Welcome to the ultimate guide of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions!

IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023:

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to use it for anything. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • This deal is expired and is effectively over at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

18/07/23: OlduBil has increased their top-up fees to 9.3% (up from 6.25%) stating "Dear customer, our global operations cost increased due to high inflation rate in Turkish Lira. In order to continue the service we provide you we had to change our top-up commission to 9,3%. We appreciate your understanding and support."

Updates:

  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Turkish Lira have crashed even more, so I've corrected all prices in this guide!
  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Fixed the incorrect plan total amount, thanks to @6wolfy9
  • 27/06/23 1:30pm - Due to the sudden and large number of transfers from you guys, Wise is now giving a transfer date of 3rd July. Please avoid Wise if you can and go the Revolut route. I can confirm Revolut transfers are much faster within minutes (or hours at the latest). For those who have already initiated a transfer via Wise, feel free to cancel the transfer (or let it send anyway in case you want to buy cheap Turkey products and services or sign up to other cheap Turkey subs) and go to Revolut.
  • 28/06/23 1:00pm - Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer. - thanks to @netsurfer
  • 03/07/23 2:00am - Edited method, I'm so sorry for making all of you pay for an extra month for no reason for the 36 months plan. Please forgive me.
  • 04/07/23 6:30pm - Microsoft must have caught on, and are blocking OlduBil Virtual cards due to security issues (good fraud prevention). This is an easy fix, and THIS DEAL IS STILL WELL AND ALIVE! Here's what you need to do:
    • Log on microsoft, then go to Contact Us. Click "Contact us" to bring up the 'Contact us' window. For the first dropdown field "What are you having trouble with", select "Subscriptions and Billing". For the second dropdown field "What's the issue", select "I need help purchasing content". For the third field "Describe your issue", man up and say something. Click "Next" > "See contact options" > "Chat online" then you'll be connected with an agent instantly. Tell them you are not able to add your credit card and ask if there's a problem on your MS account. If they ask ridiculous questions, pretend it's all working fine and start a new chat.

Credits to @Scrooge McDeal, who suggested I make a guide on this awesome ALL TIME LOW deal! And you probably know me by now - if I make a guide, best believe it's gonna be good (let me know if someone else can do it better pls). Like Netflix and Disney Plus and literally every guide I've made, I spent a chunk of money out of generosity to test the current validity of this method (I tested transfers from Wise into OlduBil) as well as annotating screenshots throughout the sign-up process (see screenshots in the instructions section). From this testing, I believe this opens a new doorway to a variety of insane deals and prices we weren't able to previously obtain. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up.

The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day. The 14 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺374,94 TL ($21.64 AUD, or $1.55/mth) and the 36 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺1034,72 TL ($59.68 AUD, or $1.66/mth). Note that despite the long term 36 month plan has a higher $/mth, it works out cheaper because if you signed up to 14 months, you'll be paying almost 3 times higher if you want to extend at the end of the 14th month.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • No VPN required
  • You must have no current subscriptions

Part 2a - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Wise (App or Web)

Wise fee: ~A$2.13, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Log in or create an account on Wise. You can use the Wise website, or the Wise app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).

  2. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account via PayID (instant, no fee), POLi (instant, $1.18 AUD fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (business days only, no fee).

  3. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, click onto "Australian Dollar", then "Convert", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "continue" then "convert". Wise charges a 1.07% fee for AUD-TRY conversions.

  4. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, click onto "Turkish Lira", then "Send", then select "Same currency". Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Wise charges a ₺24.34 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). Click "continue", then "New contact", then "Someone else". On this page, leave the "their email" box empty, and tick "I know their bank details". For the "Full name of the account holder" field, type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and for the "IBAN" field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. Continue and in the "Review transfer details" section (see screenshot), double check everything is correct and then for the "Reference for TURK" field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Tick the confirmation box and then "Confirm and send". This transfer will only be initiated during normal Turkey business hours and takes around 10 minutes on Wise's end. My transfer took 2 hours to land into my OlduBil account.

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Part 2b - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Revolut (App only)

Revolut fee: ~A$1.79, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Download the Revolut app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) if you don't already have it installed.

