Welcome to the ultimate guide of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions!

IMPORTANT UPDATE 26 JULY 2023:

OlduBil: "Transfers from foreign bank accounts to our bank accounts in Turkey are not possible".

  • OlduBil is no longer accepting deposits/transfers from foreign bank accounts. Please DO NOT make any transfers into OlduBil (i.e. your Türkiye Mastercard) until further notice!

  • If you already have the funds in OlduBil from a previous transfer, you are free to use it for anything. For those wanting to top up your Türkiye Mastercard, please DO NOT initiate any transfers into OlduBil from Wise or Revolut until I have a new update

  • This deal is expired and is effectively over at this point in time. Every transfer done is at your own risk!

18/07/23: OlduBil has increased their top-up fees to 9.3% (up from 6.25%) stating "Dear customer, our global operations cost increased due to high inflation rate in Turkish Lira. In order to continue the service we provide you we had to change our top-up commission to 9,3%. We appreciate your understanding and support."

Updates:

  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Turkish Lira have crashed even more, so I've corrected all prices in this guide!
  • 26/06/23 11:40pm - Fixed the incorrect plan total amount, thanks to @6wolfy9
  • 27/06/23 1:30pm - Due to the sudden and large number of transfers from you guys, Wise is now giving a transfer date of 3rd July. Please avoid Wise if you can and go the Revolut route. I can confirm Revolut transfers are much faster within minutes (or hours at the latest). For those who have already initiated a transfer via Wise, feel free to cancel the transfer (or let it send anyway in case you want to buy cheap Turkey products and services or sign up to other cheap Turkey subs) and go to Revolut.
  • 28/06/23 1:00pm - Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer. - thanks to @netsurfer
  • 03/07/23 2:00am - Edited method, I'm so sorry for making all of you pay for an extra month for no reason for the 36 months plan. Please forgive me.
  • 04/07/23 6:30pm - Microsoft must have caught on, and are blocking OlduBil Virtual cards due to security issues (good fraud prevention). This is an easy fix, and THIS DEAL IS STILL WELL AND ALIVE! Here's what you need to do:
    • Log on microsoft, then go to Contact Us. Click "Contact us" to bring up the 'Contact us' window. For the first dropdown field "What are you having trouble with", select "Subscriptions and Billing". For the second dropdown field "What's the issue", select "I need help purchasing content". For the third field "Describe your issue", man up and say something. Click "Next" > "See contact options" > "Chat online" then you'll be connected with an agent instantly. Tell them you are not able to add your credit card and ask if there's a problem on your MS account. If they ask ridiculous questions, pretend it's all working fine and start a new chat.

Credits to @Scrooge McDeal, who suggested I make a guide on this awesome ALL TIME LOW deal! And you probably know me by now - if I make a guide, best believe it's gonna be good (let me know if someone else can do it better pls). Like Netflix and Disney Plus and literally every guide I've made, I spent a chunk of money out of generosity to test the current validity of this method (I tested transfers from Wise into OlduBil) as well as annotating screenshots throughout the sign-up process (see screenshots in the instructions section). From this testing, I believe this opens a new doorway to a variety of insane deals and prices we weren't able to previously obtain. Please show some love and any comments, concerns, suggestions or feedback are welcome :)

Modern problems require modern solutions. Like Youtube, Netflix, Discord, Google One, Microsoft 365, relocating (virtually of course) to Turkey is usually the best option, with some methods saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year added up.

The processes below are very easy, just take it slow and you'll get there! Just remember you'll be saving hundreds at the end of the day. The 14 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺374,94 TL ($21.64 AUD, or $1.55/mth) and the 36 month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan will cost ₺1034,72 TL ($59.68 AUD, or $1.66/mth). Note that despite the long term 36 month plan has a higher $/mth, it works out cheaper because if you signed up to 14 months, you'll be paying almost 3 times higher if you want to extend at the end of the 14th month.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • You must have no current subscriptions

Part 2a - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Wise (App or Web)

Wise fee: ~A$2.13, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Log in or create an account on Wise. You can use the Wise website, or the Wise app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android).

