I used my Telstra account [email protected] to login on the Boost website and register my Boost number.
Using this same Telstra account, I can login on the Telstra website but they want to know a driver's licence or passport number.

    • It's so you can produce the same id when it's delivered, a bit over the top, but it is what it is.

      • +1

The website also mentions it can be used for a credit check.
I guess they just use the same procedure as when you buy a new phone on a plan for 24 months.

Tossing up between these and the soundcore a40
Got a pixel 7 pro was wasn't sure which would be better?

    • Bit the bullet and picked them up from the Blacktown (nsw) store. They only have black left

      • +1

        Suburb name checks out.

    • A40 are gr8 and much cheaper.

  • I don't like the feeling of my ears being stuffed. I prefer those like the apple airpods 2. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/apple-airpods-2

This is an insane price for an amazing set of ear buds!

  • I reckon these are fantastic.
Connectivity is very quick and stable, touch controls are responsive, battery life is fantastic, sound quality is awesome across the range.
Fit in my right ear is flawless, left ear not so much but stays in on a long run and I've always had challenges with that ear.

  • Thanks. Bought one.

  • Hi, unfortunately your recent order is out of stock, so we've placed it on backorder. We know you're excited to get your order and we're sorry for the delay. Your order is important to us, so we'll give you regular weekly updates on its progress. As soon as stock arrives, we'll get it on its way to you. Order reference: H…..1234

  • it looks out of stock?? also, can anyone comment regarding ANC functions? Only interested in ANC feature etc thansk

    • ANC is very good i would say. Not airplane worthy but definitely for day to day use…. its nearly on par with airpods pro

don't forget to pay with your rewards points:

Google Pixel Buds Pro - Charcoal

    Telstra Plus Points (used)
    24,900 points

    Price (incl GST)
    $77.00

    • Only works if you have an active service so I cannot use it

Deal would be gone by the time I go activate another SIM

  • Hey guys,
How is it compared to Samsung earbuds Live?

    Thanks

  • I made a Telstra id, but not able to make an associated Telstra account, which seems necessary for the purchase. Their address picker dropdown/text fields in the address form is broken, to contact them about it you need to be signed in, and even that service is broken!

  • Order page freezes in charcoal

  • +1

So I got these buds today directly from a Telstra shop for $149 after initially going in there to validate my identify for the $2 Sim to get a Telstra account. I'm not sure if in the end I actually activated the Sim card, but was able to create a Telstra account. But the fella at Telstra just checked stock and saw the price as $149 and gave it to me.

  • Tried to order again on Desktop, Mobile browser does not show last step…and freezes

Worked this time and paid $149 Charcoal hope it arrives soon

Do you get Telstra Points for buying stuff?

  • Fit is always very personal but I find this a much better fit compared to the A series and much more comfortable for longer listening. ANC very decent.

  • Does anyone know what the return policy is like? I've been looking through the website but have only found information for their plans…

Every earbud and earphone I've ever used has given me ear pain, but I've also only ever used the ones that used to come with a new phone, so I'm interested in giving these a try.

  • i like my earfun air pro 3s

  • If I didn't already have two pairs, definitely would have jumped on this. Great deal for great buds OP!

  • ahh I missed it! out of stock now.

Price matched at Officeworks at 7:12 pm in Greenacre for $141.55.

One employee said not possible and went to another and they did it.

    • +2

Do they not say it's Telstra deal only some bs like that? Or you went and told the staff?

OW always give that excuse saying it's not a public deal

      • I'm having trouble understanding the question. But I asked the first person if they price matched with Telstra and they said no. Then I went to second and said if they can price match the buds then I showed them the screenshot that I took of the buds from the Telstra deal

        • -1

You got very lucky because OW don’t normally match Telstra deals. Seems the person you spoke to weren’t aware of their policy or just didn’t give a (profanity).

          • +2

@Maths Debater: Reckon the poor worker just wanted to go home.

            • @JamYomb: I'm always confused why that isn't the default case. It's not like they get a commission for each rejected price beat or punishment for each accepted offer but you wouldn't think so by the contortions they go through and the excuses they come up with. Maybe corporate training brainwashing is actually pretty effective after all.

