It's developed in China… make of that what you will.
Monica herself is based in Sichuan China.

Got the licence (Mac version) , but there's nowhere to download it!

Just click the 'Get it Free' button again and it will start to download. I think the first time you click it just pops up the serial number and then you need to do it again to download the launcher.

      • Yep. I must be tired.

  • I'm not sure who else uses it here but I find the ability to download all my photos in monthly blocks (or whatever you want) is really useful. When I load up my iPhone my my PC, all I see are a bunch of apple photo folders with no easy way to sort them out or organise in a nice date driven way. This software does it beautifully for Photos. It is a bit crap with videos though as it does not do the same sort of date driven cohorting like it does for photos (well maybe this new version will).
There are a bunch of other functions as well but I only use it to download my photos and videos.

Personally, I prefer automatic backups using Google Photos to the cloud. And you can search for photos with words e.g. "cat", "snow", "Bali" etc. And there is a bulk cleanup function to clear space on your phone once backed up. Facial recognition too, even for your pets. And sharing function between multiple people.

Set and forget and with a much better way to sort and find what you want.

I like the automatically generated collages and memory videos too.

Import your photos and videos with the built-in Photos app in Windows.

Really good tip there! Just watched the video and will try that next time I need to do a backup!

  • Oh my God, I used to use this on my iPod Touch like a decade or so back, holy moly, good for these guys to still be kicking. Was a very good app then, can only imagine it's even better now since I'm not even sure iTunes is still getting updates.

  • I'm thinking to make a move from android to iPhone but the only nightmare for me is to get all my photos transferred to an iPhone so they can be in the same folders. Does anyone know any solution?

  • The giveaway version only support iOS 8.4. Once you've update the latest version, the licence will not work.
