      • Yes it can depend on the company.

Can these cards be added to PayPal? Sydney water for example doesn't charge card fees if through paypal.

For ones that don’t allow a nominated amount on their website then use post bill pay as a workaround. It’s also sometimes a workaround to not pay credit card fees (but not always).

    • You haven't tried my favourite unknown browser BRAVE ?
It can sometimes sneak through where other major browsers have failed.

    • Sane here, called gift card support - blaimed bank, called bank-blaimed coles again called gift card support….this time thay said …they will work out and email back…but I don’t hope as coles tech team is the worst tech team in the world.

    • Could this be the reason?

      https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-05-16/banks-fraud-reporting…

"The Australian Banking Association (ABA) says the new digital platform, called the Fraud Reporting Exchange (FRX), represents a major development as it will streamline communication between the banks, allowing them to let each other know quickly if funds have been sent to a scammer."

    • Multiple cards? Don't think you can split VISA payment on Jb Hi-Fi online.

          • @joewg12: Never mind. Just received my last two cards

For those who has problems with multiple card providers, this may be the reason:

Does anyone know a way to combine these cards to pay for places that don’t accept split payments?

  • FYI
    Purchased 8x $250 cards at 9:00AM
Received 4x e-cards at 12:00pm, in one batch and received 4 more at 12:24pm as a second lot.
    Thanks OP!

  • Can this be put into afterpay?

    • I dont think they can

    • Afterpay don't allow to add pre-paid card to wallet

  • The people who received their cards. Did you try to buy some thing or check the balance to see if it work?

  • When does the egiftcards come through

    • looks like btwn 2 to 3 hours.

      • Bought at 9.37 and it’s been 3 hours and haven’t received

        • I ordered at 9:01ish, got the cards at 11:54. Some of the users above have reported getting them anywhere from 2 to 3hrs.
But maybe coz of the number of orders the delivery window is getting extended.

  • Good

  • +2

Could this - in theory - be used to pay people via Paypal Friends & Family? Website says that using CCs comes with a fee, but that is lower than the margin from this deal on the $250 card.

    • +1

Paypal will not let you do this.

      • Thanks. I am just genuinely curios, don't even have a PP account

  • Any one bought 20 using different email id or 2 trasaction

Used same card and phone number

  • Ordered at 10.08am, 12.43pm still waiting.

    • 2.23pm still waiting

      • Received at 3.18pm
So for those still waiting might take 5hours+

  • Received invoice at 9:52 but still no cards …

  • looking at so many CBA and other bank blocking a card it looks like better to buy physical from coles .. lol :D obviously subject to hacking risk.

    • +1

I am sure the online ones also can be hacked.

      • -2

definitely hacking is possible to any card but the one in the store are openly exposed to any one scanning it with a device that doesn't require packet to be opened and still able to steal data .. !

technology is too much advanced now a days… !

my bank once said that this days hackers can scan card data and print duplicate card on the spot but the only thing they can't get out of card is CVV number unless they see it and that is why never give CVV number to anyone over the phone .. !

        • openly exposed to any one scanning it with a device that doesn't require packet to be opened

Can you explain to us all how a magnetic stripe can be read wirelessly?

They only work using a magstripe reader head, which would require the card to be out of the packaging.

          • @DoctorCalculon: You don't need wireless as you can touch package so sure there will be packing between card and reader but that is why I said technology advances and next time you will learn that people can get details from your wallet without needing for you to hand down your card.

      • +1

Customer service no longer allows us to park the cards by having them semi-deactivated.
I guess too many people have made similar requests, and they just got sick of it.

        • +1

Like a temporary hold? That's no good. Need to use asap

  • Bought 10x $250 using Westpac debit card and firefox browser.. chrome and edge not working

  • Do these digital cards have
    - Card Number
    - expiry date
    -CVC?

    • Yes for all of the above.

    • Yes, I just got mine 4 hours on the dot, and it has card number, expiry and CVC

        • +1

Are you one of those hacker groups? lol

          • @TanedaR: I bought mine at 10:30 and haven't received yet, I want to know the risk of being hacked. I know the physical ones have first 8 digits and expiry the same so I stop buying them last year.
I'm only asking if they are the same; I'm not asking for the detailed numbers. I don't understand why I'm being downvoted.

      • My dad hasn't got his. Now after four hours, his card has been deducted but no gift cards to show for it.

    • i'm still waiting on cards to come in but there is a transaction on my Commbank CC that is pending. I've received an invoice as well so that should mean it has gone through. Can't really confirm until the cards are here

edit: i only purchased 1 card ($231.30) as I was testing it out so I'd guess that might be why

  • Are people with home loans, generally only buying an amount they will use quickly? Someone mentioned an activation fee, is that just the purchase fee? Just trying to figure out how quickly i will use this and / or if i am better off just keeping the money in my loan.

    • +2
