What's the extra in Deluxe edition?
He just said that in the first line lol
It's not just Tolkien's illustration. Lol
@akula: Could have googled it
Mainly cosmetic differences. The content is the same in both.

I got the deluxe version of this. It's a really nice package, but honestly - I much prefer the Alan Lee illustrations in the 2020 hardcover edition. No single volume, but also single volume is pretty awkward to actually read.
Alan Lee’s Tolkien work is definitely among my favourites, very very closely followed by John Howe.
this was $26ish on prime day
It was US$26 in the US (on Amazon USA)?

We should strive to end wokeness
@ironworthy: Some people should learn what it means and the origins of it. But that would require thinking and effort.
I've got this version of LOTR. Started reading it at Christmas and still going…
Price changed, gone above $60 now.
yeah, it was $46 when I viewed it and it literally changed to $60 as I put it in my cart. :(
they made this into a book? lolz
I got the deluxe edition and it’s really great to have Tolkien’s illustrations alongside the text.
At this price, the hardcover would be a good entry point for someone who doesn’t want to splurge on multiple books and also wants an (almost) comprehensive edition of the text and the accompanying illustrations in one place.
