Deals Direct 30% off Site-Wide 6AM-9AM Monday 13 August, $10 Capped Shipping 14 August

941
FINISH30

Due to the success of their last 30% off site-wide promotion 2 weeks ago at Olympics opening ceremony, Deals Direct is going to run another one — 6AM-9AM next Monday 13 August. Coupon code for the day would be FINISH30. Yup, it's 3 hours only and 30% site wide so you better start looking around now and "note down the price".

Some terms and conditions:

  • Coupon not valid for purchase of gift vouchers or products on supermarketdeals.com.au
  • Coupon valid once per email address

On Tuesday they have site-wide shipping cap at $10, with exclusions apply to bulky items for some post codes.

Yup I made a mistake posting a wrong promotion last time, and it's verified this time (at least as I've been told). Also DealsDirect are getting back to me some exclusive offers for OzBargainers — that would be towards later next week hopefully.

EDIT: Shhhhhh… Coupon code seems to be working already.

EDIT 2: DealsDirect has disabled the coupon code as of 4PM Friday. Hopefully it would be re-enabled again coming Monday.

time to get dyson vacuum cleaner..

    • Anyone know how much shipping would cost?
      Looking at getting a DC35

        • +1

That model is out of stock…..was tempted, deliberated a bit, added to cart, then sold out. :(

        • LOL i put it in my cart then was checking out, opened a new window to add a usb flash drive in and now im getting charged $290 for only the usb drive…

      • +1

Im going to guess $10, unless its a bulky item to some post codes..

Can't imagine how I came to that conclusion but it just feels like that might be the answer…

    • any idea with warranty? would it be direct with deals direct? also is it just the standard deals direct 12 months warranty or does dyson have its own warranty?

      • +1

Dyson provide 2 year pickup and return warranty.

        • cheers

    • +1

Be careful guys i am still waiting for the result of the dispute over the payment of last similiar deal.Actually coz of website trouble loading i paid twice thru paypal inspite of ringing very next day they sent me two orders & now not answering my call & mails at all.

      • if you have emails direct after your order, try raising a dispute with merchant in Paypal.
You can show them the proof of your emails.

  • How do we add the code?
is it after the paypal log in or before?

    • It would be before paypal…

    • i figured it out. its near the end. before you hit confirm

Buy this for only $132 delivered. 3TB Seagate HDD with ST33000651AS 7200rpm drive in it.

    http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/seagate-expansion-desktop-3t…

Cheapest you can find in Australia is $389 ex delivery.
    http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=ST33000651A…

I can confirm this as I just purchased it two weeks ago.
    http://upload.ozbargain.com/2012/08/09/9119_hdd.png

    • Thanks for the heads-up on this, might be time to update my QNAP TS-410 to 9TB (RAID 5). :D

    • I can crack open the case and use it internally right?

      • +2

Yes you can. I am using it in my desktop. If you want to use it in desktop, remember to change the HDD into GPT disk. (Default only allow 2TB and 4 partitions only.)

Go control panel, admin tools, management, storage and right click on the icon to turn it from MBR to GPT.

    • +1

I thought the reliability of seagates drives has fallen recently.

pulling it out of the enclosure would void warranty right?
no nothing to protect your $133 spent.

      • -1

Then go buy the $400 retail HDD for warranty.

FYI, I ripped off the HDD and I am able to register serial number on the drive at seagate website. Not sure this will work though.

        • -2

Huh? the drives inside are ST3000DM001, they are around 175-190 each for a bare drive, not 400+. Your thinking of the XT Barra's which were inside some externals late last year.

        • +1

Either way, they're still cheap for 3TB drives. Lucky for me, both drives are noted on the QNAP compatibility list.

        • Might be the luck of the draw which drive you get inside… ryantan1121's final link in his original post confirms it was a ST33000651AS in that particular one (ordered 2 weeks ago).

    • It says it's almost sold out so you may not get the chance to get a further discount xD

    • Well out of stock now.

    • Could you confirm this one is the same one for $389 in STATICICE (please? i am at the checkout and the product seems to be STAY3000300?

      • I showed u the prove. It's the 3rd link from above comment. The model number is for the whole external product. ST33000651AS is the internal drive.

Tested and the drive read 150MB/s which is consider one of the top HDD at the moment

        • -1

Again, not all of them will have the Barra XT inside, most of them will have the ST3000DM001 inside, most likely you got old stock.

        • +1

Since the stocks are not much left and they should be the same internal drive from same batch

        • Not always. STAY3000300 comes up as potential hits for ST3000DM001 as the internal drive, very good chance that it may only have that inside. If you are lucky, then maybe the Barra XT.

        • Thanks for that. Ordered one anyway and finger crossed it will be a Barra XT!

    • What do you guys do with 2TB ? 500gb almost choke me

    • Has anyone gotten their hard drives shipped yet?

Dealsdirect has told me that it will be coming directly from the supplier (not the Dealsdirect warehouse) and mine hasn't been shipped yet.

      • No, not shipped for me either yet. Order status still on "approved"

        • Mine has now been shipped, Dealsdirect checked up with the supplier then provided me a tracking number, should be here in a couple days!

  • +2

i spent $600 last time! damn them! i will most likely spend another $600!

