Deals Direct 30% off Site-Wide 6AM-9AM Monday 13 August, $10 Capped Shipping 14 August

941
FINISH30

Due to the success of their last 30% off site-wide promotion 2 weeks ago at Olympics opening ceremony, Deals Direct is going to run another one — 6AM-9AM next Monday 13 August. Coupon code for the day would be FINISH30. Yup, it's 3 hours only and 30% site wide so you better start looking around now and "note down the price".

Some terms and conditions:

  • Coupon not valid for purchase of gift vouchers or products on supermarketdeals.com.au
  • Coupon valid once per email address

On Tuesday they have site-wide shipping cap at $10, with exclusions apply to bulky items for some post codes.

Yup I made a mistake posting a wrong promotion last time, and it's verified this time (at least as I've been told). Also DealsDirect are getting back to me some exclusive offers for OzBargainers — that would be towards later next week hopefully.

EDIT: Shhhhhh… Coupon code seems to be working already.

EDIT 2: DealsDirect has disabled the coupon code as of 4PM Friday. Hopefully it would be re-enabled again coming Monday.

    • As it was explained in the post.

  • So, what did you guys buy? I don't know what I want. :(

  • Try for samsung led 50 inch

    But sold out..for 30%….damn i miss it

  • coupen not working for me, any luck with others?

    • Yes just got words from DealsDirect that they have disabled the coupon code.

  • Damn the dysons better not sell out by monday. Will be getting one for sure.

  • Hey, how fast do dealsdirect usually get products to you?

    • Within 3 working days.

  • Any recommendation for laptop? Anything worth buying?

  • Scotty, do you know if they intend to honour the purchases made before the code was disabled? (I am assuming/hope so).

    • My order status says "Approved", but no email from them.

      • I have an invoice email.. so here's hoping.

        • Yup same here.

"Congratulations XXXXXX, your DealsDirect order has been confirmed."

  • Do they bump up the prices? Any experience from last time's 30% off sale?

    • no they didn't afaik. The SSDs (240GB sandisk) were $279 last week so with the discount $186 + del, elsewhere was $209 normal price. They don't have more this week (AFAIK).

DON'T BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE, I BOUGHT ONE TABLET LAST TIME 30% OFF, REALLY BAD QUALITY. IS RETURNING NOW. BE CAREFUL!!!!

    • Yeah I looked at the tablets last week, all old stock other companies couldn't shift or refurbs.

    • +1

Oh noes, the Fisher Price Rainforest gym I bought from DD for my 5 month old is going to collapse on him.

      …Sigh…

    • +1

Was the brand or manufacturer, "Deals Direct"?

    • +1

One bad product doesn't make the website bad, from experience Deals Direct has some of the best customer service of any Aussie based website. Next time research your purchase before buying.

      • -1

I am experiencing their customer service by returning this product, and let us see what is happening.

Great bargain but why only restrict it at 6am-9am? When u could have a whole one day which is better, that would be alot smarter, they could be making huge profit than only 3hour.. At 6-9am most of us are in bed.

    • With 30% off, they could be making huge losses as well. :)

      • -1

Huge loss with 30% off??? :-)

        • +1

Possibly… the margins at 30% off might not be enough to cover labour, rent, insurance, etc. Especially with computer equipment like those SSDs, thinkpad tablets, and 3TB seagate HDDs.

        • I thought they were making huge losses the other week too. My guess is they are having trouble shifting old stock :P

  • Not really, everything they sell is over rrp

  • +2

    6AM-9AM next Monday 13 August

THEY WANT OUR $$$$, BUT THEY MAKE US JUMP THROUGH HOOPS??? F#$% THAT!

    • i think they'd like it even more if you paid full price. ;)

  • Anyone want to wager that the "good stuff" just happens to be out of stock during the sale period? and then just happens to get restocked after the sale?

recommend this deal, warning flying fish and shark CANNOT be flow in the same room. damn…no shark wars

    • You can fly them at the same time, just that the both of them can be controlled using the same remote.

  • +1

    Pity the sites broken

  • Why are the Western Digital (green) 3TB 64MB SATA3 3.5 Hard Drives at a inflated price of $205?

