Hoping the Shopback Fast Food gc still works at Coles. I don't have access to discounted category choice.

  • Has anyone tried paying rego at VicRoad with these? I vaguely remember someone mentioning in the past that VicRoad would only split payment into 3 cards maximum.

    • +2

I think you may be able to pay using one card but the remaining fee must be in cash because split payments by card is no longer accepted.
Thanks to @AsukaST who kindly posted the latest update here

can I use the 10% off Zip card to purchase this card?

  • 2000 Bonus Flybuys Points (Worth $10) on $100 Google Play

they're actually 10% off this week at Woolies, No funny-money points

    • If you have a rewards credit card you're better off using this deal to get 10% worth points than you are to have a 10% cash discount.

If I use my Qantas credit card on the points deal then I get points on 100% of the gift card value, then get $10 worth in points.

If I use my Qantas credit card on the discount deal then I get points on only 90% of the gift card value.

      • Just recently received new qff card and don't have any idea on how flybuys work with them.

Just to confirm if I understood your example correctly, if I buy a $100 gift card from this deal do I get $10 worth flybuys points and then get points worth anothet $10 when I redeem these points through qff?

Sorry I could have worded my original comment a bit better.

What I am saying is that if you go for the option where you spend $100 with a credit card that accrues points, you are accruing credit card points on that $100 purchase. If you were to go for the $90 option, you would only be getting credit card points on that $90.

With either option, you only really end up being $90 out of pocket ($100 minus $10 in FlyBuys Points = $90). The difference is that if you go for the $100 option you end up slightly ahead with credit card points.

But rewards points aren't worth much. And $90 for $100 value is better then $100 for $110 value, About $1 more value.

  • Can I pay my Zip Pay balance with these ?

    • +1

      no, Zip requires 3d security

  • I really hope that similar deal start coming to shopback instead of us running around Coles and Woolworths fighting and hiding cards it is better it gets digital only.

  • -1

    Hide & Seek starts now

    • Haha painfully true. The bastards hide them so well.

  • All states?

  • Can anyone else check their balance on colesmastercardbalance.com.au? because it doesn't work for me and I can't see the balance of my card

    • +3
    • Edit:as above

@johndoe789 have you tried mybalancenow.com in incognito mode?

      • No luck unfortunately

    • Also a tip. In the past, checking the balance prior to using the card made the company put a block on the card, meaning I had to call customer service to unblock it. I think it's a safety percausion on their end. I had to list the shops I used it on and the approximate amounts to prove it was me using it.

      • I usually call the number on back of card to check balance as soon as I purchase the cards. Not had any problems and done it dozens of times.

        • -1

Thanks for the tip! I'll do the same going forward.

    1. make sure your caller ID is on
    2. Call the number on the back of the coles prepaid mastercard 0756606022
    3. follow the computer generated voice prompts
    4. hear your balance
  • Is the limit of 5 mastercards per day or the whole promotion period?
edit: found the answer 5 cards limit for the whole week

    • 5 cards per account during the promotion.

  • -1

can I use them to purchase giftcards?

  • Can you use this to put credit in your tax account before doing tax return?

    • +2

      Yes.

  • Useful reference for those wondering if you can use X prepaid card to get this.

  • +4

Public service announcement: fully spend these GCs quickly after buying them! Don’t take the risk of the hackers guessing your card #’s and using your money. It can happen, and a few on here have been victims.

Not sure if it still works (but it did within the last year or two), but these cards were acceptable payment on PayPal, and you could buy Woolies gift cards with these. I didn’t go through NRMA for the 5% discount, but did it when Woolies had their own discount deal. The usual card use for ATO bills, Sniip, etc. should still work.

  • I remember last year on 27/12 they had the same deal.
There was no stock from day 1 and they did not restock during the whole period (confirmed by staff in oral).
I guess no one is really working during Christmas period.

  • Which is one better? ($100/$250)

    • +3

$100 is the sweet spot as you get the same 2000 Bonus Flybuys Points (worth $10)

  • Thanks OP

  • Does this only apply to 1 card or can you get 5x and get 5x 2000 points ?

    • +2

If you purchase 5 with a valid Flybuys card you will get 5x 2000 points.

    • I only received 1 not 5 x 2000 points

  • Does anyone know if these can be added payment methods on ShopBack? The Prepaid Vanilla Mastercard does not work anymore. I get error: "Unable to link card. For security reasons, you can't link this card to ShopBack account. Use a card from a different issuing bank and try again."

    • +1

I haven't had a problem with using these cards with ShopBack, or anywhere else. I have however had issues with using Vanilla gift cards.

      • Thanks! The Vanilla Mastercard ones used to work for me on ShopBack (can't exactly remember when was the last time I used it) but I tried last week and it failed.

This promo is not on the catalog at store but it should still be OK

    • It's in the catalogue for my local stores.

      • SOmehow it's not on the catalog at Ashfield store.

  • +1

Bought 5 today but the transaction hasn't shown up in my Flybuys account. Usually it's instant in my experience. Let's see what happens…

    • +1

Woolworths is generally instant, Coles/flybuys will be in the account by 5pm tomorrow

    • +1

Never instant for me. FB takes a day or two to update on my account. Only instant update for me is for Kitchen Knife Credits for some reason.