  2. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Wise account via PayID (instant, no fee), POLi (instant, $1.18 AUD fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (business days only, no fee).

  3. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, click onto "Australian Dollar", then "Convert", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "continue" then "convert". Wise charges a 1.07% fee for AUD-TRY conversions.

  4. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, click onto "Turkish Lira", then "Send", then select "Same currency". Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Wise charges a ₺24.34 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). Click "continue", then "New contact", then "Someone else". On this page, leave the "their email" box empty, and tick "I know their bank details". For the "Full name of the account holder" field, type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and for the "IBAN" field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. Continue and in the "Review transfer details" section (see screenshot), double check everything is correct and then for the "Reference for TURK" field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Tick the confirmation box and then "Confirm and send". This transfer will only be initiated during normal Turkey business hours and takes around 10 minutes on Wise's end. My transfer took 2 hours to land into my OlduBil account.

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

Part 2b - Topping up your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard with Revolut (App only)

Revolut fee: ~A$1.79, OlduBil fee: 6.25% of transfer (~A$4.35 for a ₺1200 TL transfer)

Update: 28/06/23 1:00pm - **Due to a public holiday in Turkey from 27 June to 1st July (Kurban Bayrami Holiday), all transfers are delayed until Monday 3rd July. Please keep this in mind when making a transfer.

  1. Download the Revolut app on the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) if you don't already have it installed.

  2. Open the app and log in or create an account (if you don't have it already).

  3. Top up Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account (at least $30 AUD for the 14 month plan, $75 for the 36 month plan but no more than $160 because OlduBil allows a maximum deposit of ₺2750,00 TL ≈ A$160 per month). You can add Australian Dollars (AUD) into your Revolut account via a debit/credit card (instant, no fee), Apple Pay (instant, no fee), Google Pay (instant, no fee) or Manual Bank Transfer (usually instant, no fee).

  4. Convert your Australian Dollars (AUD) to Turkish Lira (TRY). This conversion should be instant. To do this, select "Australian Dollar", then "Exchange", then select AUD → TRY and type in the amount you wish to convert and press "Review order" then "Sell AUD for TRY". Revolut charges no fee for currency conversions.

  5. Send your newly converted Turkish Lira to your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard. To do this, go to the buttom tabs of the app and click onto "Transfer", then "+ New" (top right corner), then select "Send International". Scroll down and select "Türkiye" as the destination. Enter the amount of Turkish Lira you wish to transfer (Note: Revolut charges a ₺30.15 TL flat fee for a single transfer, so this fee will be added onto the amount you enter). For the transer method, select "Bank Account" (this is probably default anyway). For the Reference field, you must type in your OlduBil Virtual Turkish Mastercard number (without spaces). Click "Continue", then on the "Who to pay" page, tap "+ New" (top right corner). Select the "Business" tab. For the IBAN field, type in the IBAN you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the BIC/SWIFT field, type in the BIC code you wrote down in Part 1 Step 3 ~~. For the "Company name", type in "TURK ELEKTRONIK PARA A.S." and ignore the email field. Press "Add the recipient" then on the following page, enter the VakıfBank address (the one from Part 1 Step 3) and review the transfer and estimated arrival, then send it off to Turkey :))

HELP POINT using VakıfBank: TBC but very similar to Aktifbank (just different bank information) see above screenshots for process

Note: Make sure you only transfer the amount you actually need to pay for your subscription (add a few dollars extra in case due to currency fluctuations) because due to regulations, OlduBil does not allow withdrawals unless you originally signed up with a Turkey phone number.

    • Not sure if we need to verify the account or something? Oldubil says my account is unverified when I go to options. Not sure if that is the issue for the lack of transfer.

  • Thanks for this OP, im on the revolut train and am waiting for money to show ip in oldubil

    • Same here. Been refreshing the app like crazy hoping the result would change.

      • Do you know the definition of insanity?

