What is the response time for this monitor? 5ms or 1ms?

    • 5ms on the lg website

My work supplies the same monitor but, please read all the low star comments carefully as some of those monitors have serious QC problems. https://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B0B6Q71X58/ref=acr_dp…

Myself and also another colleague had our original monitor failed within 2 months.

Also, LG's warranty in Australia seems very dodgy and at least for Sydney I believe you will need to go to an appliance repair shop on the parramatta road yourself and from memory that shop has below average rating on Google….

I've never used cruved. How long does it take to get used to it?

Also would 2 of these next to each other be any good? Is the join dead centre an issue?

Curved - for me it took about 1 second to get used to. That is, it just seems normal straight away.

2 of - can't answer that really one as I only have one at home. Depends on use case I guess, at work I have 2 x monitors and it's not really a problem, but I just have different stuff on different screens and look from one to the other. Whereas 2 screens for gaming wouldn't be good in my opinion.

Nobody places 2 ultrawides next to each other with gap in middle. If you do it, you'll be the one guy who does.

How long does it take to get used to it?

It takes exactly 12 days. You'll hear a popping sound in your brain, and the curved lines will snap into straight lines. In rare cases the popping sound is more of a bang, and the convex becomes concave. It's the danger we all face as ultrawide owners.

Lovely OzBargainers, how would this monitor compare to the Samsung LC34J791WTEXXY in your opinion? 🙏

I browsed the web for a couple hours yesterday and was going to get the Samsung one, but now I see this…

I would need the type C / thunderbolt upstream, and I do games but am not a heavy gamer, and mostly use it for work.

I don’t have the Samsung one but I found the LG ok, I spent 800 on it but I don’t regret it (and manage to recoup the difference). Some minor things I do find annoying, when leaving my macbook sleeping the monitor doesn’t seem to power off so I have to manually turn it off (haven’t checked if this has a power mode settings), and changing the sound level of the monitor you have to reach out at the bottom of the monitor to change it since this doesn’t have a remote.

Also this doesn’t have a hub, so I have to use a dongle to use an ethernet port on my laptop. And this model doesn’t seem to have daisy chaining feature.

Spec wise, they don’t have much difference and the LG is much more cheaper. If you are into daisy chaining though, Samsung have it.