    • Never instant.
Always after 5pm the next day.

    • I only received 1x2000 points instead of 5x2000 points

  • Anybody can confirm if we can use vanilla visa from woolworths to pay for this?

    • +1

Not this time unfortunately, i tried to use in 3 different coles, none of them worked, they blocked now, I previously used lots of time.

      • Thanks for confirming.

I totally forgot about this deal, only saw it at Coles but without the Vanilla cards.

Anyway they didn't have any $100s on the shelf, plenty of $250s.

  • -1

    This is not in catalogue

    • It's in my catalogue ( NSW)

      I didn't neg you ^^^ Ash-Say

      • Would you mind sharing screenshot from the NSW catalogue?

    • It's in the Victorian catalogue.

    • +1

I can see it on the bottom of page 39 of the following catalogues:

I saw posters for this deal in-store earlier today too.

  • Lots of $250 available but no $100 at few stores I checked yesterday… 😑

  • I've received the regular 525 pts but the 10,000 bonus pts is missing.
That's very strange as they should come together.
I am calling flybuys hotline now.

    • I didn’t get the bonus points too.
      Did they say anything?

      • They said the regular & bonus points should come together, I am not the only one and they helped me to email the relevant team.
Bonus points should arrive next week, hopefully.

        • Thanks. I went through previous threads and it seems the bonus points sometimes takes an extra day or two to come through.

I’ll call next week too if they haven’t arrived.

        • So does everyone have to email them to get the points?
Sure these Flybuys offers fill you with confidence that they will work…NOT

    • Didn't receive bonus points either, weird

    • Didn't receive my bonus either. Purchased 26 Dec.

      • Same here purchases 26 Dec no bonus points

    • +1

Update: Bonus points received just then.
      Took 48 hours.

      • Got mine as well.

    • same here

  • Have not received my bonus points.. sometimes it may take 48 hrs

  • I received the bonus points this evening for my purchase yesterday, but I suspect it is due to me buying the $250 denomination.

    • +1

I bought the $100 cards yesterday evening and received the bonus points today.

    • +1

I also bought 5 x $250 yesterday and still waiting for bonus points.
Will give it a few days before I call them but I suspect it'll come eventually.

      • Update: Bonus points received just then.
        Took 48 hours.

    • hey @WookieMonster
Do you know if there is a limit to using these GC to pay the ATO per day? I remember reading it was max 10 per day right?

      • +1

It should be a maximum of 10 cards every 12 hours:

        • +3

Recently I have been able to do 10 via myGov more than once. As well as the 5 via EasyPay.

          • @Yola: Thanks. I tried 10 cards last night to pay ATO and they all seem to have went through. How long does the ATO balance take to update normally?

  • Has anyone added the Coles MasterCard gift card to PayPal today? I just tried to link one $100 card and received this message, highlighted in red:

Your card has been declined. Please try a different funding source.

    • +1

I just linked a $250 Coles Mastercard gift card to my PayPal account without any issues.

      • +1

Thanks for checking. I tried again but got the same message.

Always a risk of being negged 😂

        • +1

It's OzBargain, at the end of the day!

I should have also mentioned that the gift card I linked to my PayPal account was one I purchased on Thursday and already made a purchase using it.

  • I inky received 1x2000 points instead of 5x2000 points. purchased on 27th

  • Yesterday I had a card with expiry of 06/28 and 07/29 declined. Has anyone else experienced this?

    • Declined where? That matters too cos some sites do not allow prepaid gift cards.

      • I'm sorry, that is what is stated when you try to buy these Coles Mastercards if they cannot be activated. Then you have to get a refund, as you only know after you have paid.

        • +1

Got one 30 mins ago, mine also declined for "refer to issuer", manager had to come over and get a different card reactivated instead, lucky the second one worked. Manager said to me that it had been happening throughout the entire promotion and that she had enough and ended up taking all the $100 cards off the floor and put them behind the counter, lol.

          • @7bobas: That is also what the manager did at the store I had two declined in a row.

        • My local Coles removed all the $100 gift cards from the shelf as they had issues with activation. I bought from another Coles with expiry 07/29 that could be activated.

          • @trixieb: I bought 3x $100 today with 07/29 expiry, worked fine.

    • Yes, today - some of the cards with these expiry dates are duds. I had five $250 cards not activate.

    • +1

All cards with expiry post 06/27 need to be properly registered by the Incomm reps to the particular store for the activation to be successful. This was introduced a couple of months back as a remedy for card tampering (those scratched out cards). Now card tamperers would have to remember where the cards came from and put them back in the same store, which would also increase their risk of being caught and exposed.
If you've ever wondered why it is so hard to check the balance on these cards, it is probably for the same reason. Incomm has severely limited the number of cards a single IP/phone number/cookie holder can check in a short period so card tamperers can't effectively check the status of the cards.
Interestingly gift card issuers no longer block cards checked prior to activation anymore, which used to be a pretty common practice. I actually thought that would be a more effective idea.

  • Still waiting from friday.

    • Same, still only base points. Used to always be credited the next day by 6pm, the last deal was taking an extra day, and now this.

      • Same here..
