Singer Sewing Machines - Model 7469 and Model 2273 - $396 and $340 Delivered

24
This post contains affiliate links. OzBargain might earn commissions when you click through and make purchases. Please see this page for more information.

Here are two more deals on sewing machines. Singer is a great quality brand with lots of tradition.
Since I saw that "theworks" has posted an affiliate link I thought I try it out as well in order to raise some funds for my research group. So if you want to buy and want to support us, please use the affiliate links. Otherwise, use the non-affiliate links.
Please note that I am not employed in any way by any Amazon company (but by a thoroughly Australian research institution) - the affiliate link is through their Partnerprogramm. I am not a store representative either.

Singer 2273 Tradition Sewing machine, 23 sewing programmes: $340 delivered (instead of $399 plus shipping in Oz)

Singer Computer sewing machine Confidence 7469: $396 delivered (instead of $599 plus shipping in Oz)

    combine your posts for amazon.de…

5 in one day from the same place is getting ridiculous…

are you getting some kickbacks from sales ???

    • +1

Yes, if only the website would let me. But that is no reason to neg the deal - only a reason to neg me.
What you are doing is violating the rules of Ozbargain!

      • Hang on… you can add 2 sowing machines into this post… why not the other items and call it sowing machines and other crap from amazon.de?

      • +4

the -ve is because this is not a bargain, amazon.de have been selling it at this price for quite a while…

        • Than give the +ve to the Greeks for f&^$&ing up the European economy and therefore the Euro value!

        • +3

Than give the +ve to the Greeks

It's actually the Spaniards turn now… about to put out their hand for some big handouts…

    • +3

No, this is the only one I put affiliate links in since I noticed "theworks" did it.
All I want to do is be helpful and give people the opportunity to grab bargains.

Also, can you tell me how to put a camera, board games, sewing machines etc. all in one post when I cannot put this in the title?
I guarantee if I put "Amazon deals" people like you will break all hell lose saying "Where is the price?", "What is the deal about" etc.
      Do you see the problem?

      • -1

But… it works for BigW, Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and other posts.

      • -1

        Do you see the problem?

        Nope.

  • +1

the amazon.de deals are great, keep 'em coming!

  • +1

I know that I would at least like to see the amazon posts combined on a daily basis

Maybe titled Gallifreys Glorious German Gems

    But that's just me

When is enough, enough 5 a day, 10?

Make a wiki entry and let people search themselves?

Its not terribly intrusive to be fair, but it could go that way

    • For reps the rules are fairly strict… why shouldn't it be the same here.. particularly for affiliate links?

    • +1

I even agree with you but there are some problems with it.

For example, I cannot get all products in the title. If I do not do that, people will complain. If I use your suggestion, people will complain that they do not know what is in the post.
And how is the voting going to work? If several items of several categories are in one post how will it work.
Say for example if the PS Vita and the Calvin Klein shoes are in one post? One is considered a great deal by many people and the other one is not? So how can you vote?
I would prefer a separate category for Amazon deals and have suggested that to the mods.

  • +2

Ignore what others say but I like your bargains!

  • +4

How is this a deal when the model 2273 can be bought for $310 delivered locally? http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/singer-2273-esteem-ii-23-sti…

  • +2

The 2273 is ~$30 cheaper at deals direct, as warrenkole has noted above and the 7469 is ~$85 cheaper at Amazon US: http://www.amazon.com/7469Q-Confidence-Quilter-Computerized-…

Please stop posting up what your "deal software" spits out without even checking it.

    • +2

If you buy from Amazon US, the machine will be 120v. You would need a buy a step down transformer for it work.

      • +1

Fair enough. Step down transformer can be had for around $40-$50 yeah? In which case you still save money over the German version and get a spare step down transformer.

        • -2

I did check on getprice.com.au you ….. Also, did you check whether it can be sent from the US. It does not work for me mate.
I suggest you and jv conentrate your efforts on finding some deals yourself and practise exhibiting a bit of gratitude to the people who at least try to find something useful and contribute. You are just destructive dude. You know what that will result in - the best deals being withheld from here because people are just not willing to cop the abuse from people like you. One of you always has something to complain about. Ever hear about the $99 Dell Streak 7 deal some months ago? Well, I know why it was not published here - too much s..t and aggression coming from some people like you.

        • -2

Also, can you check in any country in the world whether a product is cheaper than what you found? It certainly will be but that is impossible to check.

        • +3

Yes, I can tell you that it most certainly ships to Australia. In checkout it comes to:
$249.29+$61.77 postage = $311.06AUD. And I didn't check every other country. I checked Amazon US. And it was cheaper. Of course it's impossible to check every other place, but at least check the majors (Amazon US is a biggie). How am I being destructive? I have negged your post because it's a bad deal! It can be found cheaper elsewhere! I will continue to concentrate my efforts on upvoting good deals and downvoting bad ones. I'm not abusing you, actually. You refuse to accept that some of the deals you are posting can be found cheaper elsewhere.

I have plenty of gratitude for most of the users on this site. They have my gratitude because they:

          1. Thoroughly check a deal before posting (i.e. comparing to Amazon US every time);

          2. Are humble when someone points out that their deal is not a good one (i.e. when someone clearly shows you that a sewing machine can be bought cheaper elsewhere, do not have a go at them for being "abusive"); and

          3. Are polite (i.e. not rudely, and bizarrely, swearing at someone in Italian).

So far, Gallifrey, you have exhibited none of these qualities and therefore do not have my gratitude.

