It would be fine for a games drive, but there's definitely much better ssds at a very similar price
Keep the well-below-$100/TB SSDs coming please!
I bought a 2TB SSD for $119 the other day and it works perfectly alongside a Gen 4 SSD.
TBH, I don't even notice the difference between the big dikc Crucial P5 Plus gen 4 card and the cheapo gen 3 PNY 3031 card in real world performance…
I mean yeah the p5 can transfer a 70gb 4k UHD MKV in under 15 seconds, but that's not that important.
Is this better than Kingston NV2 M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe 1TB SSD $79 Delivered @ Amazon AU?
I'd say so since this is QLC
Tbw isn’t the be all end all but it is a good indicator of quality in the chips they’re using. I wouldn’t use this for anything more more than a game drive. These are most certainly bottom of the barrel binned drives and I wouldn’t be surprised if theyre from wafers that failed qc.
The average TBW statistic for a 250 GB SSD is between 60 and 150 tbw. This is supposed to go up and be higher the capacity..
This $79/1TB Kingston's specs for various capacities
250GB – 80TB
500GB – 160TB
1TB – 320TB
2TB – 640TB
4TB – 1280TBWhich is almost 50% longer lifespan.
Sandisk's E30 (~$99/1TB) or Samsung's T7 (~$119/1TB) were never provided their TBW.