    • Any tips on stuff to buy? I.e. what is the best value? What are the sorts of items that are best to get from this site? Looking at their site, lots of items can be bought much cheaper elsewhere, so does 30% actually save you much?

      Your thoughts are much appreciated.

      • perfume.. watches.. wines atm have free shipping

i bought some dog products which saved me a lot.. eg, dog wormers for $50 rather than $70 at pet barn.

        • Thanks!! I was running out of the wormers!

      • I bought some HP laser toner and a 3TB Western Digital internal HDD. Worth paying more for WD than Seagate IMHO.

        • +1

Only problem with WD is warranty is done in Singapore so you'll have to ship it there… Seagate however deals with warranty in AUS IIRC, only problem with Seagate (at least for me) is their reliability.

      • dont go for any of their desktop if you r into gaming, they all have cheap GPU inside.

so it says it for monday? but the code seems to work now?

    • you're right, just tested it.

wonder if they'll honor it if used now?

    • thanks :)
      just made my order

    • Works, but the shipping isn't capped at $10, wait 'til Monday if you want to save on shipping.

      • $10 Capped Shipping on 14 August Tuesday not 13 August Monday

        • Oops, fail for me, lol.

      • removed - beaten to it

  • Ordered 12 of those 3tb externals cheers.

Needed a few cold spares for the raid arrays.

    • +1

no wonder they are out of stock now.

Just called Nespresso, and they confirmed you can apply their current cashback promo to purchases from Deals Direct:

    http://www.nespresso.com/AU/nes_voucher_aus.pdf

    Makes the Essenza ~ $160, Pixie ~ $190, Citiz & Milk ~ $240, and Lattissima ~ $290.

    • +1

Thanks, got myself the Essenza :)

  • Thanks. Was quite happy with last purchase. Will see if there is anything I need this time.

  • Could someone give me a heads up on a good value portable HDD I can buy on Monday from this deal? 1TB USB 3.0 will do, but don't mind forking some extra for more space.

  • I am in SERIOUS need of a new vacuum cleaner. Have learned you get what you pay for.

Whats the general consensus in terms of the bes Dyson to get?

    • I got my first Dyson during the last 30% off. I got the DC39 multi floor cleaner. People perfer the allergy or animal versions because they come with a better head. I love mine. It sucks up a lot more dirt than my Vax.

    • +1

I LOVE my roomba! It does a great job, AND I don't actually have to vacuum!

    • I own a Dyson. I view them as being mediocre - very little sucking power.
If you look at Choice Magazine reviews, you'll find Miele to be one of the better brands…

  • Guys. Try the coupon code now…..

    • It works now…must be a balls up, get in while the goings good!

  • +3

I have looking for a decent outdoors seat and thought I would take a look at what Deals Direct offered considering the 30% come Monday.

There is a Coleman padded bungy seat for $119.95 on Deals Direct, I then did a bit of googling and found the exact same chair on Down Under Camping for $69.99.

I'm sure there are bargains to be had, just do your research and dont be swept up in the 30% hype!

Please update title to 6am-9am EST. I missed this the last time they did this coz it was too bloody early on a Saturday morning for us in WST!! Monday mornings are much more do-able though :)

    • Obviously you didnt see my comments.

      • I've read through all your comments, and there is nothing in them relating to EST. What are you talking about?

        • See a few lines above. When you posted your comments, the coupon was activated. You don't have to wait till monday to get what you want. Got it?

  • +1

    .

  • Doesn't anyone know if they charge GST?
I have put through an order up to submission (after code redemption) but there is no GST item showing.

    • GST shows up in final invoice (includes GST)

  • The perfumes are very cheap as they are capped shippimg at $6.95 and good value for those perfumes that dont get discounted in chemists like armani acqua di gio mmmm and bvlgari omnia crystalline :D also alot of the laptops are good value with discount so good time to buy one if you need it. Also the discount is working right now

  • +2

Just came back to my desk and found the code has been activated already. ARGHH. Originally they sent me this to give me a head up. Not sure whether they'll pre-emptively send OzBargain any promotion now :P

    • What do they expect you to do? Not post it? =P
Their fault for not setting up the coupon properly!

      • Yeah Scotty not your fault. They activated the code 3 days earlier. I hope they don't go down.

        • Yeah obviously not my fault. However they'll be weary to send OzBargain any promo early for the fear that if anything goes wrong, they'll have a BIG surprise.

    • +2

Maybe it's not so bad. Saves their server from getting OBed on Monday.

  • already sold out of 3tb seagate

    • lol, copie and I put a fair dent in the stock levels. :)

      • -2

Brings my total inventory of the ST seagates to 84 now. 1x24 drive Raid 60 (54.4tb usable) 3x 12 drive raid 6 (27.2tb each usable) 1x 8 drive Raid 6 (16.32tb usable) and 4 cold spares. With the 12 i just ordered will probably dissolve the 8 drive raid 6 and make a single 12 drive raid 6 with the rest being cold spares.

Just need another SAS expander and all is good.

God forbid my order from the amazon sale comes though, will add another 80 SAS constellation drives to my inventory.

With 30% off is this a decent price? and a good hdd to get?

    • seems decent to me. Got this for my mum a couple months ago and it's running fine.

    • Would buy the WD portable over this since total price is similar.

  • how much is the shipping?

  • I think it is single use. It worked the first time for me, but not the second. So I set up a new email account, for which it worked.
