Swann 6 Camera 8 Channel 4K Ultra HD Pro Enforcer NVR Security System $1,349.95 Delivered @ Swann via Kogan

80

Great deal for someone looking for NVR CCTV. I managed to price match via chat on Swann's website. Then, while checking out on Swann's website, I used discount code (EOFY20) to get 20% off ($359.99) on original price $1,799.95. So ended up paying $989.96 including free delivery. Hope others get in quick before the code gets discontinued possibly due to system error.

Hikvision, Dahua, UNV are the way to go for cost effective CCTV system. Other than these 3 are all false economic.

    • Is Reolink really that bad?

      • +1

Reolink is not bad, just in the similar situation with UNV. Smaller company can't compete with Hik or Dahua in terms of R&D investment and cost down due to volume.

    • Thoughts on ZOSI 4k ip nvr? this one to be exact - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/185855181997?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…

        False economic!

        • Anything to back your claim, or just based on an assumption?

          • @h0dl: I buy Kia Picantos instead of Mercedes all the time. Exact same thing.

Seriously though - go buy it if you want it. I think @hotwinter comment is spot on, but you might get lucky and it will last and be OK and the quality may be acceptable for you.

Not for me though, the brand screams low quality:

            • @Ramrunner: That's not the product I mentioned, but I appreciate your comment. So hikvision, dahua and unv are built to stand the test of time?

              https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/hikvision

              https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/dahua-technology

              • @h0dl: It is the brand you mentioned and they don't seem to have commercial products so would all be from the same consumer parts.

I did not mention either of those two other products either BTW. I'm aware of those reviews.

We can't all afford Axis or Bosch for example, just saying I would not buy Zosi. IN FACT if I was choosing between Swann, Uniden and Zosi the other two would actually win out as they are sold in stores here in Australia which makes them easier to retun.

Just don't know how you'd go with Zosi.

As I mentioned though, you might be fine. Just really wanted to say I agree hotwinter that cheap does not AT ALL mean good value these days. Especially with some of the crap coming from overseas.

                • @Ramrunner: Yes it is the brand I mentioned, but I'm not going to discredit the entire company because of the reviews of one their products, that I'm also not interested in.

You didn't mention hikvision/dahua no, I just assumed as you were backing hotwinters claim.

Based on my research, every home security camera system supplier has mixed reviews, doesn't matter how much you spend. Yes you are right though, they don't have a store in Australia yet, and I may come across some hurdles returning it. But for 8 x 4k poe ip, 2way audio, starlight, lights/siren, 4T nvr, for $820 - I'm happy to try these out.

@h0dl: Of course - and you'd be doing us all a favour when you get them if you let us know how you go. Maybe even some pics of footage in light and dark etc., whether the cameras are metal and weighty or plastic and light, that kind of thing.

I'm happy to hear what they're like. I was just saying if I was spending on CCTV I would swing towards known brands that are known and proven entities, or through retailers OR with known top notch support rather than Zosi support. If you do more Googling, the vast majority says the support is no good.

That's me though - different horses different courses.

But yeah, for sure let us know how you get on.

  • Also, as for 4K resolution only benificial under these scenarios:
    -The camera is installed in a controlled lighting environment or no low light surveillance is required;
-Spend over AUD700 per camera from above three manufactures could possiblely get you a half decent 4K camera.

    • Are there any good value 2k NVR bundles for the three brands you mentioned that you would recommend?

I've been looking at 4 camera reolink bundles but come across reviews that echo what you've said

      • +1

It depends on what you want from your cameras really.

If you just want to be able to monitor your property when away from home, and get alerts when people or vehicles show up, then a basic Reolink bundle is excellent value - excellent daytime performance, average night performance and a very comprehensive feature set for relatively little money.

4k resolution cameras generally give clearer pictures during the day, and slightly noisier pictures at night. If you are determined to be able to positively identify people at 10m+ away at night, you need to spend bulk dollars to get fancy cameras with really good night vision (or have all-night or automatic flood-lighting).

        • Cheers mate, appreciate it
