        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/266123036007

        $103 delivered with code SNSOAPR

        • +1

Amazon and eBay are both still Scorptec

          • +3

@bloom: Yes, but eBay works out cheaper for those requiring delivery (only Tingalpa QLD has stock for pickup) + stack with gift cards.

        • EBAY out of stock but direct still avail (subject to order fulfilment confirmation).
Maybe the ebay "stock" needs to be manually replenished (showing 8 sold/out of stock).

          • @alxr0101: Also out of stock on Amazon

            • @mjae01: Mine shipped, but I got the deco x20 three pack

              • +1

@bloom: Paid a few extra $$ and ordered direct from Scorptec (ebay out of stock). Whilst on Scorptec, added the 3 -pack for $129. Shipping notification received today.

                Pretty good for a total of 4 units $228 (1 x 4G/LTE and 3x X20).

    Bought one thanks Op

  • is this portable or does it need to be plugged in for power?

    • +1

No, it needs to be plugged in.

  • What plans are people putting in these? I'm assuming you just pop in a sim card.

    • +1

Correct my in-laws use it. Telstra 4G through JB for $59 a month 400GB data. Works a treat.

      • Do you think a mobile data sim plan on a 4G/5G router is better than NBN 50/20 or 100/20 in term of Speed?

Also, Network Stability and number of connected devices concurrently as I got like 50 IoTs devices?

I'm not using a lot of data per month. Max 200-300GB so considering between an NBN or Mobile Data plan, which is usually cheaper between the one.

        • +3

I would always go fixed line NBN above any option far more reliable. I have a x68 and 3 x50 units and have 50-60 devices online at any point combination of wifi and Ethernet and they don't miss a beat.

          • @mjae01: I've been using the D-Link DSL-896L AC 5400. Only 3 persons at home, but with 50 IoT devices and it seems it started getting struggled. Connection on devices drop every now and then for a few secs and then back on shortly. Not sure if it's my phone, my laptop, Chromecast TV issue or the router couldn't handle that many connections at a time.

            • @Bargain Fighter: Can try adding a separate router or switch to offload the main router. Depends if they can exist on a subnet..ie doubleNAT.. (with a router) but a switch combined with an AP may minimise load on the main router.

        • +1

Too many variables with a mobile broadband connection. You could always do a speed test using your phone at various locations around your house?

          • @mjae01: Yeah, tested before and just tested again now with Speed test on my phone with Boost 5G. Very poor speed and unstable connections.

      • Do you have a link to that deal, please?

  • +10

Officeworks pricematched on phone. No dramas. The bloke couldn't believe it.

Scorptec is also doing 2 x20s for $99 or 3 for $129. Cracking little setups.

    • +7

Just to clarify, these are the X20Voice (built in Alexa)

      3 Pack
      2 Pack

I'd be ripping that red base off real quick

      • +1

Agreed. Apparently also the Alexa implementation is useless also. But they're essentially $40 a unit!

      • This should be a separate deal! For those who are not looking for a 4g mesh system.

    • 3 pack $799

      • Got the 3 pack for $149 just before it went back to 799

  • +1

I will note that Scorptec are in the middle of informing their customers of a data breach…

  • I guess TP-LINK is clearing the stock for the new 5G model.

    • I agree.

  • Is officeworks still open on the phone to pricematch? The IVR said 6PM for me.

    • Not sure sorry.

  • +1

bought one as i have the x20 dsl and have been waiting on a deal for the mesh ones

  • Can a single x20 mesh ap please go on sale

    • You can use this as a single access point.

      • +1

I guess. But it looks different from my other ones. Can't be having that lol.

        • Fair enough. I have 3 different types merged into one. X68 x55 x50. This unit is for someone else who has no idea with this stuff. You can pickup regular x20s through Goodguys commercial for cheap.

  • Oh nice haha

  • someone posted the deal about Samsung Z Fold4 $0 on The Good Guys Telstra plan. But the mods took it off. Any suggestions. Is it real deal or just spam

  • So cheap but Scorptec is going through a security breach with their internal systems. It’s probably cheap because the hackers want your details.