  2. Open the app and log in or create an account (if you don't have it already).

  3. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account via a debit/credit card (instant, no fee), Apple Pay (instant, no fee), Google Pay (instant, no fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (usually instant, no fee).

  4. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, select "Australian Dollar", then "Exchange", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "Review order" then "Sell AUD for TRY". Revolut charges no fee for currency conversions.

  5. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, go to the buttom tabs of the app and click onto "Transfer", then "+ New" (top right corner), then select "Send International". Scroll down and select "Türkiye" as the destination. Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Revolut charges a ₺30.15 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). For the transer method, select "Bank Account" (this is probably default anyway). For the Reference field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Click "Continue", then on the "Who to pay" page, tap "+ New" (top right corner). Select the "Business" tab. For the IBAN field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the BIC/SWIFT field, type in the BIC code you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the "Company name", type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and ignore the email field. Press "Add the recipient" then on the following page, enter the VakıfBank address (the one from Part 1 Step 3) and review the transfer and estimated arrival, then send it off to Turkey :))

HELP POINT using VakıfBank: TBC but very similar to Aktifbank (just different bank information) see above screenshots for process

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Turkey trading starts 4pm, so we just have to hang out for then

Thanks, another guy just told me the same thing. I didn't account for timezones! How embarassing, I almost never comment and when I do, I do that lol Have a great day :)

  • +1

Bro! Kudos for writing up this procedure. This would have taken alot of effort. God Bless!

    • Hey, I just posted above and I'm new. Can you tell me why my Revolut is still pending? I sent it June 29 :(

        • Of course, timezones… trust me to make a rare comment and embarass myself. Thanks for the quick reply!

            • @xwx: Part of why I was nervous. I left it two days then got an email about verifying my Revolut again. But this time verifying worked. I was worried it had messed it all up lol I will see today after my work shift… have a good day and TY foir the helpful comments :)

  • So if I'm making a new account for this (don't wanna join to my existing MS account), any special considerations? Do it in AU microsoft?

  • Is there any advice/recommendation now on whether to use your existing MS account (used for other MS things but not game pass) to purchase via Turkey, or spin-up a new MS account for Turkey game pass?

    What's best/safest? Pros/cons?

    • Main points to consider when switching region:

      • The money in your Microsoft account. The funds in your Microsoft account will not move with you. Be sure to spend the money in your account before you change your account location. We can’t transfer money between regions.

      • Your Xbox subscription. Any time left on your Xbox subscription, such as Xbox Game Pass, will move with your account to the new country/region. If these subscriptions aren’t available in your new country/region, your current subscription will remain active but may not work as expected.

So, if there is still credit in your Microsoft account, use up the credit BEFORE the switch.

If it is for XBox, then might be easier to just create another account. For PC, it's tricky because switching between accounts could be a bit annoying.

  • I made the transfer back on the 27th of june, they told me it would be there on the 28th. They didnt mention anything about closing down. If it wasnt for someone else telling me on here i would assume i have been scammed. I have no trust at all in revolut or oldubil. piss poor effort.

    • Revolt just transferred(received by recipient bank) the funds 11.25 (awst). Now waiting for Oldubil.
Did also put in money last week. So 5 day wait because public holiday.

  • Keep getting "timestamp value is exceeded on the send OTP request model" when trying to register Olubil account, anyone experienced this? (when it attempts to send code via SMS).

    • Sounds like an application bug. Pry reloading the app or phone. Also, some people had issues sending these OTP SMS to NZ mobiles.

    • Yes. I ahd the same issue. I ended up shutting down the app, waiting 5 minutes, then re-did the verification and it worked.

      Same Stage now :)

    • same here

    • Yup, same here. Revolut just sucessfully transfered it out. Expected arrival is today. Fingers crossed!

    • Same here.

    • I'm not sure what the point of saying "same here" is but I guess it makes me look cool so I'll chime in.

      SAME HERE!

      • same here.

    • Tomato, tomato. Same, same.

    • Same here

    • have you had any luck with it transferring through? Im 4 hours waiting now. Hoping i entered the numbers correctly

    • Same here.

      Revolut
      27 June 23:26 Start transfer
      02 July 13:26 Sent to receipient's bank
02 July Received by receipient's bank

      OlduBil
      02 July 18:00 still nothing….

