    • +1

      Call customer support?

    • Absolute debacle all to try save <8%. Never again. I'll be ringing up to ask for refund for purchase that never went through.

  • +10

Those ppl buying 10x giftcards, use it quickly before the hackers do. Save yourself the heartbreak.

  • Any info on Overseas Transaction fees? Can't find anything on T&C's

  • Doesn't work. Tried buying 4 cards using my CBA CC and all I get are 'transaction failed' errors after verifying the transaction.

    • +1

I am on phone to CBA now, will let you know if they are blocking it

      • CBA are blocking it, going to cards team now to allow the purchase

        • I managed to use my CBA card earlier this morning, it didnt go through the first time, but then it went through when I changed browser.

          • @Anna8: Transferred twice, they said its definately a high risk transaction which is why the block

Now getting transferred to senior specialist to allow the purchase

43 mins on the phone :(

            • +2

@BenTheBargainer2013: :\ That's insane, that's some OTT controls there… they do less checks when we are actually getting scammed!

            • +1

@BenTheBargainer2013: Yes I'm doing that now, also said it counts as cash advance…

              • @shap08: OMG cash advance wtf. It's certainly not cash!

                • @Bdawg: 1 hour on the phone, said they had removed restrictions. However still declining….

                  • @shap08: Ouch. You should lodge a complaint with CBA, might end up getting $200 out of them.

    • +1

      yeah same

  • +1

Card was blocked and have to call bank

  • +3

Tried at least 5 times with different cards.
No luck. Keep getting Transaction failed, please contact customer service.

  • +1

Online only! It's going to be a hassle as most online don't allow split payment

    • It states that "Digital Account may be used online, over the phone or through mail order everywhere Mastercard® is accepted."

Anyone know if you can buy Woolworths Gift Cards with this on the giftcards.woolworths.com website?

    • +1

@rekke - use it via PayPal.

      • +3

I just tried it, and it got through but immediately got refunded. The error just says "Unfortunately, we are unable to complete your request for order XXXX"

        • +1

Was that just with the VISA card number, or through PayPal?

          • @rekke: Through PayPal. Using it directly will give an error without being charged.

            • @leiiv: I was able to buy Woolies gift cards successfully via Paypal. Are you using the right amount?

              • @wangasm: Did you buy a discounted gift card through Woolworths website? So you added the Coles MC to your PayPal account?

  • +1

Waiting for the gc to come through before I buy the second batch

Good for all the forthcoming council rates!

    • +1

      It's a bit conservative .
You smash it with all available names and CCs till it's sold out is the go.

  • -1

Tried ING debit card and CBA CC. Both failed. I would say it's all Giftcard.com.au's fault.

    • -1

think they run out of stock

      • Could be, although they should have a better system in place if they've run out of stock. Advertising the offer, allowing people to buy, and making the transaction fail at the very last moment is not a good look.

      • Not OOS.
I just bought couple mins ago with chrome on android.
That's the only browser that I have success with.

      • I am sceptical of them running out - they did a similar promo for Apple GC a while back, and cards were available for the while time period. I think ppl want to get in early so they can start spending them sooner and top up if required.

      • Nope, I experienced the same issue at 9am when the deal went live.

  • +5

Success with crypto.com card. And getting extra 2% cashback too :D
    Happy days!!!

    • +1

out of curiosity, it's 2% in crypto.com's own token. Do you normally transfer it back to AUD straight away? is there conversion to fiat? do you end up paying tax on that 2%?

      • I use those as part of dca strategy, so I keep them in defi.
Re: tax, this is not financial advice, but yes I do pay income tax on those 2%, and use the current price as base cost (koinly do all that automatically)

        • Interesting. Thanks for that

        • +2

Yup same here and getting 3%. So glad there's still aussies using their CRO cards.

  • My order was successful, but still waiting for the digital card. Has anyone received it yet?

    • Up to 4 hours to get delivered.
      Still waiting mine as well

  • +1

failed 7 times. CBA debit card, amex, oversea master. failed every single time.

  • How does everyone intend of using their GC's apart form HECS?
Work pays my mobile, rates already paid, insurance already paid.

    • +1

Buy gift cards. E.g., Woolies/Coles for grocery shopping, Kmart/Big W for household stuff, Ampol/Caltex for fuel, etc.

      • Thank you

      • +1

Sounds good in theory but has anyone confirmed that these can actually buy a Woolworths GC? Only seen a few posts saying they got rejected/refunded.

        • +1

used to be able purchase wws gc, but not anymore.

        • I manage to buy Woolworths GC, through PayPal

    • +1

Smart way is use it to buy discounted gift cards .
Dumb way is to buy gift cards with no discount hehe .
There is cashable methods but no way that crap going to be shared here .

      • +3

You can also use it to top up your gambling account…… but need to go through that turnover shit before cashing out.

        • what turnover shit ?

        • Wouldn't they just block your account (Ban you permanently) if they notice multiple prepaid cards getting added?

        • I tried Betfair previous deals . They only allowed one and blocked ac until scans provided . But after that said don't do it anymore and opened it.

      • +2

Apparently Woolworths GC 4% discounted not working. Which discounted gift cards are people using?

  • +1

Failed on mastercard with OTP multiple times and failed on visa with OTP.

Received notification that my cba card was being charged but upon opening the account, the transaction never appeared.

  • +3

Glad I didn't jump on this deal, looks to be a PITA not worth 8% in time/hassles.

    • Yep unless it can be quickly converted to 4% Woolworths GC/3% WISH GC for a fast 11~% discount

Does not look like a good system

Can you use these cards to repay Zip Pay balance ?

    • +1

Unfortunately, we cannot accept prepaid or load and go cards as a payment method.

      https://help.zip.co/hc/en-us/articles/360001571695-Why-can-t…

      • +2

You may be able to topup to revolut account and then pay zip from revolut card?

        https://blog.revolut.com/a/how-to-add-money-en/

        • tbd.

        • It didn't work when I tried it, but this was a couple years ago.

When I looked it up at the time there was a help article from Revolut stating that it's a prepaid card, but I can't find it now so maybe things have changed?

edit: Still the same. Revolut card can't be added to Zip.

Hmm…something’s not right with your card.

Please contact your bank to find out what’s wrong or try another debit card.

          • @HomeAlone: Zip lets me add a revolut card, haven't tried actually making a payment though. Authorised and added successfully. Did you use disposable or multi use virtual?

            • @vodamerc: I tried to add the physical card.

              You?

              • @HomeAlone: Multi use virtual worked for me

Edit: Multi use virtual seems to have a different BIN to the physical and disposable.

        • +1

Update: Unable to topup Revolut using the gift card.

  • Failed on my 86400/ubank debit card.
There is a pending "Visa Provisioning Service AU" entry with no details.

Tried a credit card with VISA sms verification and transaction went through.

    Wired system.

If added to Paypal, will it show up as paypal balance or a separate card?

    • +1

      Seperate card I believe

      • Ok, cheers. So I guess paypal will use backup payment if not enough load left on this card to pay for something?

        • +3

Payment will fail if there isn't enough balance on this card.

          • @apple0604: Ah, too bad.

            • @docpol: Can you choose how much you want to pay with the PayPal card?

I thought I saw people mention earlier in the thread they were using PayPal to get rid of small balances to pay bills.

              • @JHoliday: Not sure. Yeah, saw those earlier comments that why I asked re: partial payment.

    • +2

      Can confirm it’s Seperate card

  • How do they know if you've bought multiple cards? Bought 2 to test.
