That 8GB RAM hurts for longevity. Soldered or slot?

    • ^^this

    • Seems like a single Sim slot, no soldered ram.

I think soldered for 2in1 model. For the non 2in1 yes, slot

      • Any link? I'd like the option to go to 16gb in future

    • -3

Singe slot, up to 16GB. Full specs

      • wrong model. there are 2 different 7390s.

      • That is probably the non 2in1

      Hi,

The ram is soldered in on motherboard, not upgradable.

  • Is there much difference with 8th gen mobile cpu vs current gen 13th gen CPU?

8th gen CPUs were game changers going from 2 cores to 4 cores

    • I heard the 13 is way better than 12

    • Hi Homr, depend what you need for the laptop.

For normal daylily use, 8th gen CPU with a SSD is enough, and it can save you a lot of money on spending on13th gen.

Cheaper from Australian Computer Trader's eBay Store - $279 shipped, no coupon needed.

that's a "b grade" unit for that price..

I've had a few so called "a grade" units and was pretty unhappy with the condition..

I hate to see what the "b grade" machines are like. here is the description

"Products are tested, and confirmed to be 100% fully functional. These devices may show cosmetic signs of previous use such as marks on the screen, dints, slightly worn keys or touchpad and heavy scratches. The device may have BIOS Lock or have under 80% original battery. This does not affect the usability and performance of the device. Includes 12-month warranty."

      • Is there a way to unlock the bios if its locked??

        • +1

          Depends on the machine

      • Thank Kelvin,

The laptop we offer here are all in excellent condition.

    • @MaxDirect come on bro beat that price

    • Pay only AU $259.00 with EbayPlus,, but this says B grade.. but 12 months warranty

    • $2.37 more for guaranteed LTE (which is an option) and "excellent condition machine" and not to have to deal Australian Computer Traders again… definitely a win

      • Actually 281 vs 259 but i get your point about lte

    • OP one has the better CPU 8350 vs 8250

  • Anything with an 8th Gen laptop CPU in it is going to thermal throttle, even if you repaste the CPU (which you should do anyways)

You can mitigate the high temps (but not the throttling, it has a fixed 20W TDP limit from memory) with this to undervolt:

and this to (better) control the fan:

  • Thinking of upgrading my MacBook Pro 2018 model, how would these compare? And yes I run bootcamp.

    Also, these batteries any good?
