Just pulled the trigger on this as $959 with bonus peel/turner seems like a good deal. With the newsletter sign up code it is cheaper than Black Friday specials last year (which did not include free peel/turner).
Ooni Koda 16 with Argheri Peel and Pizza Turner for $959 ($929 with Newsletter Signup) Delivered @ The Pizza Oven Store

Not at this stage. From memory there has been talk that this will be released at some point
you need a NG quick connect hose and fitting and a different jet size, you can get these at better bbq places …. different jet because natural gas is lower energy than LPG …. haven't done an ooni, but have cheapie oonie copy and paella burner ….. jet was cheap, the hose and fitting was expensive …. came to about $100 for parts.
which ooni copy did you convert? where did you buy the jet from & do you know the size?
I've been thinking about the same, asking in many previous deals like this.
The conclusion was that it's actually cheaper to just use LPG. It's also easier, unless you bake daily and would need to switch the gas bottle often.
Cheaper, because - as mentioned previously - natural gas is not as calorific as LPG and requires mods in the connection on the oven, for which you'd need to look for too.
Looks like a good deal!
We love our Ooni (a Karu 16), but got the gas burner and have never used with wood (laziness). We could possibly have just got this…
The pizzas it turns out are excellent.
The turning peel is super useful, we use for turning and retrieval. We use a bamboo peel for launching. I wouldn't be too concerned with the size mismatch (16" oven, 12" peel) as I think smaller pizzas are easier to manage anyway
Also have this, fantastic pizza oven. Hosted many pizza parties at our place with it. Good deal
What is the cooking time like?
What is the cooking time like?
depends on pizza style, but you could say 1.5->2 mins as a guide for Neapolitan style based pizzas
Yep agree with this, mine is sometimes shorter, 60-90 secs
I’m still searching for the perfect base - any tips on what you’ve used with experience?
watch Vito Iacopelli on youtube, he's the master and it's all about poolish but he will teach you how to make pizza sauce & a whole lot more
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-jPoROGHGE (the dough is perfect for an ooni)I can now make pizza's that are like the ones you get from a traditional Italian Pizzeria
Soft and Crunchie in the same time!
I do this one usually, works well for me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IWsV-8jSmII've been using the standard Ooni receipe - works great
Try cold fermentation (1-2 days), its game changer. You can use ooni app to give you all ingredients.
@huntabargain: Agree, this makes a huge difference. I mix my dough in a breadmaker - comes out well, minimal mess. Also make sure the stone is up to temp, 400'C. Use one of these to check https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/779530 (that's how I check mine).
@huntabargain: Cheers i'll keep it in mind
I have a koda 12 and it takes about 90-120 seconds
I've got the Koda 12 - makes pizza's better than the stores imo. Fresh out of the oven is amazing. Paid $487 delivered for the Ooni 12 Gas.
There is a bit of a learning curve so be prepared to botch the first few attempts
Only a 12" peel for a great 16" oven, so you need to spend another $50 or more for a full-size peel.
And in case you're not into larger pizzas, smaller pizza ovens are much cheaper.
Also, there's a $30 coupon for first orders of $500+ if you sign up for their newsletter. The coupon seems to be personalised and one-off. See the pop up when you enter their website for the first time.
If you want to cook larger than 12" (30cm) pizza, could also use pizza screen for launching for 1/2 min till base ready for turning..
This or Roccbox? Any thoughts?
There are pro's and con's for each oven, however one is 12" and other 16". If you want 12" oven then go for the RB (over Koda 12), specially when there is 20% sale, if size matter to you then not many option for 16" gas ovens and Koda 16 is the way to go.
Thank you. Didn’t notice the size difference. Bigger is better!
sure size matter, I have the Koda 16 and is very happy with it, more versatile in cooking pizza and much more.
I've had both, I purchased the 12 while waiting for the 16. The 16 heats on the back and the side, the 12 only on the back. Also the size of the 12 makes it a bit tricky to handle the pizzas in and out, a lot of spinning, slightly uneven cooking etc. Both are great, but I'd say using the 16 is definitely a more "pleasant" experience
I just know i'm going to drop $1k, use this a few times, and then never again.
And yet, i'm tempted…
Not just money, there's a whole rabbithole to go down as well as far as making a good pizza dough.
Alldough you're right, surely I need a pizza this action to start with.
Saw an alternative going for $500 from the flower and garden show, supposedly it does the same job?

Koda 16 has flame on the side and in the back, that one has it only in the back.
But at that price, I'd totally do without the side flame.
There's 7 of these at https://www.selfridges.com/AU/en/cat/ooni-koda-16%27-portabl… for $891 delivered within a couple of days, apparently:
Koda 16" portable gas-powered outdoor oven 1x A$760.00
Delivery By Thursday 8th June 2023 A$55.00
Taxes & Duties A$76.00
Total A$891.00I will never buy gas appliance from overseas, as most likely not compatible with Aust specs reg gas pressure and hose connector, let alone the 5 yrs warranty.
Do they make one that fits natural gas, i.e. gas fittings on my house where I plug my BBQ in?
