  Not sure how dodgy it is, however I mounted a 240v winch onto the roof of the shed which came with a wireless remote control. Have pulled a few engine out with it and honestly will never go back to an engine hoist.

    Won't a lot of engines weigh more than 250kg? Or at least be quite borderline?

    With these cheap Chinese ones, I'd be a bit suspect of even their rated limit. Wouldn't want to drop an engine!

      Multiply the power by adding extra pulleys. This could easily lift 500kg 3m if the cable and attachments is rated strong enough.

    The total tools one doesn't come with a motorised girder trolley.