          • -1

@Maths Debater: What policy? Nothing I can see online anyone can become a member of telstra

    • Also price matched office works rutherford they made some excuse so rang up head office and did it no issues… Always a hassle price matching at officeworks

  • I went to the Woden ACT store, and picked it up, no question. Didn't need to get a Telstra ID (so saved $2.)

  • +1

Already got the shipping notification and getting delivered today, that's good work by Telstra!

    • +1

      And delivered this morning.

    • +1

Telstra are not so good for me as mine are on back order which is the same as the Pixel 7 that I ordered.

  • Looks like another backorder issue enough though I ordered at 5am on the day….

    Hardware delivery delayed
Sorry, your Telstra hardware delivery is delayed due to stock levels. We’ll let you know when it’s on its way.

Just got one in-store. No Telstra ID needed.

  • +1

Just picked up a pair instore so they are still available if you look.

  • +1

JB online would not price match. JB store did it without even checking what I shown them. LOL.

  • Was told on chat today 6-8 weeks wait on my order. Their processing seems confusing. I ordered at 5am. Thought I would've been in the first group.

They are drop shipping from Google it seems 🤣😂

  • Got one from in-store today.

  • Grabbed one from in store today. Telstra account not required, they did ask if I wanted to use points. Also noticed that the charcoal seem to be available online right now?

  • +1

should have been more active on ozbargain. im just finding out now that optus had the same deal months ago as im not on telstra. this is a great deal

  • Still hesitate to pull the trigger, I am Telstra user, but online review says ANC not good, so…

    • I think they are ok. Wouldn't complain being $150. Also the RPP is $300, therefore there is an expectation it will last at least 3years. If not return it for replacement/refund.

  • +1

Google Pixel Buds Pro - Charcoal available on Telstra Reward Store now, if someone is looking to redeem their points.

  • yup, charcoal colour back in stock. Thanks

  • Just purchased in-store, appreciate the heads up (although it involved a 45 min sit-down consultation with a staff member for some reason!)

    • +1

Did they ask you to cough?

      • I did think photocopying my drivers licence was a bit ridiculous when im trying to pay with cash

    • +1

The good news is you are now OT I

  • Is there a date on how long these will be available in store for?

I might try the Telstra shop and then attempt Jb and Office Works as my backup.

  • Are these good for teams call??

    • yes, from my experience

  • +1

Seems like September 4 is the end date as that's what was on the sign when I went in store today. They didn't have any in store though, so might try a different store tomorrow

    • Charcoal ones are available again online

  • +2

Pricematched at office works nerang. Love it!

  • would these pair well with the s23 ultra? currently am using airpods pro 2 with it.

    • They work with any device that has Bluetooth.

      • No, i meant if i can fully utilise the features as in is there an app for them on samsung devices?

        • I guess yes, you need a Pixel Buds app from the Play Store.

    • +1

NO they DON'T (I have these pixel buds pro and s23U as well). When paired with Samsung, you only get audio in one ear on calls! Apparently you can fix it by disabling google assistant - but then what's the bloody point of these buds. That said, even though I disabled assistant, i still couldn't get audio in both ears on calls. So freaking frustrating.

Have a google, you'll see that this is a common and known issue.

  • Bought these about 2 months ago. Really not a fan.
Pros - google assistant in your ear, good enough ANC
    Cons:
    - HORRENDOUS fit - thing was so bloody slippery it would fall out no matter what tips I used
    - When paired with Samsung S23U, you only get audio in one ear on calls! (it's a known issue) Absolute nightmare, genuinely

I left them in the cab a few weeks ago but not regretting the loss. Will swap to something else

    • Thanks for sharing.

I bought the Fog colour on 16/8 and still on back-order now. I guess I'll better cancel the order and wait for a deal on Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro.

I like the ability to swipe to increase/decrease volume on Pixel Buds instead of double/triple tap on other buds.

    • The fit is perfect for me. I am wondering if you are wearing them the right way?

      • Yeah i fiddled with it in every possible way. The right one was OK the left one couldn't stick no matter how much I tried. Although I guess people's ears are different and this one in particular just didn't sit that well with me.

  • Has Telstra's online store always been so unwilling to take your money? They must have peanut fed monkeys running that web site.

  • Anyone got an ETA on this yet?

    • +1

I was told at least another 4 weeks.

Also told - "If you are not happy with this outcome, you may escalate the matter with the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO)."