        • -3

I guess you will never learn and read. So $311 plus 40 or 50 for a transformer comes to less than $340? I certainly do not want to be in your shoes when you do your finances! In my book this comes $351-$361.
          Maths is your friend.
Again, gratitude mate, gratitude and modesty. For something that you get for free (namely people investing time to post deals) you are demanding a bit too much!

By the way, you checked all the accessories coming with the machine or are you as thorough as with the Ferrari wheel?

        • +2

You're correct, it does come to $351 or $361 — for the 7469. Which you have posted here for $396! AND the one from Amazon US, as far as I can tell, actually comes with more stuff than the German one.

One of the features on the US listing: "Four bonus quilting feet and an extension table…"

The US listing also includes a photo of the bonus extension table. The German version includes neither a picture or a text description of this extra piece.

Please accept that what you have posted is not the best deal. And stop insulting me, man - it's getting old.

        • First up, you are the one who is insulting. Secondly a good quality transformer one (which you'd want with a sewing machine is more like $65). So the savings of getting something from the US is negligible plus you have an extra machine and cable to worry about (space etc.)

And you are right - as far as you can tell and as your comment on the gaming wheel has shown you do not read well but like to "shoot" first -maybe invest some time learning a foreign language. Have you ever wondered why you prefer being destructive rather than constructive?

        • Let's stick to debating the bargain and not make it personal.

        • I agree but maybe you could remind people of rules - strange that it is always the same people voting johnno07 comments up or mine down.

        • So now you have agreed that the American machine would still be $20 cheaper than your deal. Not only that, but for the benefit of saving $20 you also get a good quality step down transformer that you can use for other appliances that require 120v. That is a far better deal in my opinion. Not to mention that you can't use the German one straight out of the box either as you would need a power plug converter for it to fit in our sockets.

In terms of the steering wheel deal, yes I negged before knowing all the facts. That is my mistake and I'm sorry. However, in my defence - the reason that I didn't have all the facts was that all the information about that seriously complicated device was in GERMAN and I was not using Google Chrome at the time that automatically translates. I then revoked my negative vote and admitted I was wrong (something you clearly have no concept of). Of course you then proceeded to imply that I was stupid by saying that the deal was "self-explanatory" and now continue to insult me by telling me I "do not read well".

I have only given constructive criticism as to why this sewing machine deal is not a good deal.

P.S. The 2273 model that you have posted here for $340 will potentially be only $220 including shipping from Deals Direct when this sale starts (if they still have stock at that time): http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/77021

        • My agreement is with neil's statement.
          Power plug converter: $1
Warranty in Germany: 2 years (as opposed to what in the US?) The German laws are extremely consumer friendly so I would rather pay a bit more and have that protection.
Self-eplanatory as in it was clear it was a gaming steering wheel - are you really telling me you could not recognise that and what the wheel was for? Please read the comments carefully and make sure you understand what the posters mean. It would really help everybody.
Thank you for putting the proviso "if they still have stock" because that is a bit of a killer if you have a super price but no stock (as happens in many Officework clearances and happened in the DS disaster).
I do understand your issue with Google translate etc. but maybe that is why you should be careful when dealing with people who actually read the foreign language absolutely fluently as they do have an advantage understanding (as for example was demonstrated in the PS Vita deal (free game) or the Toshiba TV deal (free 3d glasses).

And yes, I stand by what I said: it seems often you are keener on negging than on taking the time and read things.
Instead of saying "This is not a deal!", "This is mediocre", "Yeah, smashes this deal by $250!) etc. it would be much more diplomatic and successful to say something along the lines "Good link as it offers savings but here is a deal that offers even more."
It is a lot less personal and aggresive. And of course, then the post could be amended. Being aggressive and just negging does not really help anybody.
I just find it strange that wheneover I post something you show and invest an enormous amount of energy to prove me wrong and neg me? Can you explain to me why that is or is that really just a coincidence?

        • I appreciate that you seem to be honestly trying to provide bargains and maybe I need to be less aggressive however you seriously need to learn when to accept that you're wrong. Anyway, as I have stated in another of your posts I am no longer arguing with you about these things - I just have too many more important things going on at the moment. I have hidden your listings and as such will not be commenting, positively or negatively, on any of your future deals. All the best.

        • Thank you. That will make us both happy.

  • Cheaper elsewhere as johnno pointed out

  • It appears to me that Gallifrey likes posting deals in the hope people will give him some income through his affiliate links.

In other posts it has been suggested Amazon will bear the cost of returning the machine to Germany if it is faulty?

I've read stuff about this on the US site, and it clearly states that this WILL NOT apply more than 90 days after purchase. Does the same 90 day rule apply on the German site?

If so, and if the warranty on these items is not international, you are not getting a very good warranty on a lot of these deals….

    • The German laws stipulate:

2 years warranty whether the manufacturer likes this or not. The warranty covers all costs associated with exercising or using the warranty. If you like I will post the link to the German law and the related case law so you can check yourself. This is why the business of selling extended warranties is small or non-existent in Germany as opposed to OZ where it is big business.
And FYI: I have just posted two posts with affialite links and just had them removed. I just wanted to try that out and given that other posters have them I think it is only fair.
How come you think it is unfair if Amazon pays people $5 for investing the time to look through their site to find bargains. You save money and you think the posters do not deserve to be rewarded with $5 for their effort? Really?

      • Gallifrey

I agree other posters also use affiliate links - in particular to Play Asia - but what tends to happen is that they spam with "deals" that aren't that great in the hope they will get some revenue from their affiliate links.

For example, look at the number of crappy XBOX games posts…
