If these are so good, why are they so cheap to begin with? Speakers are a semi-permanent modification, so they should be treated asa such.

That's one way of looking at it - although I'm not sure if anybody even makes USB 2.0 anymore, especially with USB-C ports.

I have a Wiim Mini that works really well with my Yamaha A-S501 that only provides power to the USB when the optical mode is set.
