  • any good to fix my RSI?

  • Any good and easy to excavate plants/trees with flat chisel attachment?

    This or full boar?

    • Have you checked available stock on the Full Boar?

      • said out of stock online but my local had the full boar on the shelf, bought it but is the detroit better e.g ergonomics ….similar joules / power.

        • Detroit has the additional attachment

I bought the Full Boar, from what I can see, the differences include:

          • The Full Boar has "anti-vibration" main handle. The detroit has a main handle that's attached straight to the body.
          • The Detroit's switch is on the handle. The Full Boar's is on the body, probably due to the "anti-vibration" handle. I find it more convenient on the body.
          • The Full Boar's secondary handle seems to be mostly plastic. The Detroit's seems to be mostly metal.
          • The Full Boar's body has red plastic and black metal. From the photo, the Detroit's white body looks like metal.
          • The Full Boar's end is secured with four spring bolts. The Detroit uses six spring bolts.
          • The end of the Full Boar has narrow cylinder compared to the Detroit.
          • The Full Boar is heavier by 2.4kg (18.4kg vs 16kg). Is heavier an indication of better or worse quality? Certainly lighter will be easier to use.
          • The Full Boar has 1800bpm impact rate. The Detroit is 1900bpm.
          • The Detroit is supplied with a spare set of carbon brushes.
          • The Full Boar comes with a rolling case. No idea if the Detroit has one.

Also free delivery with the Detroit.
          Feel free to further add/comments.

      • I have access to both

  • silly question, can we use this to remove tiles in a bathroom?

    • Yes, and the concrete slab beneath it.

    • Erm … I guess you could, but you would be likely to accidentally remove substantial amounts of whatever is under those tiles as well (i.e. you might be left with something vaguely resembling a moonscape).

      • I meant if I use the flat chisel instead.

        • +1

The result would still likely be as described.

      SDS rotary hammer drill.

    • +1

You could. I'm assuming you mean floor and not walls? For better control of the removal of tiles, it might be best to stick with a hand-held hammer drill with a chisel attachment.

You can hire a jackhammer and trolley, probably cost about 200 for half a day.

Basically the jackhammer has a large spade chisel and sits in a push trolley at an angle which lets it bring up only the tiles.

Or you can got the cheaper way and just tile over your old tiles.

  • Good for people in apartments. Gives you bragging rights with the neighbours.

  • the bunnings full boar jackhammer is 2kg moar

    • Boaring

  • Good for letter droppping business offering your services

  • Wish I'd seen this before forking out $10 for delivery on the Full Boar from Bunnings.