    • First transfer came through (actually second, so they don’t go in a special order). Just a small one. Waiting for the 1300 one now so I can do Xbox one. Just got 365 in there. But at least it’s on its way.
For the 390 from Revolut they took 24.38 so ended up with 365.

  • So looks like Revolut has transferred my money, but just realised I've input the mastercard details with spaces.. anyone done this and not had it transfer through?

    • I've made 2 transfers with spaces and they went into the account ok.

      • Awesome! Fingers crossed
        Thanks mate

    • i wasnt able to do that. there wasnt enough space to input all those characters. That is how i figured out i was entering spaces without. I was using the app.

  • Anyone else getting the following error after purchasing the first 3 month sub (in Part 4)?

"Unfortunately, the page you requested cannot be found.
The URL may be misspelled or the page you're looking for is no longer available.

    Error code: ZL4chEM6cL7lm4G+TDifQ+.31"

    • Must have been a timing thing (ie trying to do it all too fast) because the error is now gone. Second lot of 3 months now purchased!

      • I found I needed to wait about 30 minutes after buying a 3 month sub and turning off auto renew before I could buy the next one. And I needed to close all the MS/Xbox windows while waiting.

    • Did you get funds into your Oldubil already? I am still waiting for the funds to appear on app.

      • Mine took about 4 hours (made the transfer this morning) from Revolut.

        • +1

I did the transfer last week. Still pending for the TRY balance to show up.

@arctan: Same here. Got confirmation that it has hit the Turkish bank account today via Revolut - but still not seeing it in the Oldubil app

          • @arctan: Same here. Guess they do new transfer first and bulk upload for rest of us as lots of transfer from last week to catch up on.

        • Uggh guess it's not first in best dressed then :(

          • @fortyfour: Or maybe it's because I had previously performed a transfer? I cashed in on the Spotify deal about a week ago which meant I had to follow the same instructions. Is this your first transfer to Oldubil?

            • +2

@Obar123: My first transfer. Hopefully there later tonight. But guess tomorrow.

            • +1

@Obar123: Hopefully. Perhaps manual link up needed on first transfer, and then automated on subsequent ones. Let's see

        • did you initiate the transfer this morning? I did it last week and had to wait for the holidays to finish. Still nothing

        • +1

Do you get an email advising that the money is in Oldubil or is it simply a matter of refreshing the app regularly and waiting for the ₺0 to climb to the magic numbers?

          • +1

@mattmel96: One of my transfers is across, 10 minutes ago or so. No email.
Waiting for the first transfer. Just a small one second transfer just in case. So don’t go in order. At least on its way.
The one that is through was transferred from Revolut the 29th and the other on 27th, waiting for that one.

            • @Mikael: I've just added a second ₺50 as I didn't allow enough for the Oldubil commission.
Had an email from Revolut saying the big one went and received by bank but nothing showing up yet.
Will just keep trying and refreshing.

  • alright just hit 4pm, hopefully it will pop up in the Oldubil app soon :)

    • same, they also will not except my licence as you can not read 1 number on the back.

    • My Wise transfer initiated on the 28th started showing that too today, but it has now gone through (30 minutes after it initially claimed it would). Received an email from Wise when it completed. Now I'm just waiting for it to show in the Oldubil account. Edit: 1.5 hours after Wise completed, it's showing in Oldubil :)

  • Transferred money through revolut yesterday. Got the notification this afternoon that funds have been transferred. Oldubil still on 0.

    • Looks like a few of us are in the same boat. Little bit concerning given that Odabar123 transferred today and had their money show up within a few hours.

      • It was my second transfer (one last week for the Spotify deal), I wonder if that makes a difference?

      • +1

Oh well…. as long as the amount shows up before 6th…

  • Anyone received Lira from Revolut which was transferred last week (before the Turkey' holiday)? I still haven't received anything.

    • I'm still waiting as well

    With this payment method I've purchased a few games direct from Xbox Turkey here;

    https://www.xbox.com/tr-TR/

No VPN required. Then just turn on your Aussie Xbox and install from your full game library.

Some of the game prices are super cheap compared to Australia. I was even able to by The Binding of Isaac which isn't available on the Australian Xbox store.