    • Money was in just before midnight last night AEST

  • Wise Mentions that it can take Upto two business days, hopefully it will be done before this deal expires…

    • When my Revolut transaction was "received by bank"
They told me it can take up to 5 business days still, fingers crossed it doesnt actually take that long

    • The transfer I did at 4:30 said the same thing but it went into the account at around 6:30.

      • Ok thats great to hear, im in the middle of emailing Oldubil anyways, just so I can get some communication/insight.

        • What did you end up saying? And did you provide proof of transaction of some kind? (and how to get that proof?) Probs gonna send them an email if not showing up on the Oldubil app tomorrow

          • @ThatNintendoKid: I told him I didnt receive the money, they kept on asking for bank receipt. I didnt really know where to get that so i sent him the "Confirmation" and the "Transaction" details (i think?) But anyways long story short, he said it wasnt what he was looking for. No further response.

            • @Gobnim: Hmm thats not so good. Where to go from here? Just keep waiting in the hopes that it comes before thursday?

  • +8

When I try add my Oldubil mastercard to my Xbox account, this error message comes up:

"Girdiğiniz bilgileri kontrol edin. Bu kartın bilgileri ile eşleşmiyor"

    which google translates to

Check the information you entered. It does not match the card's information.

My name, card number, CVV and expiry date are all correct. Triple checked. Any idea what's going wrong?

    • +3

I'm currently getting this issue too. I wonder if it's something to do with the turkish address/postcode needing to somewhat match the virtual mastercard.

      • +1

Oh crap I hope not, as it's been so long I've forgotten the postcode I used. I'm gonna try message Oldubil support and hope they can tell me. Unlikely to work as it's a breach of financial information, but maybeeeee?

        • +1

I didnt have to put anything in the address for Oldubil when creating a new account.
Did you enter random Turkish address when creating a new account?

          • +1

@arctan: I think you're right, I never used an address when creating an Oldubil account either.

            • +1

@bayleyb: That's no good. If they have to match the address then none of us can bypass this. There is no way to put in the a Turkish address now in Oldubli app.

            • +1

@bayleyb: i dont recall entering an address either

    • +1

same issue here - have entered and checked multiple times, it just will not work :(

    • +1

same here, any ideas of what to use to get past that?

    • +1

Yep same here now. Not sure what the go is

      • +1

Deal expired maybe? Same issue for me too.

    • +1

same issue here, have tried different accounts and addresses

    • -2

Address for a card and for PSN account must match.

    • +1

Any luck peeps…..I am also in the same boat now !!
      Card details are all correct.

Tried multiple addresses it just won't work.

    • +1

Hmm, I wonder if Microsoft has implemented some additional layer of security/verification after what I suspect was an unusual spike in signups from Turkey.

    • +1

Yeah from what I'm reading it is mentioning that the information inputted does not match the information that is provided on the card, which is a real (profanity) problem as I don't remember the information I put on my card either lol.

      • +2

Using a VPN to Turkiye with the Virtual card also does not work (Windscribe)

    • +2

@I Smell Pennies Any suggestion to this issue ?
PS - Bringing to your notice if you haven't seen already

      • +2

I’ll have to redeem it again to know. Waiting for money to hit a mate’s OlduBil acc

    • +1

Yep same issue… anyone had a resolution yet?

    • +1

Did you try finding a new address until one worked?

      • +1

Have a feeling they are matching card details including address, So we need to contact Oldubil and find out which bank / Location the card is registered to? I doubt they will give that info.

        • I've tried that with some address found on their website but nothing works. Also tried connected to VPN and no luck :(

      • +1

Have tried heaps of addresses, still nothing.. :(

      • +1

        Tried multiple addresses
        With VPN/without
Existing MS account and New as well
Tried adding payment details to account first but that also didn't helped.

Nothing worked as of yet, any other suggestion ?

        • Well, on the incorrect card problem - it finally worked for me when I created a new MS account and added payment information first before heading to buy 3 month subscription. Adding payment method to an existing account on same address which worked was not working for me (no address was working infact).

