest spec line and you are still getting a quad core w/ 32gb so if you need to run big sheets or cad, video etc. for cheap, what's your choice for this kind of money

    • +1

Quadro cards are designed for CAD and similar enterprise workloads.

You don't buy a Zbook for gaming.

      • Adding that you don’t buy a laptop for $400 for gaming :)

Plenty of better deals on ebay with this code.

YES if you are happy with screens will have blemishes to the screen such as scratches and/or white spots.

Grade B: The product which are classified as B have signs of usage as marks or scratches. It may have minimal wear on palm rest, keyboard, touchpad

Are you guaranteeing blemish free screens or just omitting from your description of Bodgey grade?

        • -1

Please check grade C and you will have clarification.

          • @Skymstr:

Bodgey : The product which are classified as B have minimal marks or scratches. They are close to new.

            You've listed Bodgey grade here.
Crap and Dumpster grade are not relevant.

Clarification on close to new and guaranteed 100% perfect screen however would perhaps be. Any images of actual product?

I don't recommend a 6th Gen laptop, I've thrown away better things than that… but the 32GB and 512 might suit some, like grandma lol… i wouldn't recommend anyone pay more than $200 for it… I mean it is like 7 years old (circa late 2016 - 2017) lol!
U would be better saving up a few more $$$ and getting something like Lenovo 15.6" Slim 3i IdeaPad Core i5/8GB/256GB Win 11 for $697 at Officeworks (its only $266 more) It would last a lot longer… in my opinion…

    • +1

I agree, you'll be watching your CPU hit 100% while you ram is like 16gb used.

    • 6th gen might sounds old but i5-1155G7 is not leaps and bounds away from 6700HQ.

They're not far away from each other even though being 5 generations apart.

      https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-15-…

      • Passmark wise with the 6700HQ at 6k, its still good enough. I think what's important though is that being 6th gen there is a lot of workarounds it is doing to to get around exploits that have happened since, think heartbleed

        • Just goes to show how long intel were sitting on their hands until Ryzen gave them some competition

12th gen mobile and 13th gen are absolute monsters as good as desktops bettered by their amd phoenix competitors in terms of power consumption and make

11th is rubbish in comparison and obsolete

the i5 is over 50% better than the 6700hq in passmark

    • It depends on use case. And age has little relevance compared to the specs of each part. 2016 and 2017 is not old for many types of PC parts at all. And you need to look at what a CPU can do. A 2022-2023 CPU with fark all cores and no hyperthreading will be next to useless compared to a 2012 CPU with actual cores to use, when it comes to Docker/VM. Obviously, this is a laptop, but you still need to think about use case.

As for this deal? Yeah, it's a no go at that price. Better off grabbing an ex-office desktop.

    • still an upgrade if youre using a shit computer with sandy bridge or something like me

      • Grab an 8th gen with 16gb ram for same price, it'll serve you better

  • +1

Not sure where the bargain is here.
Very old spec, B grade condition, 70 % battery and $400. Hard pass.

  • +2

OP put all the laptops on ebay now so we get 22pct off then you may sell some. People here 99.90% will prefer buy via ebay

  • an extra 16gb is not worth $200

  • Would prefer this deal https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/204283294855 over this HP

    Microsoft Surface Book 2 13.5" Intel i7 8650U 1.90GHz 16GB RAM 512GB SSD Win 11 $471.20 after coupon RFRB20.

Although the ram is "only" 16 GB instead of 32GB, I would say it's good enough for day to day use and causal gaming.

For $40 more you get an 8th gen i7 Max Turbo at 4.20 GHz instead of the 6th gen at 3.5 GHz, a better screen and design, much longer battery life, and if came with the original keyboard should have a GTX 1050 as well (please check with the seller to comfirm).
