$5 for this good, and just something to have when out and about is decent. Good little gift for someone as well, starting out.

Yeah except for when you need a tool and it breaks and you waste your money, get a proper tool once look after it and get the job done. Stop contributing to waste.

    • +8

Yeah, I have a previous version of this kit that is in a black box and it is pretty crap. The ratchet mechanism stripped a couple of teeth while using a T10 bit. I hope this version is better.

      • +2

I also have a similar set to this and the ratchet in the one I have has an exposed mechanism, and sometimes it doesn't work and you have to fiddle with it, and it also suffers from not holding the bits well enough.

On top of that, it's too small to be that useful IMO, it would be better to have a straight handle for the screw bits, for this reason 4 out of 5 times you need it you will be digging around for your bigger set anyway

        • it also suffers from not holding the bits well enough.

I had forgotten about that, the magnet wasn’t glued in on mine and came out with a bit. It was very fiddly trying to glue it and keep the magnet from flipping to the side when fixing it.

  • Ignore the terminally online; this a neat, cheap little set for someone, thanks OP.

    Nice op

Awesome. Thanks picked one up…perfect for the car…

  • +12

Limited usefulness for the car guys. But you will find out when you break down.
Get a half inch socket set and 1/4 inch socket set, some screwdrivers and pliers.

I know it’s only $5, but without an extension bar or a proper range of socket sizes, this kit is very useful for nothing much.

    • -1

It’s not something I would want to use when my car needed something done urgently.
Rare odd jobbing about the house, sure.
But on my car? No frigging way!

    • +4

Then return to bunning for replacement or refund

Free delivery with Onepass too . Thanks OP.

    Fathers day sorted

    • +3

      I hope you meant father-in-law :)

    • +1

      Your father is cheap

      • +1

No. The son of the father is cheap

        • +1

The son inherited the Cheap Arse genes from the father.

  • good for emergency uses, bit flimsy for regular use, and the bits need to be tilted up to be accessible, i guess for this price hard to complain.

    • -1

So you want crap stuff to use in an emergency?? Really?? I would think in an emergency you want stuff that is going to work at all times.

      • they work, just not too accessible, maybe backup would be better way of putting it.

I have quite a bit of craftright gear for once-a-year type jobs. I've had them for years and none of them have gone to waste. Saved a hell of a lot of money too.

I really don't know how they can make a profit selling this for five bucks.

Of course buy quality tools for big jobs or tools used frequently if you can.

    • +4

Everything I've bought from this brand hasn't even been fit for purpose. That's how crap it is. I find Trojan is where it's at. Cheap AND works.

      • +2

I have some Trojan tools too. Yes they are a step up

        • I have some Trojan viruses too

  • +1

Forgot I had OnePass so this is an easy purchase, thanks OP

just handy to have in the glovebox

What exactly are you expecting to break that you would need this kit in a roadside emergency?

    • My last car was kind enough to have a stiffening bar over the battery and its cover.

      • A decent ring spanner then?
Wouldn’t even notice it in the glove box.

would need this kit in a roadside emergency?

Imagine driving on a highway, you see a car parked on the side . You stop, walk towards the stranded car and you are stunned; a female of extreme beauty weeping in tears. She had accidently dislodged the power button of her aging 1995 corolla stereo. You compassionately ask her why she is upset, and she replies that she just missed her favourite song on the radio. You reassure her that everything is going to be ok "i got you" with a warm shoulder squeeze "ill be back". She turns her head with a smile and tears of joy . You return with a Craftright 23-Piece Mini Ratchet Tool Set but in her eyes she sees Dominic Toretto, with big buff arms walking towards her with his large toolbox . She runs towards and gives you a big hug. You reply "We're Family. We Got A Problem, We Deal With It Together."

      • +12

Done. Click and collect. I'm picking it up in 30 minutes. I'll look out for the broken down Corolla on the way home.

      • +1

Which forum did you post the next chapter to?

        • +1

This is actually episode 2. Episode 1 was on princess highway, but cant remember which deal i posted it on

      • +2

I've been driving around randomly for the last 3 hours without luck. Were you pulling my leg?

  • Might not be much stock around, my click and collect was just cancelled (no stock) and unable to source stock from nearby stores either.

    • +3

I just picked one up, my local has 10 in stock. I put it back down and they still have 10 in stock. :)

  • +2

Not on clearance, but this ratchet has all the sizes 1/2in 3/8in and 1/4in drive.

Can't attest to it's reliability, but it helped me remove a worn sump plug (with a 6-point socket).

  • Good one mate, thanks, ordered a couple.

  • Wow the "doesn't matter if it's not going to work because it's so crap, it's cheap" brigade are out in force today…

    • Quite a loaded statement. For $5 I'd rather have it & not need it, than need it & not have it, even if using it once means you strip the bit or the teeth etc.

    • +1

I don't need this coz I have half decent emergency kits already in my rides.

If I was trying to scrape together enough coin for a deposit for my 1st mortgage I would definitely consider it. Better than nothing

  • +1

Picked one up, used it and it didn't break. Perfect thanks.

  • Ordered one and got refunded an hour later. Must have selected pickup and not delivery.

    • +1

I clicked collect instead of delivery and now I’ve gotta go to another store to pickup as it wasn’t in stock at my local /face palm

      • My local still says it's in stock, not even low stock. Just went with delivery this time. Not sure whose in stock tracking is worse, Bunnings or Big W. Constantly getting in stock items cancelled.

        • Woke up to this being cancelled as well. Guess it's just not meant to be.

Here, this is for those who want to purchase things and put them in the car just in case. Crazy lol but it might actually work.

  • +1

Woke up to email that "ready to collect". Thanks op, lucky door prize for our club sorted.