          Try if this helps.

      Same issue here.

    • Also having same issue. Might have to end up using it for other subs. Would be great with Xbox though.

This seems to have worked for couple of us:

      The steps I took:
      1. Tried couple addresses, nothing worked
      2. Went to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments and selected "Add a new payment method", under For purchases in I selected Turkey
      3. Entered in card details. The Billing Address was already saved from my previous attempt in no. 1. Pressed Save
      4. Went back to purchase 3 month xbox live gold subscription, credit card details were saved

Specifically city: Küçükçekmece, Istanbul. Someone had postcode 34295, mine was 34306

    • Hey All,

Despite contact MS No-Help desk twice, I couldn't get this to work. What I did to get it working was to going into the Account management area and add a billing address first. I used:

Address 1: Ziya Gökalp Mahallesi Hürriyet
      Address 2: Bulvarı No:209/B İKİTELLİ
      Küçükçekmece
      Istanbul
      Turkey
      34306

You need to provide name and phone number and then when you go to add the Oldubil card, the name matches up and bingo. Other advantage is that then when you have logged out and log back in to Turkish site, cc is already pre-loaded, so click and start building your package. My kids have confirmed that our is working great now and showing expiry in 2026.

Huge thanks to @I Smell Pennies for all the work on the initial post and his assistance with helping out others.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Occidental Ankara!
Never had I thought of traveling to Turkey on short notice, but after hearing of some wonderful tourist attractions, I just couldn't resist…
I'm sure the memories of my time in Ankara and Turkey will follow me for some time - 3 years to be exact!
Many thanks to my travel advisor "I Smell Pennies", and at least one of the two low cost money changers recommended in his channel.

Has anyone received their payment when transferring from Revolut yet? I did it yesterday and it says the bank I transferred to has received it today.

  • I'm on the ~8pm 27th June Train. Everything all cleared and sent from Revolut.
Still waiting to see the funds in Oldubil.
Guess ill give it a couple more days and hopefully it'll come through but will update if it comes through earlier.

    • I'm with you there. Sent it at 7:50pm on the 27th and still waiting

    • Same deal, nothing yet

    • Same here too, think I transfered few hours earlier on that day too - nothing. It even says 'Completed' on Revolut….

    • mine just arrived.
Also i was able to add my card to my account prior to getting the money received.
No issues adding my no balance card to my account.
Time to make some purchases now

I received email from Revolut at 1:30 pm, still waiting to show in my Ob account :(

    • From Rovolut, mine is from 1:26 pm. I'll update my progress once funds available. Any good news from others?

      • Mine is 1:10pm still waiting the money in Ob

      • +1

Nothing yet - got email at 1:26pm like you

      • My experience: got my money from 23:45

  • I did another transfer today at 3pm via Revolut. They sent it immediately, yet to show up on OlduBil. They probably have a huge backlog

    • Do you reckon we'll still be able to get it before the deal expires?

    • Update the updates at the start of the post to direct people back to Wise perhaps?

Also, 'new and lapsed'. I have about 40 days left on mine, so guessing I should load up my sons as a 'new' customer you think?

    • Edit, in my Oldubil account now :)))

Worked for me, here are some notes:

2023-06-28: Converted $70 AUD to 1153.48 TRY via Wise to OlduBill (Aktifbank)
    2023-06-28: Wise confirmed receiving AUD
2023-07-03 4:31pm AEST: Wise confirmed sending TRY to Turk Elektronik
2023-07-03 5:53pm AEST: OlduBill app displayed 1081.39 TRY (so they had a deposit fee of 72.09 TRY)

    Thanks for the great guide!

There's three concepts that helped me to understand, here's my attempt at a clearer explanation:

    • The reason to turn off auto-renew is to make it show the button which lets you pre-purchase months (but auto-renew is turned on again after each purchase)

    • There's 3 types of subscriptions that you purchase separately, and they don't combine so they run at the same: Live Gold, Game Pass PC, Game Pass Console

    • By subscribing to the fourth type, Game Pass Ultimate, the other three are combined into a single subscription, causing it to add up all the months you've just purchased

So you end up buying 13 months of Live Gold, 12 of Game Pass PC, and 11 of Game Pass Console, and then finally buying Game Pass Ultimate to combine all that into a single 36 month run of Game Pass Ultimate.

