beats the officeworks price beat from today ha ha
Do they price beat jb perks price?
Beautiful!
yeah wow this is nice. If my laptop wasn't new last year id jump on this.
I’m feeling like doing the ol flick on gumtree and pick me of these up.
Doesn't tell weight?
1.35kg
1.39kg for OLED models.
https://www.binglee.com.au/products/zenbook-14-led-14-ryzen-…1.35kg for the IPS
Thanks guys. Got email with code as well.
Ryzen 5 vs 7? Hows the oled touch?
Only 14% faster on CPU Passmark vs my old 4600u Lenovo lappy.
That being said, the OLED screen be very nice.
Rip to anyone who ordered earlier today
Is it worth paying extra $225 for the Ryzen 7?
You get 1tb instead of 512gb, too. To save the hassle of upgrading, perhaps. If you don't need the extra storage, my view is the $225 is better spent elsewhere.
Ahh nice i didnt notice that. Might as well go the Ryzen 7 then
Ryzen 7 1tb ssd
Amazing price, kind of wish I waited for this instead of getting the MSI from this deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/772062
Not sure how the 13th gen compares to the Ryzen in this Asus
This has OLED. Huge selling point but the MSI CPU is a touch faster
What have I missed?
https://nanoreview.net/en/cpu-compare/intel-core-i5-1340p-vs…I was comparing to the Ryzen 7. But yep the Intel is 10-15% faster in benchmark. I'd still take the Oled screen any day though
@cyrax83: Yep, I love the OLED .. using Yoga 7I OLED now … but i need an urgent upgrade as this is an i5-1240p. Need to get 13th gen.
It should given we're talking about a last gen ryzen vs new intel. The new Ryzen ends in 7x40 (7x30 is last gen).
Not really comparing the same thing. That MSI is a little beast work laptop. This ASUS is an all rounder.
Why .. your MSI is heaps faster / better CPU.
mate same here lol. i kidna want a heavier laptop to feel more premium. is that odd?
yes, very odd and very wrong.
the MSI is heaps better with the CPU and performance .. this Asus thing is old school.
thanks for the sanity check lol
Would you go this or the MacBook Air m1?
It's really a Mac or Windows decision.
Fanless is pretty amazing though.
…and battery and performance.
I might be wrong - for Windows must be plugged in for the best performance (as well as the fan noise), but not the M1.
Ryzen 7 ordered!
Oh hot damn I really want to go for this, my bank account will not be happy.
I was going to buy this laptop, but saw these comments in the past posts
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13738371/redir
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13744634/redirBetter check it in the store before you buy
Guess I'll find out tomorrow. I'll report back
I hope the “screen door” effect is not too bad on this touch screen version. Please report once you find out.
Did you have any luck with checking the oled screen?
Just put a new post
anyone got real world battery stats on these? Name chrome open, youtube in background and typing in a word document
Is this enough to do some Photoshop and video editing, or should I just get m1
What’s the gpu like?
Price went up without $30 off
Price is showing as $1349… $1214.10 with 10% off code. Did the original price go up? I can't tell as it's not in the title. Or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any advice :-)
There's another $50 off ($1,299) yesterday, this discount has been removed today.
Bugger. Thanks for letting me know
Is it going to over volt and explode like their ROG stuff?
It’s a Samsung boom all over again!
Reporting back - the screen has a fine mesh all over it. Its visible on anything that isn't black, and is quite visible - even from a decent distance. Pretty bad and ruins the OLED screen. The mesh was even more pronounced than other touch screen laptops I saw.
I've cancelled my order in store. Really surprised Asus let this through but maybe Asus knows its garbage because their locked down PC was all black themed. Was hard even finding a white screen.
Guess i'll look for a non touch OLED in the future
Thanks for the update. That's not good, let's wait for non touch OLED deals in future.
The previous model Asus Zenbook OLED Touch screendoor effect wasn't as bad from what I could see. I suspect either Asus used cheaper OLED panels in this model, or the 90hz refresh rate or high res display caused some issues.
Either way - a non touch OLED would be ideal if screen quality is paramount
I agree, having fine mesh on a beautiful OLED screen ruins the whole experience. Do all OLED laptops have this issue or particularly ASUS only?
Let's hope for non-touch OLED deals soon.
For anyone curious, here is similar to what the mesh looks like
Thanks for the photo, that looks very bad on otherwise a beautiful OLED screen.
Do you know if new Zenbook touch OLED models have the same issue with Intel 13th generation processors?
I'm not too sure but I assume so because it's the same screen/panel
I think it's safe to go for a non-touch OLED model then.
@buddysayshi: Do you know of any non-touch OLED around similar to this price point and specs?
@cyrax83: Not at the same price point, but pasting a link below for the latest ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED non-touch 120Hz Intel Core i5-13500H processor for $1,699. It seems like a good price to me with a lot of computing power of H series processor as well as 8-10 hours of battery life.
https://www.computeralliance.com.au/asus-zenbook-ux3404va-m9…
@buddysayshi: that's not bad I'll keep an eye on it
@cyrax83: This is already $100 off than normal price.
@buddysayshi: This is OzBargain. Need 20% off. lol
@cyrax83: LOL, need to wait a bit before getting a significant discount, it's a newly release model.
Sorry, is there something I missed, is this zenbook Oled display?
Yes
Was it worth it? I went to Jbhifi today. Then didnt buy. I wanted flip. But its like 2k for 11th gen i5. And i feel thats too old.
Do you reckon we will get any good deal in EOFY? This was pretty good I guess.the price went back up.
Not worth it IMHO having that mesh effect. Hopefully more EOFY deals in the coming days.
I wont be in Perth :( I will have to online order. Wouldnt be able to touch and feel before buying.
If you want an OLED model and doesn't require touch, go for a non-touch model which doesn't suffer from the screen door effect.
Great price
