Excellent musical, would reccomend for adults. We loved it. Tip - Come early as there's pre-show entertainment.
Yeah nah they didn't do that sadly. Was it for closing night or a special event?
No, it was actually the second night. It only played for a couple more nights before the second lockdown kicked in during mid 2021.
We only got there in the nick of time, so don’t know if there was any preshow entertainment in Sydney. Sounds like you may have got your value add at the front end.

Saw this a few weeks back, was pretty amazing. The comedy theatre is perfect for it and it's completely captivating the skills of the actors/musicians was incredible. Great story and well worth the price of admission.
100% agree on the being there early. Reminded me of a pub in Ireland, felt immersive.

Outstanding show - saw it in Sydney two years ago before their season was truncated with the second Covid lockdown. Hopefully the Melbourne production replicates Sydney where the cast and a bunch of muso’s hung around for 90 minutes after the Sydney show playing music straight from Temple Bar - was a great atmosphere for those who like dark ale, the Rattlin’ Bog and Galway Girls.
Great excuse to have a trip to Melbourne - or if you can’t make it happen, at least go an stream the similarly wonderful Glen Hansard movie of the same name…