      This summary was helpful, thanks!

I have an extra tip: I found out you only need to buy 10 of Game Pass Console to get 3 years, since Game Pass Ultimate extends the subscription by one month.

I bought 13 months of Live Gold, 12 of Game Pass PC, 10 of Game Pass Console, and then Game Pass Ultimate to get my subscription to expire on 2 July 2026.

      • Oh great find, makes sense that the final Ultimate month counts too!

    • You summed it up nicely!

Genuinely didn't think this was going to work in time for me, but ISP… you have out done yourself my friend. Thank you for this MASTERWORK of a guide! Stoked to have 3 years of this for so cheap

    • Did you wise or revolut?

      • It doesn't really matter. The problem is Oldubill processes transaction manually and there are A LOT of them from the last few days.

@MediocreMichael Thank you for your support! Enjoy your GPU sub :)

Is anyone having issues validating the address when entering the master card number? I must've tried two dozen times with different fake addresses, none of them passed the validation. ;(

Yep, scroll up a little, few of us experiencing this right now

Cancelled my xbox game pass sub that would've ended in November 💀 big loss for me if all this doesn't work out :/

    • thats why i was hesitant mine is expiring october… so i created a new account to add it to that but i'm stuck at the oldubil not showing the amount yet bit.. lol

      • Yeah same here. I would've done it on a new account but I am game sharing with my brother and so an alt account wouldn't really work

        • ah ok.. hopefully there is a work around if there is an issue with using oldubil… or if MS is putting extra checks in

  • Can anyone shed some light on the oldubil receipts? After the money goes into your account, when you go to the wallet page of the app, and then tap on the little letter symbol you can view a .pdf receipt. The only problem is, I don't understand how it works.

I transferred $75 via wise, which converted to 1296.91. After Wise took their cut, it was down to 1272.57.
Oldubil received that amount and then took off 79.54 leaving 1193.03 available in the account.

but the .pdf receipt shows (Tutar: 1272.57), (Komisyon Tutari: 75.75 - the commission), (BSMV: 3.79 - im assuming this is some kind of tax) and (Toplam Tutar: 1352.11)

'Toplam' means total. But I never sent that amount. What is the point of the 1352.11 total?

    • Might be just fluctuation of TRY to AUD? Difficult to reconcile the amount to cent level.

    • @Crunchbite OlduBil charges 6.25% commission of what arrives into their account.

      In your case, 6.25% * 1272.57TL = 79.54TL commission

I agree their pdf receipt is quite confusing but just ignore it.

  • Why do we need to buy 13 months xbox live gold?

My friend did 12 months xbox live gold + 12 months game pass + 11 months game pass pc + 1 month game pass ultimate and got 36 months subscription.

    • See updates section, my apologies :( @tianyujojo

Just got the money through Wise and activated.. Thanks OP

    • @randomguy1 when did you add your virtual card to Microsoft account.
Couple of people are not able to do that today including me.

      • @BlackMoon just now… I have added the card payment details under my profile first and continued the subscription add… Adding card details shown here didnt work for me

        • what address details did you put in?

        • I tried doing that as well but it didn't worked.

Can you share what address details you entered ?

          • @BlackMoon: It didn't let you add the payment method, or the payment method didn't work when you tried to use it?

            • @ThatNintendoKid: It didn't let me add it - with the error message.

Check the information you entered. It does not match the card's information.

              • @BlackMoon: Right. Yea i was able to add the payment method no problems, just waiting for oldubil to show my transferred funds from Revolut so i can actually use it lol

              • @BlackMoon: Well, on the incorrect card problem - it finally worked for me when I created a new MS account and added payment information first before heading to buy 3 month subscription.