    To see the price of a game you want search here;

  • My Wise transfer Tues 27 @ 9am has just gone through 3/7 @ 16:21 Sydney time. Not showing in OlduBil yet :-)

    • +1

Same. Mine took 20 minutes to appear in the OlduBil account. The dream lives.

    • Still waiting

    • Yep same here. Just waiting on Oldubil also

    • Should be coming through shortly. Mine has come through now.

    • Wise transfer got completed at around 4:05PM Aest still not showing in Oldubill….how much time would it normally take to reflect?

      • Mine completed today at around 4:30PM AEST, and took about 1.5 hours to appear in OlduBill

    • I forgot about this after waiting for so long, but I now have 460.26 tl in OlduBil from 490.95 tl sent from Wise. Don't know how long it actually took, but it made it, minus comissions 😬

  • Do you have to use the OlduBil app? Do they have a web version?

  • +3

Money has entered my oldubil account. 5:22pm AEST.

    • +1

There seems to be about 80 lira deducted from the expected transfer amount.

      • That's Oldubil's commission, I suppose.

    • When did you do the transfer? Was it from Wise or Revolut?

      • +2

I did one with wise, one with revolut.

I did the wise transfer about 4 hours earlier than revolut and both were done after missing the public holiday deadline.

The cash from wise has gone in, still waiting on revolut.

        • good to know

      • bump

      • +1

        Nothing from Revolut yet

  • +1

Ah damn it! I didn't transfer enough from Wise to OlduBil, and I still need to purchase 3 months of console pass and 1 month of ultimate.

Hopefully the next transfer of funds happens a bit quicker, I'm in the middle of the process and paranoid something will screw up now!

    • Hah! Just got confirmation Wise transferred.

Now for the money to appear on OlduBil.

  • How much do we need to transfer to OlduBil in TL to cover 3 years?

    • 460*3 for Deluxe plus someone mentioned 6.5% commission on top of that.

      PS
      Wrong topic, lol.

Equivalent of 70 aud would do. 1050 Lira + commission.

    • +1

I sent 1330 from Wise to OlduBil
I have 182.18 left after doing the full process for 36 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
      So ~1148 in total.
For $66 AUD, I can not complain!

    • Around $75 AUD

  • +4

Wise finally did the transfer and I've successfully bought 3 years of gamepass. So good, thanks OP!

  • got an email saying its done? but still havent recieved it to oldubil?? anyone know eta

    • Same thing happened to me, emailed them for an estimated time, they said to send details of transaction. No followup yet.

      • Have the same thing happen to me, Wise shows transaction completed since two hours ago.

Who did you email? Oldubil? Or Wise?

        • I used Revolut,

But I emailed Oldubil because I assumed Revolut has done their end of the transaction.

  • -1

Transfered $100 to wise, ended up 1601TL in OlduBil which is equivalent to $92.16 aud. Almost $8 in transfer and converting fees. How much is the fee if using revolut?

  • +3

Damn still not in Oldubil over here

  • Wise finally sent through my money today and can confirm that it still works :)

  • Same here Revolut to odubil nil.

  • +1

Does it matter if I forget to add the last dot to "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." ?

    • I hope not. I just noticed mine didn't go either when i copy/pasted the information.

Been 2 hours since my Wise payment confirmation was received. Based on how long others took, I expected it should be done by now.

  • +1

One of my transfers is across, 20 minutes ago or so. No email.
Waiting for the first transfer. Just a small one second transfer just in case. So they don’t go in order. At least on its way.
The one that is across to Oldubil was transferred from Revolut the 29th and the other on 27th, waiting for that one.

    • Did you get your larger one? I have a transfer from the 27th that apparently was received almost instantly but i still cant see it in Oldubil.

      • Still waiting. Was going to start the process but having issues now with card address on Xbox sub page. Reading through comments.

        • Got the other transfer. Now having issues like most others with address.

  • +1

Revolut says transfer done at 1:26pm. but oldubil still doesn't show me the money. Is it taking a while with all the backlog perhaps?

    • +1

      Same as me 😭

    • +1

yeh i had the messages come through around that time as well and nothing in Oldubil…