  • So buy two or three for Mesh?

    • Depends on the size of your home..

      • But can the routers function as a satellite ?

        • Working Modes 3G/4G, Router, Access Point

        • Yes.. If you have an existing Deco router

  • +1

Noted the Internet download speed is up to 300mbps (LTE CAT 6). Should be enough for a 4G router.

  • Can someone find a deal for this wall mount holder less than $20 each?

  • Also of note; the X20-4G hasn't had a firmware update since Sept 2021

    Seems a little like abandonware

    • Neither has my M9Plus

  • If you want a decent 4G router, consider Huawei B818 which is CAT20, this device is CAT6 which won't give you a good speed if you rely on 4G

    • This will be replacing a b818. Wanting it for its mesh capabilities.

      • Grab the scorptec 2 pack for $99 as well and you’re good. Interested to see how it compares against the champ b818

      • will happily take the b818 off your hands if you want to let it go cheap :)

  • +1

just order the voice deco hope they honor

    • +1

      Mine has been shipped!

  • Is there a good 4G /5G modem at a reasonable price?

Even the 4G only NETGEAR LM1200 4G LTE Modem is going for $170 or above

    • +2

B818 from FB Marketplace. $50-70 appr.

      • Thank you. When I search for Huawei B818 in Market Place I am getting Optus 4G modems

Anyway to confirm that these are B818

        • Optus sold them. They are unlocked.

  • Got it from officeworks price beat, but not really need it~ if anyone in syd want it message me~

  • +1

Just a warning on a lot of Deco systems, you cannot select the source node of the satellite, it will connect only to the main router even if there is a closer satellite with a stronger signal near it.

    • Thats right these older ones do that. The newer firmware, which this one doesnt get I believe, supports the ability to choose.

      • +1

It's so ridiculous to omit the very feature that makes it a mesh network. Had I known this I wouldn't have gotten a 3-pack of X68s. It's gotten 2 firmware updates since I've had it in Nov. Still doesn't have the feature and probably never will ffs.

        • Interesting I have a X68 as my main and two x50s using ethernet and then a x55 in an outhouse and the x55 defo lets my choose which one to connect to.

          • +2

@mjae01: Yeah X55, X50, M4, M5, M9 Plus let you choose as I wrote in the linked post.

  • Is there any way to make the 4g/LTE router appear as a phone to the telco provider? (Are telco providers really able to see what type of device you are using the SIM in?)

    • +1

gl.inet + usb hotspot via phone

      • +1

Basically this, plus whatever method people are using to increment the TTL these days. I think you can add a firewall rule in the web interface to achieve this.

There may be other detection vectors that they use other than IMEI TAC and TTL, but those are the obvious methods.

        • +2

gaslight them if they suspect you. there's also ethernet tethering for android 11+. you can use a shitty usb hub to ethernet into WAN port.

    • +1

Got this in hopes of replacing the NBN connection, but looks like some kind of throttle from Telco, both my Telstra and Optus sim are maxing out at 40-50, while in phone the same sims go up to 210.

      • Telstra is now screwing with the 4g capability of the smart modem, I’m super annoyed

  • +1

Anyone else get an email this afternoon from Scorptec? Emal below. So nice of them to let me replace my $129 3 pack with a $529 2 pack!!!

I hope your doing great and I just like to update you regarding your order. Upon checking with our supplier, the TP-Link Deco Voice X20 WiFi 6 Router Pack of 3 is discontinued and no more incoming stocks. Neverthless, here is an alternative item that might interest you and available on hand -TP-Link Deco Voice X20 WiFi 6 Router Pack of 2 - $529 https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/networking/modems-&-routers/92605-deco-voice-x20(2-pack) Looking forward to your decision if you will proceed with the alternative. • Lol

    • That sucks but probably not surprising considering how much it was discounted. They did post my "TP-Link Deco X20-4G Wi-Fi 6 & 4G LTE Router for $99" so I am happy about that.
