This is an old monitor now…still so expensive

The Alienware OLED refurb for $1160 seems like a way bigger deal

    • +6

Bought it for $1600 delivered 2.5 years ago. It's an amazing monitor and worth the $839 price tag IMO.

      • Maybe back then, definitely not now with the deal above

        • You're delusional if you think that. This deal is half of the launch price from 3 years ago. Even the Predator XB271HU is worth over half of original RRP almost 8 years after release.

          • @NeggerOfDeals: The X34P and XV340CKP which are nearly identical and have been available for as low as $850 4 years ago.

Launch price is irrelevant and if anyone paid $1600 for this, they got ripped off big time

            • @cille745:

Considering your post history, it sounds like you're projecting here more than having a dig at me. Otherwise lets laugh at those losers for paying launch price at launch. What a bunch of losers.

              Like I said, you're delusional.

              • @NeggerOfDeals: Don’t know what you are talking about, not taking a dig at anyone, just stating that the launch price is irrelevant because when it came out similar options were already half the price

          • @NeggerOfDeals: I have the XB271HU, and have had it since 2018. It's a great monitor. But that generation of GSynx locks you into Nvidia cards. So I'm having to shop for a new monitor right now. Avoid older GSync - any technology that tries locking you into one brand of GPU over another is not good. Looks like this monitor doesn't have this issue though, says AMD Freesync compatible on the sales page.

How does this compare to the dell 4k 160hz ips gaming monitor deal that was like around $400

    • +1

the ultra wide 34inch hits different tbh

    • +3

One is ultra wide curved, one is flat 16:9. That's about it.

      I got 2 of the 32" 4K Dell's for 1k very happy with them.

    • +1

Have you considered the Dell S3422DWG?
      https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-34-curved-gaming-monito…

Just grabbed it and it's great. Has really good reviews and most people have no complaints about smearing.

      • Dell is a VA Panel, LG one is IPS, much better

        • +1

G3223Q was the one i was talking about. 144 4k IPS. But no longer sold it sems

    • It's up your personal preference. The $400 monitor is good, been using it for a week now but coming from an ultra wide 34inch I do miss the extra width a lot.

Bought this late last year. Great monitor. Have been really enjoying it.

  • +1

Been looking into this monitor. Didn’t want oled due to burn in and VA panels have smearing. It will be used for productivity during the day and warzone/FPS during the night. Any other alternatives on the market right now at this price point?

    • +2

Same problem here mate, I use it mostly for office + casual gaming, I'd def go OLED if gaming only
Looked into few others like this Asus https://rog.asus.com/au/monitors/above-34-inches/rog-strix-x…
I think MSI has something good too, but just trust LG more as a producer of screens, TVs, monitors etc.

At this price no brainer imo, bought it and very happy

    • I got one of these in Dec 2020 and love it. Used it for full time WFH during covid lockdown and game on it regularly. Basically 1/2 the price I paid. I'd grab it.

Honestly a perfect monitor for gaming/work/editing.

  • not wide enough imo

  • I am looking for 2X34 inch ultrawide monitors to pair with my existing 32 inch 4k IPS Philips monitor mainly for productivity. Would I be able to run this setup using my Asus Rog Strix laptop having a 3060 gpu?

  • Great monitor. Been rocking for 1.5 year

  • What version of GSync is it? Is it the older one that tries locking you into Nvidia cards? Edit: nvm, has freesync too. Hmm this looks tempting. My Acer Predator monitor has done me well but isn't compatible with my new AMD GPU.

  • can anyone confirm if this is the LG 34GN850-B model? The description indicates it is but the product title says ‎34GN850

  • is it usb-c etc for connectivity/power? work equally well with a winpc and macbook pros?