    • ?
Thats their usual price. Least last time i checked earlier in the week.

      • Someone mentioned that they picked up 3tb from the last 30% off sale for ~$122. B&M shops are around $169 currently.

        • Yeah they were linked earlier, 3tb seagate externals, standard price 175, with discount, 122 + shipping.

  • Can someone recommend a good tablet from dealsdirect?
I think I like this one..
    http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/9-7in-android-4-0-tablet-pc-…

    • Don't buy any tablet from DealsDirect.

Poor lineup of tablets, inflated prices (refurbed even), and no mention of specifications on that one.

      • Appears this is the Bauhn AMID-971R which is what Aldi was selling in May for $250. I understand that this is refurbished, but with the 30% off it will be $150 (including delivery). Is this a good bargain if I am buying it for a 3 year old to play at home? It is tempting to get the Samsung 7.7 from dick smith for $270 but not really interested in the 7" products as they might be too small for 3 year old.

      • Thanks. So far I like this one from dinodirect http://au.dinodirect.com/9-7-tablet-pc-pc-android-4-0-tablet…

Dyson dc35 conveniently out of stock now just before the sale :/ wonder if anyone else has experienced something similar with an item they're watching?

    • -1

OMG just then: http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/lenovo-thinkpad-10-1-16gb-bt… went out of stock… dodgy?

      • argh were you watching that? :(

        • There'd be hordes of people waiting for the Thinkpad, and being almost out of stock I would guess there's <5 left.

Most of them were sold when the coupon could be used early. I didn't get one in time, and don't think I'll be able to get it this time either

      • Still in stock when i check it.

      • says its back in stock now

  • Are any of the monitors good value with the discount in mind? (23" or 27")

  • Lenovo tablet already out

    • Sorry to hear that, I must have just managed to get one. Lucky that I tried to get it earlier than 6 am and the code worked.

I know how you feel, waking up early and then no cigar.

Maybe Shopping Express will fix up their Epic Hour debacle from last night and you can get one from there.

      • The code was working before 6am?

        • I ordered at around 5.35 am and it worked.

        • Guess I know how my tv (saved in cart) got sold before 6am. Nice.

    • Good news - just kept refreshing and 4th time lucky got one. Probably someone did not pay in time.
Now to claim Powerbuy. Good start of a Gloomy Monday.

      • Good news indeed :)

  • Just made an order and the coupon is working woot

  • +1

lucky I tried the code before 6 :) I managed to get one + buckscoop cashback of 4% + powerbuy cashback :)

  • Secured a Dyson DC39 and Logan & Mason Quilt cover, 30% off before 6am.

  • I made my order before reserve Powerbuy Cashback :(
    $20 Lost = =

    • ummmm whats reserve Powerbuy Cashback ?

      • if u claim the cashback before buying the lenovo, u get $70..
if u claim the cashback after you bought the lenovo, u get $50..

        • Ahh ok thanks for that.

  • Lenovo tab out of stock before 6am, yet they told me via email last night there was 25 in stock. Sux they activated the code before 6am. Luck for some I guess :(

    • how about other tablets? seems there are few nice ones

      • A little old or under-specced i'd say

    • +1

Somehow it does not surprise me that the Lenovo tab seems to be back in stock now. How convenient for them…

  • Managed to get the DC39 Vacuum Cleaner for $460 compared to the Amazon.es deal which was gonna be $450 without warranty!

    • I spent too much on pc bits and pieces to think about a vacuum cleaner.

Bougth the samsung 750D 27" monitor a steal @ $357 and 2 Wd 2Tb mybooks for $210 and a few other bits and pieces $603 bucks lol.

So thanks Op "Scotty" for the deal and making my pocket $600 lighter lol

    • I got the DC39 Allergy for a bit more, $513.25 cause I read somewhere that you get a trigger head for carpet floor with the allergy and animal but the multi-floor doesn't come with one. I could be wrong? :/

      • What's in the box?
        User guide.
        Quick start guide.
        Product registration card.
        Trigger head floor tool.
        Combination crevice/ brush tool.
        Mattress tool.
        Stair tool.

