I've used the free trial of this before and found it was pretty good at creating seperate instrumental stems for remixing, and for creating accapella versions.

Good tool. There is also Moises which gives you a certain amount of songs to convert for free. Also, can change pitch. Good for converting to samples as well.

Tip for those with the use case of creating an instrumental backing track (more limited than this software), Apple Music released a karaoke feature which works surprisingly well.

I was genuinely shocked at how well this separated a guitar and vocal. It missed some occasional transients but nothing that caused problems in a mix.

  • I use Cyberlink's AI online tool to remove vocals https://myedit.online/en/audio-editor/vocal-remover

There's a daily limit of 1 that you can save as an MP3 (and the quality is horrible - too many pops and clicks), but if you use Chrome Audio Capture (a free extension), hit record, play the audio file in the Cyberlink tab, then use the CTRL+SHIFT+X to stop recording. Save. Rinse and repeat for as many MP3's that you want to do.

It does a surprisingly good job at stripping the vocals without mangling the music with the default settings, but you can tweak the vocal volume to -15dB or whatever you like, if you still want to faintly hear the original vocals.

  • For those who want a free app: I use UVR (Ultimate Vocal Remover) you can find it on github.

It does a great job at separating vocals and instruments.

No song limits, no cost, it just works.