        Yes you do! Mine does't

  • Viewsonic 27" led monitor $289 any good when discount applied $213

    • Well its not 120hz " if your into gaming , perhaps the samsung 750D refurbished …. $280 i think " after discount "

  • has anyone noticed all the laptops that were at normal price(not the inflated ones) are sold out? I wouldnt be surprised if they come back in stock within a day or two. very cunny marketing. wasted two mornings to find a deal on laptop and both the times, the ones that may have been value for money were sold out before 6 a.m. Last time, they appeared back in stock the very next day. wouldnt trust them again

  • I think if you get the expensive items you'd save a bit…but the shipping is a killer.

    I bought a Netgear WNDR4500 ($225) + Canon ink pack ($78) + Pet bed (15).

Total $318. With the 30% discount it comes down to ~$222. But then shipping is $30 which brings it back to $252.

According to Staticice I could pick up the same inks for $16 each x 5, so that's $80; the WNDR4500 can be had for $195 from MSY. Petbeds can be had for $15 from reject shop. All up $290.

So in the end I saved $38. Not exactly earth shattering…

    • Yeah as you said depends how expensive and what you buy .

I checked staticice for the samsung 750D was $449 directdeals was $357 and the WD mybooks " bought 2 " are $144 on static and $105 @ Direct deals , so good bargains i think.

Saved $169 in total …. very happy

  • Just used it, it worked for me (30% off)

  • Was a bit late to the party (~9.15am) but still worked. Nice post. Will plan better for the next one.

  • Asus R501VM seems ok with 30% off $889.91 delivered http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/asus-r501vm-i7-8gb-750gb-15-… (code still working for me as of like 5 mins ago) 1128 seems cheapest on staticice with same ram and HD

  • It still works, can only be used once per account.

  • I got a new Samsung laptop for the wife, $449 down to $315… But being in WA, had to hit the site at 4.00am!! Luckily I was at work and awake at that time…

  • They should have chosen a more reasonable hour for WA. I would spent $400 or so.

  • does code still works?..not working for me now.

    • no it was 6am to 9am (but was apparently available a little later, though not when I checked at 12:30)

  • Hey guys,

I got hit up with an email asking me to verify my CC details by scanning a copy of my CC and drivers license. Is this normal/usual for DealsDirect? Appreciate your thoughts

    Cheers

    • No and don't give it to them. Ask them why? Where in their terms and conditions is this stated? Call ACCC and ask about your rights and if all fails then cancel the transaction but don't give any details.

      • It's from their Fraud Prevention Officer stating that:

"This is to protect the security of credit card holder as the transaction was completed over the internet… If we do not receive a response from you within the next 7 days, the order will subsequently be cancelled and refunded."

Seems pretty legit but wanted to know if anyone else experienced the same thing?

        • I've had to do that for overseas online stores before. They're just protecting themselves against credit card fraud. You could call them up and speak to someone to make sure it's something they generally do.

        • I would do it, but black out everything except for the last 4 numbers on your CC (either with a bit of paper etc)

  • Got a Dyson DC41 for $576 delivered. Very happy.

    • me too. megacheap!

  • Bought a Dyson too - DC34, however I forgot to add a product (Tuner Card) :( so I'm happy I got a good price on a Dyson but kicking myself for forgetting to add the tuner card (that I had my eye on a day earlier)… Grrrrr Hopefully they repeat the sale (wishful thinking on my part)…

  • +1

Hey hey, the Dyson dc35s are magically back in Stock again!

    • not any more…

      • You're right…. What the….

  • Got my dyson dc35 delivered this morning :-)

    • Nice! Did you get this when the code was working on the Friday arvo? They were definitely all 'sold out' over the weekend, well before the Mon morning sale.

      • Yep got in early on Friday.

        • Damn u did good! DD must be kicking themselves for activating the code early. They obviously intended to remove all the dc35s before the Mon sale. Just a presumption of course. Unless you can somehow convince me that the entire stock sold out on sat. And more stock arrived on Tues. :/
